1. Introduction MeS Mobile for iphone/ipad gives users the ability to process transactions anywhere their device (iphone, ipad, or ipod touch ) has network coverage or a Wi-Fi connection. MeS Mobile is an ios app that integrates with an easy-to-use card reader for accepting card swiped transactions. Transactions entered using MeS Mobile are processed through the MeS secure payment system (Virtual Terminal), and are accessible via the mobile device or a web browser. More extensive functionality is available using a web browser while the mobile application is well suited to processing transactions and performing basic administrative functions while on the go. MeS Mobile is a secure payment solution. Transaction data is sent between the iphone/ipad device and MeS Virtual Terminal using a secure socket layer (SSL) connection that ensures the data is fully encrypted and cannot be compromised. Credit card data is never stored on the iphone/ipad device so cardholder data is secure even if the iphone/ipad device is lost or stolen. In case an iphone/ipad device has been lost or stolen, MeS Virtual Terminal merchant administrators can easily disable user accounts which in turn disables the use of the iphone/ipad application. The MeS Mobile application on an iphone or ipad used to process transactions and manage customer records is linked to... the web-based MeS Virtual Terminal accessible from any current browser with an Internet connection. Settings can be administered, transactions managed, and reports created within the web-based Virtual Terminal. This guide is intended to provide: Device requirements for the MeS Mobile app. An overview on how to install the MeS Mobile app. Suggestions on how to configure the MeS Virtual Terminal settings, and set user account permissions. Instructions on how to process transactions and use all functions on the MeS Mobile app. MeS Mobile v1.1 3 Confidentiel

Optional MagTek idynamo card reader to run card swiped transactions. In addition, you must have the following from Merchant e-solutions: MeS Virtual Terminal user account from Merchant e-solutions. Merchant e-solutions merchant account. Note: The MeS Mobile software is not suggested for use on the 1 st generation ipod Touch or the 1 st Generation iphone. MeS Mobile v1.1 4 Confidentiel
3. Installation MeS Mobile for iphone/ipad can be downloaded for free in either of the following ways: App Store directly from the device itunes App Store from a PC To find the application at the App Store, use the search function, and complete a search for MeS Mobile or Merchant e-solutions and the application should be made available. The application icon will look like this: Select the option to Install the app, which will download and install the application. If the app is downloaded on itunes, the device must be synced with itunes in order for the app to be installed. Once the installation is complete, the application icon should show on the iphone/ipad desktop, and is ready for use. To uninstall the application, follow Apple s standard procedures for deleting an application from the iphone/ipad device. MeS Mobile v1.1 5 Confidentiel
4. Configuration The majority of the functions for MeS Mobile are controlled by the Terminal Settings page on the MeS Virtual Terminal website. It is suggested that you complete the terminal settings and configure user permissions before MeS Mobile is used for processing transactions. Only a user with administrative privileges can change terminal and user settings. Several options that can be configured for the mobile application are available on the Terminal Settings page of MeS Virtual Terminal. There are also several settings that can be changed at the device level using the Application Settings menu of the iphone/ipad application. 4.1 Batch Auto Settlement To enable batch auto settlement the Automatic Batch Settlement check box must be checked and a Daily Settlement Time must be selected. The settlement time is based on the merchant s time zone. An address can be entered to receive a batch settlement confirmation . Once the preferred settings are entered click the Accept Updates button at the bottom of the screen. There is also the option to manually settle the batch from the iphone/ipad device. 4.2 Receipt Settings A custom receipt header and footer can easily be set by using the Receipt Data section of the terminal settings. Header lines 1-4 are static and cannot be changed, but header lines 5-6 and all 3 footer lines can be customized. Each custom line can accommodate up to 25 characters. Once the custom text has been entered for the extra line(s) being used the Accept Updates button must be clicked for the changes to take place. Users must also log out and log back in on the iphone/ipad application for the changes to take place on the receipt printer. For changes on lines 1-4 of the receipt header, users must call MeS Customer Care at MeS Mobile v1.1 6 Confidentiel
4.3 Receipt Option Users have the ability to send receipts to their customers at the time the Virtual Terminal batch is settled. To send receipts, enable the option on the Terminal Settings page. Once the option is enabled, users will need to enter an address on the iphone/ipad application transaction screen for each transaction in which an receipt will be sent. 4.4 User Permissions Administrator users have the ability to set individual user account permissions based on the transaction types and functions in which they want the user to have access to use. The options that apply to the MeS Mobile app are authorized transaction types and whether or not they can initiate a manual batch settlement. The permission settings apply not only to the MeS Mobile but also the MeS Virtual Terminal web application. The settings that apply to the MeS Mobile application are: Transactions All Allowing this permission will enable the user to run Sales and Offline transactions. Denying it will disable all transactions types. Transactions Credit/Refund: This permission setting is only available if Transactions All is set to Allow. Allowing this permission will enable the user to issue refunds, denying it will disable the ability to issue refunds. Transactions Void: This permission setting is only available if Transactions All is set to Allow. Allowing this permission will enable the user to void transactions, denying it will disable the ability to complete voids. Batch Management Settle Batch: Allowing this permission gives users the ability to manually settle batches from the Mobile interface, denying the permission disables the ability to settle a batch. Note: Manually settling a batch does not affect the batch auto settlement process, and there is no limit to how many times a batch can be settled in a day. Using the manual batch settlement option from the iphone/ipad device will settle all transactions in the MeS Virtual Terminal batch regardless of how they were initiated. MeS Mobile v1.1 7 Confidentiel
4.5 Application Settings The Application Settings menu of the MeS Mobile application for iphone/ipad gives users control of many of the features available on the mobile application: Prompt for Tip: This option enables the tip processing option for transactions. When this option is set to ON a tip entry field will be made available on the Signature screen and transaction results screen. Entering a value in the field will automatically adjust the transactions amount. Prompt for This option allows users to send receipts to customers. When this option is set to ON the customer field is available on all transaction entry screens, and the transaction results screen. The Customer Notification option must also be turned on in the MeS Virtual Terminal Terminal settings page. all transaction entry screens. Customer Database: This option allows users to autoload customer payment information (card number end expiration date) directly to the transaction entry screens from the customer database. When this option is set to ON the LOAD STORED CARD button is available on Recurring Transactions: This option gives users the ability to add recurring and installment payment records to new or existing customer records. When this option is set to ON the Add Recurring Record button is made available on the Customer Detail screen. Card Present Mode: This setting changes the default screen that is displayed after a user logs into the application. If this option is set to ON the Card Present Sale screen is displayed after the log in process. When this option is set to OFF the MOTO Sale screen is shown after the user logs into the application. Prompt for Signature: This option allows users to capture customer s signatures on card present transactions. When this option is set to ON a signature entry screen will be presented after a card present transaction has been approved. These optional settings can be changed at any time, and only apply to the device in which the application is installed. Changing these settings on one device does not change the settings on other devices that are being used on the same account. MeS Mobile v1.1 8 Confidentiel
5. Login Procedures MeS Mobile for iphone/ipad uses the same login credentials as the MeS Virtual Terminal website. In fact, user accounts must be activated on the MeS Virtual Terminal website before they can be used on the Mobile application. The MeS Mobile user name and password are case sensitive and need to be entered on the iphone/ipad application exactly as they would be on the website. To login, simply press the MeS Mobile icon button. This will take you to the MeS Mobile home screen (seen left). Press the Login in button which will open the login screen (seen right). Enter a valid user name and password, and press the Login button. If an invalid user name/password combination is submitted user will receive an authentication error and will not be logged into the application. If the application is not used for a period of 15 minutes, users will be automatically logged out and forced to enter their password again. Users with devices that support multi-taking can switch from the MeS Mobile application to other applications or functions without logging out by using the device home button. Answering calls will also close the MeS Mobile window without logging users out. The iphone will automatically return to the MeS Mobile application after the call is ended. Note: After a user logs in for the first time with a valid user name and password the buttons for Try Demo and Setup Merchant Account will no longer be available. MeS Mobile v1.1 9 Confidentiel
6. MeS Mobile Menu The MeS Mobile menu has a total of 13 options that are broken down into 5 sections as follows: 1. Transactions Card Present Sale MOTO Sale Refund Offline (Forced Sale) 2. Batch Transaction Log Current Batch Totals Settled Batch Report 3. Application Settings 4. Customers Add Customer Customer Management 5. Support Help User s Guide About MeS Mobile 6.1 Transactions Card Present Sale: This is a transaction in which the card is present and you are charging the customer. The card can either be swiped, or the card number can be manually entered. This transaction type will prompt for a signature when an approval is received, and the Prompt for Signature option is turned on. Card present transactions that are hand keyed will require the entry of the customer s zip code. MOTO Sale: This transaction type should be used any time the card is not present and the customer will be charged. No signature is required for this transaction type and if approved will not prompt for a signature. MeS Mobile v Confidentiel
Refund: This transaction type refunds money back to the cardholder by swiping or hand keying the card information for both card-present and cardnot-present situations. No signature is required for this transaction type. Offline (Forced Sale): This transaction type is a charge to the cardholder in which the card information is swiped or hand keyed and the authorization code (typically obtained from another source) is manually entered. This applies to both card-present and card-not-present situations. The signature prompt will be presented for this transaction whether card is present or not. 6.2 Batch Transaction Log: All transactions entered on the iphone/ipad are listed in the Transaction Log. This includes all transactions even if they have been declined or voided, but does not necessarily represent all transactions in the MeS Mobile batch. The Transaction log only lists transactions that were entered on the individual iphone/ipad device. There are buttons available for settling the current batch or clearing the transaction log. Clearing the transaction log only clears the log on the local device, it does not delete transactions from the MeS Mobile batch. Using the Settle Batch button will also clear the transaction log when the batch settlement process is complete. Settling the batch will settle transactions listed in the mobile device as well as the MeS Virtual Terminal batch. Current Batch Totals: The Current Batch totals report displays the batch totals for all MeS Virtual Terminal transactions, not just the transactions entered on the individual device. All transactions that have a Pending Settlement status in the MeS Virtual Terminal batch will be included on the report. The totals on the report represent the amounts that would be included in the batch if you settled the batch at that point. MeS Mobile v Confidentiel
Settled Batch Report: The Settled Batch Report gives users a list of the last 25 batches that have been settled. Pressing one of the individual batches in the list will take the user to the Settled Batch Detail for that individual batch. The Settled Batch Detail will include all transactions settled with the MeS Virtual Terminal batch for that date, not just the transactions processed on the individual iphone/ipad device(s). 6.3 Application Settings - See section Customers One of the major features of the MeS Mobile solution is the ability to create and manage customer records with stored payment information (card number & expiration date) that includes the ability to process recurring and installment payments. Users can easily create and manage customer records with or without payment information, and manage recurring and installment payments all from their iphone/ipad device. Add Customer: The Add Customer function should be used any time a new customer will be added to the customer database. Each customer record requires a unique Customer ID. It is up to the MeS Mobile users and their company to determine a naming convention for the Customer ID values for each individual customer record. To add a new customer all users need to do is fill in the required fields (marked with an asterisk *) and press the Add button. Once the customer record information is saved along with card number and expiration date, the option to add a recurring or installment payment will be presented. MeS Mobile v Confidentiel
Any customer records created using the MeS Mobile application are also available for use on MeS Virtual Terminal and vice-versa. Customer Management: The Customer Management function gives user the ability to search for existing customer records and update them. Users can enter a first name, last name, business name, or customer ID in the search field, and will be given a list of all customer records that fit the search criteria. To view or update the individual customer records just press the correct record from the search list to be taken to the customer record details. To make updates to the customer record, edit the fields as needed and press the Update button. Users can also add a recurring or installment payment record to an existing customer record if needed. 6.5 Support Help: This button will take users to a screen that lists the Merchant e-solutions Customer Care phone number and address. Users Guide: This button takes users to a condensed mobile version of this user guide. About MeS Mobile: This button will display details about the current version of the MeS Mobile application for iphone/ipad. 7. Card Reader For those merchants that accept face-to-face transactions, the MeS Mobile solution for iphone/ipad has been integrated with the MagTek idynamo card reader to complete swiped transactions. The combination of the MeS Mobile application and the idynamo make accepting card present transactions easy, and users benefit from the security and cost savings associated with card swiped transactions. MagTek idynamo The idynamo from MagTek is a secure card reader authenticator (SCRA) designed to work with the iphone 3G, iphone 3GS, iphone 4, ipad, and ipod Touch. The idynamo encrypts the data inside the MeS Mobile v Confidentiel
read head, closest to the magnetic stripe and offers additional security layers with immediate tokenization of card data that can only be decrypted by the Merchant e-solutions servers. The idynamo features a noslip ergonomic design that fits comfortably in the hand. Built to last, the idynamo has a rugged design built to handle the demands of a mobile solution. The MagTek idynamo is available for purchase from Merchant e-solutions. To order an idyamo, contact your merchant services account representative or the Merchant e-solutions Customer Care at (888) Processing Transactions This section will cover how to enter each transaction type step-by-step and details on features used during the transaction entry process. 8.1 Transaction Options Signature Capture: The MeS Mobile application for iphone/ipad supports signature capture for the Card Present Sale and Offline Sale transaction types. When enabled, the signature capture screen will be presented after a transaction is approved. The customer should sign on the screen using their finger, or a stylus (not available from Merchant e-solutions) designed for capacitive touch screens. The signature is captured and stored in the database, and can be easily viewed on the web-based MeS Virtual Terminal transaction details. Users also have the ability to print a receipt from the MeS Virtual Terminal transaction results screen, which includes the signature captured for the transaction. MeS Mobile v Confidentiel
Receipts: If the customer would like an receipt, users should enter an address in the available field on all transactions types. receipts are not sent at the time the transaction is entered or approved, but are sent when the batch is settled. Load Stored Card: In a card-not-present environment it is not uncommon for merchants to do business with the same customer on a regular basis. In these cases MeS Mobile users can create customer records with stored payment information (card number & exp. date). To automatically load a customer s card information from the customer database users should press the Load Stored Card button. Pressing this button will bring up a customer record search function. This function is available for all transactions types, but should primarily be used for MOTO Sale transactions. Press the Load Store Card button...search for the customer record and select the one needed and the card information automatically loads. 8.2 Card Present Sale Device Prompt Action Swipe card -OR- enter the card # and Exp Date.
