1 1 Frameless Shower Screen Front & Return

2 2 Tools & Hardware Needed: You will need to Supply 1 x Metric Tape measure 1 x 1200mm Level 1 x Silicon Gun 1 x Rubber Mallet 1 x Hacksaw 1 x Electric Drill 1 x Phillips Head Screw Driver (or Drill Head) 1 x Stanley Knife 1 x Builders Pencil 1 x Spray bottle with soapy water. We will supply Glass Panels 1 x Tube of Neutral Cure Silicon 1 x Silicon Spatula 1 x Glass Cleaner 1 x 6.5mm Electric Drill Bit 1 x 5mm Allen Key 2 x Door Hinges 2 x 19mm Blocks Wall Brackets Glass Brackets 7mm Green Wall Plugs Wall Screws 1 & 3mm Clear Packers Razor Blade Notes:

3 3 Step 1: Clean the Area Wipe down all wall and floor tiles to ensure that the tiled surface is free from dirt and grout dust. Step 2: Mark out Screen Area Using your tape measure and a Builder s Pencil, mark out on the Shower recess the overall size the Shower Screen. This will be your starting point. Make sure the front of your screen and the return panel will be parallel with any grout lines. Your pencil lines will be the outside edge of the glass. Step 3: Mounting your Wall Brackets to the Leaf Panel. Using a 5mm Allen Key, position the Wall Bracket face plate on the outside edge of the Leaf Panel, in the centre of the hole. This is very important as this will allow for future adjustment. Secure tightly ensuring they are straight and the edge of the bracket is 3mm over from the edge of the glass.

4 4 Step 4: Marking Leaf Panel Holes Place your Leaf Panel on a 1mm packer with the outside edges of your glass just showing the pencil line. Using the spirit level, make sure that your leaf panel is perfectly plumb (vertical) and then mark both holes on the tiles. Step 5: Drill holes & insert plugs Using a 6.5mm glass & tile bit, drill both holes at least 40mm deep. Plug holes with 35mm long, 7mm diameter, wall plugs. Use another plug as an extension to hit the inserted plug further into the hole. This will take pressure away from the surface tile when screwing your brackets to the wall. Step 6: Hanging Leaf Panel Make sure tiles are totally clean of any dust and then place leaf panel back on 1mm packers and screw the top bracket to the wall with a (10 x 1 ¼ stainless steel counter sunk screw. Screw the bottom screw in half way and then gently pull the bottom of the leaf panel away from the wall. Remove the 1mm packer, replace with a 3mm clear packer and then proceed to screw bottom screw all the way. This will lock your leaf panel down tight to the floor. Step 7: IMPORTANT: Fixing your hinges to the leaf panel. Make sure the hinge is in line with the edge of your leaf panel and in the centre of the cut-out. Tighten. Step 8: Hanging your Door If your screen is being fit with a water bar and flap, place your door on two 19mm blocks and gently slide the door closer to the leaf panel making sure they don t touch. Placing a 3mm packer in between the two panels, push together. Check height. The door should be 1.5 to 2mm higher. (Door will drop with time) Tighten. Swing door slowly off the packer blocks and make sure the glass and faceplates clear each other. Install your shower door knob by screwing into place.

5 5 Step 9: Return Panel A) Using a 5mm Allen Key, position the Wall Bracket face plates on the outside edge of the Return Panel, in the centre of the hole. This is very important as this will allow for future adjustment. Secure tightly ensuring they are straight and the edge of the bracket is 3mm over from the edge of the glass. B) Carefully place your Return Panel into position on 1mm packers so that the outside of the glass is in-line with the pencil line previously drawn. Remember: At no time should the glass be in contact with a solid surface. Once the glass is in position, gently close the door being certain that both pieces don t touch. Using 3mm packers between the door and the Return Panel will give ideal gap. C) With the Return Panel held in position, use your spirit level and make sure that it is perfectly plumb (vertical) and then mark the holes for your wall brackets. Using a 6.5mm glass & tile bit, drill both holes at least 40mm deep. Plug holes with 35mm long, 7mm diameter, wall plugs. Use another plug as an extension to hit the inserted plug further into the hole. This will take pressure away from the surface tile when screwing your brackets to the wall. Screw the Top Bracket to the wall. D) When attaching the Bottom Bracket, screw in halfway and then carefully pull the bottom of the Return Panel away from the wall and replace the 1mm packer with a 3mm packer. Now screw the bracket tightly to the wall.

6 6 Step 10: Clean up, Water Bar & Silicone. A) Thoroughly clean up all dust from holes, glass and tiles in preparation for silicone. Clean glass with glass cleaner and paper towel. B) Cut Water Bar 6mm longer than the door width and silicone down between the leaf and return panels directly under the door. C) Silicone the Leaf Panel from one side making sure the silicone goes all the way through and that there are no air bubbles present. Spray soapy water onto the glass, wall and silicone, then squeegee smooth using paper towel and silicone spatula. D) Repeat the above step for the Return Panel and clean any excess from the Water Bar. E) Leave Shower Screen for 48hrs to ensure the silicon has set. Note: Do not touch the screen in this time. F) After 48hrs cut the Water Flap 2mm shorter than the door width and push it into place. Enjoy your shower!
