Grab your safari hat and imagination as you visit Mojo s Wild & Crazy Lagoon. Our resident capuchin monkey, Mojo, is excited for you to visit her home on Monkey Island, where she has her very own lagoon and jungle gym! Ducking beneath the vines as you enter you will be greeted by her many friends in Fiona s Jungle Perch, Lemur Lair, Peacock Paradise, The Grasslands, Spike s Reptile Territory, Iggy s Insect Encounter, Kangaroo Cove and the Enchanted Village. Along your journey be prepared to learn fascinating facts about each and every one of our enchanted animals. Keep your eyes peeled and smart phones handy and you can scan QR codes in every area throughout the lagoon. Quick facts, extensive descriptions and even video will be at your fingertips!
Fiona and her friends of flight are often found chattering amongst themselves, but if you listen closely you might recognize a word or two. From macaws to parrots and cockatoos these birds from around the world will bring beauty and music to your enchanted adventure. What s that?! Through the trees you spot a tree house and stop to investigate. Clothes on the line, curtains in the windows, and safari guides. Whew! Thank goodness you might need some help on this adventure! Turning onto the trail you will meet lemurs, camels, peacocks, our friend Barcode and Stripes the zebras, oh my! Did you know that Madagascar is famous for the lemur? In fact, the lemur can only be found in Madagascar! Explore Lemur Lair and you will get to see firsthand what makes these monkey-like animals unique. With their pointed muzzles, large eyes, and bushy tails you will be delighted to spot the similarities and differences between the lemur and its distant cousin the monkey.
Welcome to Peacock Paradise home of our largest and most colorful feathered friends. One of the peacock s most interesting features is its coloring. Can you guess all of the colors that can be represented on the peacock? If you guessed black, green, blue, gray, red and orange then you are right! Spend some time in paradise and enjoy all that the peacock has to offer. If you catch them at the right time you might even get to see a party! Yes you read that right - groups of these extremely social birds are referred to as parties. As you approach The Grasslands you will be greeted by our tallest resident Stanley the giraffe. Standing at well over 12 feet tall and weighing in at over 1,000 pounds Stanley is not only the tallest mammal in Mojo s Wild & Crazy Lagoon, giraffes are the tallest mammals in the world! In fact, did you know that not only are giraffes tall, but they are pretty fast as well? Yup! A giraffe can run as fast as 35 miles per hour for short distances and 10 miles an hour over longer distances. In The Grasslands you will also have the opportunity to feed our spotted Stanley (yes giraffes have spots and no two have the same pattern), their favorite snack carrots! If up close and personal is not your style, visit our Observation Deck, right above The Grasslands. From the tops of the trees to the forest floor, you will be able to watch each animal from a deck designed especially for you.
Spike s Reptile Territory is on the horizon, and there is no going back! Come meet our friends the reptiles, where everyone here has walked, slithered, or waddled their way to meet you. In this encounter, you will get the chance to touch real reptile armor and feel the thick scales that make these intriguing creatures wonderfully waterproof. From reptiles to insects the journey continues! In Iggy s Insect Encounter you will meet our creepy crawlers up close and personal. The huge tarantulas, spiders, centipedes, millipedes and other insects from around the world have traveled the globe to meet you; you can even touch them if you dare! Through the trees and surrounded by water you notice a jungle boat and a long dock with boats and canoes. Could this be it? Finally! You have found Monkey Island, home to Mojo and her other primate friends. Watch and learn as they swing through the island enjoying their own personal jungle gym. Monkey Island is also home to the Mojo s Enchanted Forest Show where Mojo herself will introduce you to all of her animal friends and entertain you with her many talents.
Hopping back onto the path, your next stop is Kangaroo Cove. Did you know that kangaroos are the only large animals to use hopping as a means of locomotion? In fact, the comfortable hopping speed for some kangaroos is approximately miles per hour! Don t forget to stop by the Enchanted Village where you will encounter a variety of unique animals, including a Capybara (large rodent), Coatiemundi (cousin to the raccoon), Hairy Armadillo (South African insect eaters), Binturong (mysterious tree dwellers), and even an African Crested Porcupine. This village allows you to get up close and personal with these fascinating animals. Knowledgeable wildlife guides will be on hand every day to answer all your questions and inform you about all these exotic creatures. Times will be posted daily, when you are cordially invited to a dinner experience demonstrating the eating habits of these unique animals. At our special feeding sessions, you ll be able to learn about what our animals eat and other interesting facts about all of our enchanted friends. Stick around long enough and as the night falls the twinkling lights in the trees will entice you to our fire show where you will find Zor, our resident fire eater who incorporates martial arts and dance to create an exotic one man Fire show that is quite breathtaking and immediately captivates and inspires the audience with its beauty and showmanship.
