1 Year 1 Maths KPIs I can count to numbers which are bigger than 100, going forwards or backwards, starting with any number. e.g. 27,28,29. 74,73,72. I can read and write numbers to 100. I can tell you one more and one less than any number. I can count in 2s, 5s and 10s I can use addition and subtraction facts up to 20. e.g. because I know 3+12=15, I know 15-12=3. I can find half of a shape or number by splitting it into 2 equal parts. I can tell the time for O Clock and half past and I can draw the hands on a clock. I can solve practical problems about lengths and heights, mass or weight and capacity/volume. e.g. I can use scales to find the heaviest of 4 objects or compare objects to find the longest. I can find and name rectangles, circles and squares. (2D shapes) I can find and name cubes, cuboids, pyramids and spheres. (3D shapes)

2 Year 2 Maths KPIs I can count on and back in 10s from any number. e.g. 23, 33, , 103, 93. I can use the symbols <, > and = to compare numbers up to 100. e.g. What symbol would go between 23 and I can solve problems using my knowledge of place value. e.g. What is the biggest number I can make with the digits 5 and 8. I can recall addition and subtraction facts to 20. e.g. Because I know 2+7 = 9, I know 20+70=90 and can work out I can recall and use my 2,5 and 10 times tables. e.g. I recognise even numbers, I know the 10 times tables are the even multiples of 5, I know that because 5x8=40, 40 8=5. I can solve problems with addition and subtraction using objects and pictures where helpful. (Using appropriate mental or written methods) eg. Jane s mum is 32 years older than her. Jane is 6. How old is her mum? I can solve multiplication and division problems using arrays, repeated addition, mental methods, multiplication and division facts. e.g. John buys 6 packs of apples. I can recognise, find, name and write fractions 2/4 and 3/4 of a length, shape, set of objects or number. e.g. I can recognise a rectangle which is split into 4 equal parts and know that 2 of these equal 2/4 and 3 equals 3/4. I can solve simple problems in a practical context involving addition and subtraction of money, including giving change. e.g. I buy a book for 40p and a rubber for 23p. How much change do I get from 1. I can answer questions about data from simple pictograms, tally charts, block diagrams and simple tables. e.g. how many people chose red? I can ask and answer questions about totalling and comparing data. e.g. How many more people chose red than blue? How many people took part in the survey altogether?

3 Year 3 Maths KPIs I can count from 0 in multiples of 4, 8, 50. e.g. 4,8,12,16. 50, 100, 150, 200. I can count from 0 in multiples of 100. e.g. 0, 300, 600, 900, 1200 I can find 10 or 100 more or less than a given number. e.g. What is 10 more than 56? What is 100 less than 349? I can explain the place value of each digit in a three-digit number (hundreds, tens, and ones) e.g. What is the biggest number you can make using the digits 5, 2 and 9. I can solve number problems and practical problems with number and place value. e.g. A path is 750cm long. Paving slabs are 50cm long each. How many paving slabs do I need to lay the path? I can mentally add and subtract numbers including a 3 digit number with ones, tens and hundreds. e.g , 572+6, I can calculate mentally using multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables, including 2 digit times 1 digit numbers. e.g. There are 8 apples in a bag. How many apples in 4 bags? 96 cupcakes are put into boxes of 8. How many boxes are needed? I can recall multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 times tables. e.g. 3x8= 4x9= 21 3= I can use a written method to solve TUxU and TU U calculations. e.g. I can use a grid method to solve 3x27, I can use chunking to solve I can find a fraction of a number where the numerator is 1. e.g. 1/2 of 24, 1/3 of 24, 1/4 of 24, 1/6 of 24. 4 Year 4 Maths KPIs I can count up and down in multiples of 1000 including negative numbers. e.g. 3000, 6000, , 2, 1, 0, -1, -2 I can count in multiples of 6, 7, 9 and 25. I can order and compare numbers beyond e.g. I can put the correct symbol (<, > or =) in 4500? I can round whole numbers to 10,000 to the nearest 10, 100 or e.g to the nearest 100. I can solve real life calculation problems involving 2 step addition and subtraction and explain which methods I have used. e.g. Sarah buys 5 pens costing 99p each. How much change did she get from 5? I can solve calculation problems involving 2 step addition and subtraction deciding which methods to use and why. e.g. Solve by rounding to then adding 3 on and taking 1 away. (18 is a multiple of 3) I can read, write, order and compare numbers with up to three decimal places. e.g. Put these numbers in ascending order, 2.608, 2.86, 2.8, 2.9 I can solve problems using percentages and decimal equivalents. e.g. Which is a better saving, 20% off or pay only 0.75 of the original price? I can convert between different units of metric measure. e.g. Convert 3.1km to 3100m using their knowledge of place value. I can measure the perimeter of a composite rectilinear shape (an L shape made up of 2 rectangles). I can calculate the perimeter of a composite rectilinear shape (an L shape made up of 2 rectangles). 6 Standard Six Targets I can calculate across the zero. e.g. What is the difference between 5 and -9. I can use negative numbers in context. e.g. How much warmer is -2 C than -10 C? I can round whole numbers to to a required degree of accuracy. e.g to the nearest 50, 439,261 to the nearest 10, 100 and I can solve addition and subtraction problems, deciding which operations and methods to use and why. e.g. Jim hires a lawn mower. He has to put down a 25 deposit. It costs 12 for the first day and the 8.50 a day after this. He damaged the blade on a stone and lost 12 of his deposit. How much did it cost him to keep the mower for 3 days? I can multiply numbers up to 4 digits by a 2 digit number using the formal written method of long multiplication. e.g x 23 I can divide numbers up to 4 digits by a 2 digit number using formal methods of short or long division, and interpret remainders according to the context. e.g I can use estimating and rounding to check my answers. I can recall and use equivalences between simple fractions, decimals and percentages. i.e. Know the decimal and percentage equivalents for 1/2s 1/4s 1/3s 1/5s and 1/10s e.g. Know 3/4=75%=0.75 or 3/5 = 60% = 0.6 I can use division in cases where the answer has up to two decimal places. e.g. solve using a chosen method and give the answer to 2 decimal places. I can solve problems which require decimal answers to be rounded to a given degree of accuracy. e.g. I share 20 between 13 people. How much do they each get? (The answer will have to be to 2 decimal places as pence can t be split) I can use, read and write standard units of measure with up to 3 decimal places. I can compare and classify geometric shapes. e.g. sort shapes using headings such as, equal length diagonal lines, regular, 2 pairs of parallel lines, a pair of perpendicular lines. I can find unknown angles and lengths in triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular polygons. e.g. an Isosceles triangle has 2 angles which are 37. What is the missing angle? I can draw and translate simple shapes, and reflect in the axes. e.g. What are the coordinates of point x after the shape has been reflected in the mirror line? What are the new coordinates of point b if the shape has been translated 3 squares up and 5 squares to the right? I can solve problems using pie charts and line graphs. e.g. If the pie chart represents a survey of 300 people, how many people chose red? How long did it take for the temperature to rise by 12 C? I can calculate and interpret the mean as an average. e.g. What is the mean (average) length of all the rivers in England? (Based on a given data set) I can solve problems involving calculation of percentages and the use of percentages for comparison. e.g. Work out whether 20% off 15 or 1/3 off 15 is a better deal and how much each would now cost. I can solve problems involving unequal sharing and grouping using fractions and multiples. e.g. 2/3 of the class are girls. There are 18 girls. How many boys are there? To use simple formulae. e.g. Work out the area of a rectangle using the formula a = lw
