9 Documented Procedures How many documented procedures are required by each of the management standards? As many as are required to control ALL processes
10 Policy All three management system standards require a Policy Statement defined by top management The policy is a commitment by top management as to the way the business will be run to ensure that customer, interested party and stakeholder satisfaction is achieved QMS, EMS and OH&S elements can be combined into a single Business Policy
11 System Manual ISO 9001:2008 specifically requires a Quality Manual Neither or have a specific requirement for a Manual however and include requirements which are similar ALL can be met by including in an existing Quality Manual (Business System Manual)
12 Roles and Responsibilities ALL three standards require roles and responsibilities to be defined Management Representative Management are responsible for Quality Issues Environmental Aspects OH&S Risks
13 Training, Awareness and Competence ALL three standards require the same thing that all employees and contractors are competent to carry out their assigned tasks
14 Continual Improvement The requirements of ALL three standards are effectively the same i.e. setting objectives Except and require specific management programmes, which define responsibilities, means and time frames for the achievement of objectives A common procedure can be used for setting and reviewing of all company objectives
15 Internal Communication ALL require effective communication with employees with contractors
16 External Communication ALL require effective communication with customers with stakeholders QMS customer concerns / complaints includes the mechanisms required by and for dealing with communications from interested parties
