Built specifically for cruising Lake Michigan, Mystic Blue can board and disembark from many locations in the Chicago area, including Navy Pier, McCormick Place and the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers. 9 FREQUENTLY ASKED WEDDING QUESTIONS HOW DOES THE BOOKING PROCESS WORK? Once you have decided on a ship, date, and time, your wedding specialist will put together an agreement, which will allow you 48 hours to confirm the space with a 25% deposit. IS THE SHIP PRIVATE TO JUST OUR PARTY? Mystic Blue has four floors that consist of three dining rooms (various sizes) and an observation deck. It is most common for a wedding to rent a private room since the private room sizes vary from a room that can hold up to 60 people with dancing to 350 people. This is similar to renting a ballroom at a hotel, where that space is private but the entire hotel is not. Contact your wedding manager for details on how to rent the entire ship. WHERE DOES THE CEREMONY TAKE PLACE? The ceremony typically takes place on the observation deck overlooking the beautiful Chicago skyline. In the case of inclement weather or winter cruises, the ceremony will take place in the reception room. WILL MY GUESTS GET SEASICK? Seasickness is actually very uncommon on our vessels since they were built for this type of cruising. With a flat-bottom ship, the pitch is much smoother. HOW DOES THE MENU WORK? Mystic Blue features a delicious buffet menu that provides a variety of options. CAN I BRING MY OWN DECORATIONS? You are welcome to bring your own decorations and personalize the space. There are limitations if you do not have a private room but we will work with you on options. IS THERE A REHEARSAL? We do not do rehearsals since a Wedding Coordinator will be there the day of the wedding to tell everyone where they should go and when to walk. An onboard rehearsal is typically not necessary. WHERE DO MY GUESTS PARK? AND IS PARKING INCLUDED? Parking is available right at Navy Pier. Parking is not included. Parking rates are determined by Standard Parking and may change without notice. DO YOU WORK WITH ANY HOTELS IN THE AREA FOR OUT-OF-TOWN GUESTS? We do work with many hotels in the area and will provide you with a list of reccommendations that offer great incentives for our guests. IS THERE MORE THAN ONE WEDDING ON THE SHIP AT THE SAME TIME? Although uncommon, we can have more than one reception on the ship if the space is not privately rented. Because the ceremony packages feature private boarding and dockside time, we cannot perform more than one ceremony on a single cruise. HOW DOES THE ENTERTAINMENT WORK? We include a DJ with our private rooms, which will be hired specifically for your wedding. You will be able to fill out a questionnaire and work with our entertainment department on your specific requests and needs. CAN I BOARD EARLY AND DRESS ON THE SHIP BEFORE THE CEREMONY? You are welcome to bring your dress and change on the ship one hour before the ceremony. Our wedding team will work on the best time for you to arrive.
