3 ///////// Eligibility Guidelines \\\\\\\\\ REVERE Awards for the Classroom & Beyond the Classroom All subcategories except Innovation Submission is open to all products released or updated in Products released prior to 2014 are eligible if: Never entered the REVERE Awards (or past iterations including the AEP Awards and EdPress Awards) AND Currently available for purchase (by all consumers) and/or adoption/ purchasing (by a school/district), depending on the resource Innovation categories and subcategories Submission is 0pen to products released in 2014 only. Those in beta and limited trial accepted, with the understanding they will be judged on current features and functionalities. Note: Innovation is not open to products that have previously entered the REVERE Awards Innovation competition unless they have undergone significant and substantial upgrades, documented on the entry form. Entries that don t meet this requirement will be automatically disqualified unless moved to an alternate subcategory. REVERE Awards for Magazines & Integrated Marketing Submission is open to campaigns and issues released in 2014 only. December 2013/January 2014 and December 2014/January 2015 publications are allowed. 3

4 ///////// Entry Requirements \\\\\\\\\ Requirements for all competitions Product statement (250 word maximum) describing a product or campaign s aims and objectives AND High-resolution product photo 300 dpi or higher.jpg or.jpeg format only 1:1 (square) ratio is recommended IMPORTANT Note: Read the Competition and Category Information for additional competition and category-specific needs. Entries with missing or incomplete information will be disqualified. Special Innovation Requirement Statement (250 word maximum) on the product s innovative concept, qualities, and/or execution Special Integrated Marketing Requirements Clear explanation of at least 3 media used in the campaign AND Campaign data and analytics alongside other results 4

5 ///////// Entry Requirements \\\\\\\\\ Special Magazine Requirements PDF article samples from print publications must be uploaded onto the entry form in all categories except: Single Issue Design Overall Magazine Design Single Issue Editorial Overall Magazine Editorial Best Overall Magazine Print publications that enter in the above categories must send print samples of issue(s). One sample = three consecutively published articles or issues in the following categories: Departments and Sections Best Overall Design Best Overall Editorial Best Overall Magazine Columns, Essays, and Commentary entries: If a recurring column, providing three consecutively published examples is recommended. Note: Failure to comply with listed requirements will lead to disqualification. 5

6 //////////// Product Samples \\\\\\\\\\\\ Print Samples Ship FOUR samples of any print components to: AAP PreK-12 Learning Group Attn.: REVERE Awards 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 1110 Philadelphia, PA Packages must arrive no later than January 30, Any tracking information sent ahead of a shipment is appreciated. Note: Please keep an individual sample s weight under 20 lbs. to allow for easy shipment to judges whenever possible. Big, heavy, or bulky package? Comprised of multiple components? Contact Linda Swank at for more information on how to proceed with the shipment of samples. 6

7 ////////////// Digital Access \\\\\\\\\\\\\\ Digital Access Digital products must provide all necessary information on the entry form, including: links usernames passwords instructions technical requirements This information should be live and accessible from submission of the application through June 30, Exceptions may be allowed with permission from the Learning Group. Entrants are able to update information on the entry form after submission until the beginning of the judging period. Only one set of login credentials is needed if it s possible and acceptable for all judges to use these credentials throughout the entire judging period. If individual credentials are needed to view the product best, providing up to five sets is recommended. Entering an app? Please contact Linda Swank for information on how to proceed with providing samples. Note: Does your entry include individual teacher and student experiences, including login information? Don t forget to include both on the entry form. Please remember that judges are viewing samples from the perspective of a regular user, but with a limited timeframe. Setting up classrooms, assignments, students, and other demo data is appreciated. 7

8 //Competition & Category Information\\ REVERE Awards for the Classroom This competition focuses on resources made specifically for education professionals and learners to use during formal instruction or training periods, including online classes, blended or hybrid courses, flipped classroom setups, etc. alongside traditional face-to-face teaching and learning arrangements. Product Categories Whole Curriculum Resources Supplemental Resources Professional Resources Classroom entries must choose a product category and subject subcategory when entering. Whole Curriculum The main instructional program in a subject or topic area Elements of Whole Curriculum entries include: Teacher/facilitator guide and support materials* Learner guide and support materials* Assessment guides* Clear standards-alignment* Additional resources included in the curriculum (e.g. ELL and differentiation materials, websites and apps, maps and timelines, etc.) Subcategories Mathematics Reading and Language Arts Science, Health, & the Environment Social Sciences and History Innovation (open to all subject areas) Subcategory winners will be automatically entered into contention for the Whole Curriculum Golden Lamp Award. 8

9 //Competition & Category Information\\ Supplemental Resources Materials that augment or enhance the main instructional tools in a subject area; this also includes materials used in many elective or nonrequired courses and products whose topics or themes are best suited for shorter terms of study Elements of Supplemental Resources entries include: Teacher guide and support materials* Learner guide and support materials* Assessment guides Clear standards-alignment Additional resources included in the curriculum (e.g. ELL and differentiation materials, websites and apps, maps and timelines, etc.) Subcategories* Arts Digital Literacies Interdisciplinary Resources Mathematics News and Current Issues Reading and Language Arts Reference and Research Resources for English Language Learners Resources for Learners with Special Educational Needs Science, Health, & the Environment Social Sciences & History Social-Emotional and Character Learning Innovation (open to all subject areas) Subcategory winners will be entered into contention for the Supplemental Resources Golden Lamp Award. * Questions about the subcategories? These resources are particularly used for informal learning and personal study and in informal learning environments, like at home. Elements of Beyond the Classrooom entries include: Learner-centered materials* Limited provisions for an adult guide or facilitator (e.g. book club questions, glossary, instructions on how to use, suggestions for projects, etc.) Categories* Learn Play Relate Innovate *Questions about the categories? Elements of Magazine entries include: Print or digital sample of article(s) or issue(s)* Additional resources relating to article(s) or issue(s) (e.g. websites or other information; does not include resources for classroom/educator use) Magazine entries must choose a category and division when entering and review the Special Magazine Requirements section Categories Design Categories Article Design Cover Illustrations, Graphics, & Photography Single Issue Design Best Overall Design Editorial Categories Columns, Essays, & Commentary Departments and Sections Feature Article News and Reporting Single Issue Editorial Best Overall Editorial Publication Category Best Overall Magazine Divisions Ages 3-11 or Grades PreK-6 Ages 12+ or Grades 7 and up Professional publications written and targeted at education professionals at all levels 12

Elements of Interated Marketing entries include: The scope of their marketing work for a campaign, including explanation on at least three different media components and how they were used to further the campaign s theme and objectives* Data and analytics alongside results, highlighting the overall success of the campaign* Categories Campaign budget of $30K and under Campaign budget between $30K and $75K Campaign budget of $75K and up * Required elements in a product s print or digital samples 13
