1 Tailor-made telemaintenance solutions! PlantVisor is the CAREL web-server based monitoring and telemaintenance system server that features flexibility of use and easy access to information and alarm management functions. CAREL has responded to the requirements for local monitoring and remote management, optimisation of maintenance and adaptation to the legislation on food safety, by providing a vast range of solutions: from controllers for refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, to supervisory systems. The solutions proposed by CAREL differ according to the type of installation: PlantVisor Enhanced, PC-based solution, for installations with a maximum of 200 refrigeration and air-conditioning controllers; PlantWatch, solution without requiring a PC for small refrigeration and air-conditioning installations, up to 32 controllers; PlantVisor Enhanced Remote, program for the remote management of the PlantVisor Enhanced and PlantWatch systems. PlantVisor Enhanced Free, limited free-of-charge evaluation version for systems with a maximum of 15 refrigeration and air-conditioning utilities; PlantVisor Free PlantWatch, limited free-of-charge evaluation Remote version, for the management of 10 PlantWatch installations. 2 Web Server functions All the versions of PlantVisor are web servers that can collect the data from the installation and make them available in a web browser. PlantVisor displays HTML pages showing the information as graphs, tables of parameters or critical events, and device status indicators. The numerous connection possibilities are shown to the side: 1. PlantVisor Enhanced can be accessed via modem using PlantVisor Enhanced Remote and/or a PC running Microsoft Internet Explorer. If a LAN is available, the information can also be displayed by other PCs on the same network. 2. PlantVisor Enhanced Remote manages a modem for receiving and forwarding calls to all the local installations: in this way, the data, configurations and operating status of all the installations. 3. PlantVisor can be connected remotely without requiring special software: all that is needed is a PC with a modem and Microsoft Internet Explorer. 4. If an internet connection is available, that data can also be accessed via the web (1), simply using a PC running Microsoft Internet Explorer. 5. PlantWatch can also be connected to PlantVisor Enhanced Remote, simplifying the monitoring of the installations from remote locations.

3 LAN 4 www 1 2 3/4 5 PlantWatch is the complete and integrated solution to the monitoring and remote management requirements of smaller installations. PlantWatch allows installers, managers, technicians and maintenance personnel to monitor refrigeration, air-conditioning, heating and other systems from a remote location, with PlantVisor Enhanced Remote. Up to 32 instruments can be connected to each PlantWatch. PlantWatch records all the desired values, sends faxes, SMS messages, saves the most significant events, prints the data, and can be connected via modem to PlantVisor Enhanced Remote. (1)

4 An overview of PlantVisor... The user interface is very simple and user-friendly, featuring a layout that is very similar to the web. Each user configured has a password that defines the level of authorisation and sections that can be accessed. This is one of the more powerful PlantVisor tools, used for the notification of critical events via: fax, SMS messages, activation of a local device, or calling a remote PC. As soon as the connection to the installation has been established, the pages can be browsed with the same ease as in PlantVisor Enhanced Local.

5 Layout Editor This pawerful editor for the fast and effective creation of customised pages is now available. Layout Editor is included in all versions of PlantVisor, with the exception of the Free versions. The pages show exactly what you want them to. The pages can be made with freely-imported backgrounds and images, so as to create maps of the installation on one or more levels, dynamic representations, diagrams or other documents used to highlight the information, temperatures, operating status and parameters. No programming language knowledge is required to prepare interactive maps and display panels. Custom pages can be created quickly using the library of objects supplied; thermometers, pressure gauges, LEDs and animated images. Adding links to the pages corresponding to the selected device, to the on-line documents or other custom pages is simple and straightforward. Immediately check how the page will look on PlantVisor. With this new tool, the most significant information is highlighted on the page, with the map being set out in the most useful way for the requirements of the installation. Users can customise screens with company logo s and style.

6 PlantVisor Enhanced PlantVisor Enhanced allows the connection of up to 200 CAREL instruments in an RS485 serial network. The innovative web-based interface means that the information required can be accessed extremely easily. It is especially suited to medium-large supermarkets, cold stores, processing rooms, seasoning rooms, and the wine industry. It allows: centralised management on the PC of the controller parameters, for display and modification; signalling of critical events by scheduling the actions to be performed according to the time band (fax, SMS message, activation of a relay, call to the remote PC, ); (1) sampling and recording of the temperature, humidity and pressure values and any abnormal conditions, in compliance with the EU directive, for display or printing; adoption of Retrofit Solutions using the new acquisition modules: I/O module and wireless probes; different levels of authorisation to protect access to the data. PlantVisor Enhanced manages traditional and GSM modems for sending faxes, SMS messages and for remote access using PlantVisor Remote or Internet Explorer. (1) PlantVisor Enhanced Remote PlantVisor Enhanced Remote is the program used to centralise the information from al installations running PlantVisor Enhanced or PlantWatch. PlantVisor Enhanced Remote monitors calls made by the local stations, receiving the configuration, the data saved (from PlantWatch) and highlighting any critical events. PlantVisor Enhanced Remote can be used to connect to the installations so as to modify the parameters of the local instruments or the configuration of the PlantVisor Enhanced (network, scheduler, printouts). PlantVisor Enhanced Remote can communicate with: PlantVisor Enhanced, PlantWatch, and pco sistema controllers with Gateway modem card. PlantVisor Free PlantWatch PlantVisor Free PlantWatch is the limited free-of-charge version of PlantVisor Enhanced Remote, for the centralised management of the information coming from a small network with a maximum of 10 PlantWatch installations. The characteristics of the program are the same as PlantVisor Enhanced Remote, but limited to communication with PlantWatch. PlantVisor Free PlantWatch can be accessed via modem from any PC running Internet Explorer. (1)

7 PlantVisor Enhanced Free PlantVisor Enhanced Free is the limited free-of-charge evaluation version of PlantVisor Enhanced. It maintains all the characteristics of the Enhanced version, however allows the local network connection of just 15 instruments (instead of 200). PlantVisor Enhanced Free can be used to save the data, print reports, and access and modify the parameters. In the event of abnormal operating conditions, PlantVisor Enhanced Free can be programmed to send fax or SMS message to a pre-set number, or alternatively an message. (1) PlantVisor Enhanced Free and the instruments connected can be accessed via modem from any PC running Internet Explorer. (1) Pc-GATE Caracteristics serial conversion from RS232 to RS485, two wire plus shield, for PlantVisor Enhanced; maximum speed 19,000 baud; maximum 200 peripherals; watchdog for communication with the computer: a relay with changeover contacts is energised if there is no communication with the PC. The relay can then be connected to any 230 Vac device for signalling that the supervisor functions are no longer active; RS485 line amplifier/branch using the one RS485 input and two RS485 output ports, used to: - extend the line over 1000 metres; - add branches, making the layout of the installation simpler and more economical; possibility to connect two Pc-GATE modules in cascading; desktop or DIN rail installation.
