2 AMSTERDAM MARATHON 2012 On Sunday 21st of October 2012 the 37th edition of the Amsterdam Marathon will take place. The route is partly the route from the Olympics of Programmed are the marathon, the Mizuno Half Marathon, 8 km, the 1K Runaway and the Mini Marathon. Last year the athlete Wilson Chebet from Kenia won the marathon. He set a time of This years start and finish will be at the Olympic Stadium, right in front of the seats of honour. The Mizuno Half Marathon starts on the Stadionweg. The 8 km starts on the Stadionplein. Both runs will finish in the Olympic Stadium. The route will be more or less the same as last year. With its many highlights, the route through Amsterdam s city centre would also fit a sightseeing tour at a slower pace. Taking in the Olympic Stadium (built in 1928), the nature reserves on both sides of the river Amstel, the Maritime Museum, the historic canals, Rijksmuseum and the attractive Vondelpark (which will feature twice during the marathon).

8 EXTRA SERVICES Good morning City Run The organization of the Amsterdam Marathon organizes the Good Morning City Run on Saturday October 20. The running guides will guide you in groups of 10 till 15 runners through the city of Amsterdam, on a track of 6,5 km. Here you can enjoy all the historic and touristic attractions along the track. Such as the Amsterdam canals, the Anne Frank house and the red light district. The guides will run in slow pace. To enjoy stands first! (Please note: subject to availability) Participation fee: 10,00 p.p. Pasta Party A Pasta Party will be organized on Saturday October 20. For the price of 15,- you will have an excellent meal. A total number of 750 tickets will be available for the pasta party, so don t wait to long to make a reservation. The pasta party is organized in two shifts: the first shift starts at and ends at hrs, the second shift starts at and ends at hrs.
