1 PAR5008D 1-port Remap IEEE1284 Parallel Universal PCI Board Introduction SUNIX PAR5008D PCI Remap Parallel card enables users to expand one additional real ECP/EPP/SPP/BPP communication LPT port on their PC-based system for connecting their parallel devices. Furthermore, this board can be installed as a fully featured I/O mapped parallel port as 278, 378, and 3BC legacy ISA address under Microsoft Windows and DOS operation systems. User can connect software protection dongles, JTAG chip programmers, data acquisition, machine process control, scientific measurement systems, and other parallel devices as well as computer's native parallel port. SUNIX PAR5008D Remap card is designed with SUNIX high performance and realizable parallel connectivity controller, UL7512EQ and as well built with many of SUNIX advanced features and technologies, making it the advanced and high efficient solution for commercial and industrial automation applications. 3 Design Highlight Easy Hardware Settings for Legacy ISA Address This board makes a breakthrough of PCI plug-n-play rule, and it allows user remapping legacy ISA address to the LPT port. User can select 278, 378, or 3BC address by on board hardware settings. Provide Real LPT Port for All Legacy Devices Unlike USB to parallel adapters, SUNIX Remap Parallel Card function exactly likes a computer's native parallel port and provides a true LPT port in order for your PC to work properly with devices that require a LPT port for setup and configuration. For many legacy devices like parallel scanners, zip drives or other older parallel-port devices, they only work with a real parallel LPT port from a computer and in many cases can not work with virtual parallel ports provided from those USB to parallel port adapter cables to simulate parallel connection. Support for Any Windows-based PC SUNIX parallel card supports all Microsoft Windows operation systems, including 32/64-bit Microsoft Windows Server (2008, 2003, 2000) and Widows Client (7, Vista, XP, 98). Furthermore, Remapping function is workable with windows system default driver. It makes your whole system working properly without any potential conflicting issue when connecting legacy parallel devices.
