For our annual 2014 Educational Survey Series we asked U.S. corporate tax hiring authorities to rank the following programs: Undergraduate Accounting MS Tax MAcc MAcc Tax MBA Tax JD Tax LL.M. 15 Conclusion By providing these annual rankings of the best U.S Tax programs directly from the employer perspective, we hope to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate tax world. What the survey data below reveals is that there is significant consistency in year-over-year ranking between 2013 and Next year, we will do a complete analysis of how tax hiring authorities view the top MST, MAcc Tax, and MBA Tax collectively in order to provide a new perspective on this issue. Below, we have provided key takeaways from the 2014 results for students, school administration and employers. Advice for Students: As a current or prospective student, we recommend that you utilize this valuable data in conjunction with other main factors in your decision process when choosing an undergraduate or graduate program. Advice for School Administration: Lower ranking schools must take note of the fact that repeat top programs have branded themselves extremely well. In order to play catch up, schools that ranked lower or not at all will need to re-evaluate and retool their tax programs to connect better with tax employers. Repeat programs should continue to be progressive and responsive to what Hiring Authorities are looking for out of graduates. Advice for Employers: To a certain degree, it will be beneficial for you to pay attention to which schools are consistently ranking in the Top 10, and take this into consideration when evaluating new hires. You should also encourage your current staff to entertain going back to school to pick up any advanced degrees that could aid in their development. 15 P a g e
