4 6 I APAS inspector APAS inspector I 7 APAS inspector Automated testing device for The APAS inspector is a mobile vision inspection system for production and, due to its variable test modules, is suitable e.g. for inspecting mat or glossy surfaces or for performing completeness and dimensional checks. vision inspections 3D imaging Variable test modules There are several different, manually exchangeable test modules for the APAS inspector. These test modules distinguish themselves due to their especially robust 3D imaging processes. Thus both highly sensitive surface inspections and completeness checks are possible. Mounted in an adjustable and sturdy base frame the camera can be aligned flexibly and adapted to various test tasks. Planar stage User interface The APAS inspector is operated via a mobile touchpad. The user interface shows test results as well as process images. On the planar stage, the test samples are transported directly under the camera, incrementally scanned or, depending on the configuration, rotated beneath the camera. Thus, a multitude of of different test sample paths can be realized beneath the camera by merely changing software parameters without making any mechanical changes. Surface inspection with APAS surface The APAS inspector checks surfaces with a robust 3D technology, which is able to even test parts with production typical contaminations. There are different test modules for matt and superglossy surfaces. Both modules are able to reconstruct the surface in 3D, in order to show even minor damages such as dents, warpings and scratches. The system is insensitive to external influences, which makes it especially suitable for industrial application. Dimensional check with APAS measure Particularly in combination with other test modules, the APAS inspector is able to perform high-precision dimensional accuracy checks. For this purpose, different lighting systems and highly precise optics are available. Depending on the boundary conditions such as optics, camera and lighting, it is possible to realize a repeatability of a few micrometers. Microcrack detection with APAS ceracrack It is a big challenge for human eyesight to detect hairline cracks in ceramic components. With the help of this module, the APAS inspector, however, is able to reliably detect even those microcracks that would be missed by humans. Learning vision with APAS classifier With this option the operator uses the APAS inspector to take images of a sample. The operator highlights good and bad areas in these images and allocates them to predefined classifications. The system analyzes and stores the information for subsequent test runs, which allows for automatic classification. The system can be retrained using new images to ensure that the quality checks are continually optimized. In this way the APAS inspector transfers customer knowledge to the inspection system, without the need for a detailed customer fault description.
