3 Important Visa Information Everyone travelling to Turkmenistan needs a visa. This is a 2 stage process. Firstly you must obtain a visa invitation letter which can take 4 weeks and then you need to obtain a visa stamped in your passport which can take a further 7 working days. You cannot obtain a visa without a visa invitation letter. APPLYING FOR VISA INVITATION LETTER The organising committee is providing visa invitation letters and support for all registered participants. For sponsors visa processing fee is free of charge. For delegates - visa invitation letter processing fee of $40.00 will apply to each visa application unless accommodation is booked concurrently in which case the visa invitation letter fee will not apply. Documents required: 1. Visa application form duly filled-in in WORD FORMAT by each person requiring a visa 2. Clear scanned COLOUR copy of the passport for each person requiring a visa. Passport must be valid at least 6 (six) months prior to travel. 3. Scanned colour passport size photograph (5x6) on white background for each person requiring a visa. 4. All Pakistan citizens required to provide a medical certificate against poliomyelitis (polio) in order to apply for visa invitation letter. 5. Hotel booking confirmation On receipt of your completed form and documents we will submit your application to the Turkmenistan Authorities. Once your travel is approved by the Turkmenistan Authorities, we will contact you with further instructions and you the Visa Invitation Letter. OBTAINING TURKMEN VISA Your Passport must be valid until at least 3 months after your exit date from Turkmenistan and must have at least one blank visa page. Once you have your visa invitation letter you can then either: Visit your local Turkmenistan Embassy with a copy of your visa invitation letter to get a visa stamped in your passport. This can take up to 7 working days. Obtain your visa on arrival. You can travel to Turkmenistan with your visa invitation letter and obtain a visa on arrival at the airport. page 2

4 Important Visa Information REGISTRATION WITH OVIR SERVICE If you stay in Turkmenistan for over 72 hours you must also register with the local authorities WITHIN 72 hours. Please note the date of the arrival and the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) do not count in the time restriction of 72 hours for registration. The Organising Committee will register with OVIR only those delegates, who applied for visa invitation letters through Organising Committee. Delegates are not required to provide any documents for registration. The letter confirming registration can be collected at the conference registration desk (during OGT16). NB: If you do not register your passport & your stay is over 72 hours, you will experience problems when trying to leave Turkmenistan. page 3
