2 hello contents Secure My Device (or SMD) is a great new security software suite from Orange. It includes personal firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware and patch management. It can be installed on all your users computers to ensure they undergo a full security check before they access your corporate information. It s easy to install and just as easy to run. You ll have peace of mind in minutes. 01 your welcome downloading and installing the Orange SMD software setting up Orange SMD accessing the management portal... 8 This guide is intended for IT Managers and will take you through the first steps to installing and setting up the new security suite for your network. 3 01 your welcome When you purchase the SMD service from Orange, you will receive a welcome . This message will contain the following bits of important information: n Your subscription details n Instructions explaining how to log in to the SMD management portal n User name and password for access to the management portal n A 20 digit subscription number Note: Your subscription number enables you to install the SMD software as many times as you have licences for. 02 downloading and installing the Orange SMD software Go to securemydevice.exe to download the software. You can click on the URL in the confirmation . The software will automatically begin to download to the computer. Once the software has successfully downloaded, double click on the file named exe. and follow the instructions on the installation wizard. 1 Select a language from the menu and click Next.

4 2 Read the licence terms and check the I accept the agreement box to continue. Click Next. 4 Choose where you want the software to be installed. A default destination will be displayed. If you would like to change this, click Browse..., select a new folder and click OK. Then select Next. 3 Enter the subscription number from your welcome into the five boxes and click Next to continue.

5 5 The screen below will appear, telling you that the installation was successful. The SMD security suite will not be active until you have restarted the computer. If you select Restart now the computer will automatically restart. For this to be successful the subscription number must be entered correctly and there must be at least one available licence. Note: You will need to have a network connection for the SMD software to validate your subscription. If problems occur, check your network connection and make sure that the subscription number is entered correctly and that you have an available licence. 6 Once the computer has restarted, Orange SMD will validate the subscription.

6 03 setting up Orange SMD When the subscription has been successfully completed, the SMD Start-up Wizard will automatically open. 3 Next confirm the default client. If the Start-up Wizard has correctly chosen the default client, select Yes. If not, select No, I use this: and choose the client from the dropdown menu. Click Next. 1 First click Next and the screen will update. 2 You will need to confirm the default web browser. If the Start-up Wizard has correctly chosen the default browser, select Yes. If not, select No, I use this: and choose the browser from the dropdown menu. Click Next. 4 Select which tasks you would like to run automatically when you have completed the Start-up Wizard. 6

7 04 accessing the management portal 5 The Start-up Wizard has been completed, click Finish to save the settings. When Orange SMD has been successfully installed, data will begin to be sent automatically between the computer and the management portal. This will enable you remote access to the installation and security details of all the computers in your network using SMD. To access the management portal, go to The latest virus updates are automatically downloaded and the SMD security suite installation is now complete.
