1 Class: Spanish III NOTE: CA 1 will pertain to correct Spanish rather than correct English. Learner Objective (to know) Employ the use of correct basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary in listening, speaking, and writing skills to interpret and convey practical information. Activity (to do) Continue to incorporate basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary from Spanish I and II. Use the correct formation of basic sentence structures (declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, and imperative) and formats (simple, compound, and complex). Assessment Employ the use of correct basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary in paired and group oral activities. Commands Learning Packet Show-Me Standards 1.5, 1.6, 1.10, 2.1, 2.2, CA 1, CA 6 (local) Write letters / notes/ messages to friends and/or key-pals in Spanish. Read, discuss, understand, interpret, and react to a variety of written Spanish formats such as textbook information, newspaper and magazine articles, and Internet information. Use the irregular verbs DECIR, SEGUIR, CONSEGUIR, ACABAR DE, TRAER, PESCAR and OÍR correctly. Use QUE between phrases correctly. Conjugate and use correctly in the present, preterit (past), and imperfect tenses stem changing verbs E>IE, O>UE, U>UE, and E>I. Distinguish between PEDIR and PREGUNTAR and use the verbs correctly. Use INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS correctly with correct placement within a sentence. Employ the use of correct basic Spanish grammar and vocabulary in written assignments. Teacher Observation pass/fail. 2 Correctly use DIRECT and INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS together in a sentence with correct placement. Use the verbs HACER FALTA, PARECER, and IMPORTAR correctly with indirect object pronouns. Make comparisons of items (includes comparative and superlative forms as well as comparisons such as: as much as, more/less than, etc.) Use the past (preterit) tense of selected irregular verbs DAR, ESTAR, IR, and SER. Use the correct form of the irregular past (preterit) tense of selected verbs. Use the definite or indefinite article with clothing and body parts rather than using possessive adjectives, especially, with reflexive verbs. Distinguish between affirmative and negative expressions and utilize them appropriately. Memorize and utilize new vocabulary in a variety of speaking and writing situations. Recognize the meaning of new Spanish vocabulary words as well as relate them to previously learned vocabulary terms. Complete a vocabulary study guide for each lesson. Create written and oral sentences containing key vocabulary words. Utilize a variety of vocabulary words based upon a given situation. Recognize a vocabulary word (noun or adjective) in its diminutive form. Recognize and distinguish between the various forms of a conjugated verb in present, past (preterit) and progressive tenses. Create and present a variety of dialogues with another student or groups of students that utilizes the basic vocabulary.
