1 InfrmatinNOW Parent Prtal Abut this Guide This Quick Reference Guide prvides an verview f the ptins available thrugh a parent/guardian lgin t InfrmatinNOW. Nte: Depending n hw a student s schl utilizes InfrmatinNOW, sme f the fllwing ptins may nt be available. Lgin T btain a parent/guardian lgin t InfrmatinNOW, please cntact the schl. Users must receive a user name and passwrd, as well as the Web site URL, t access the prgram. T lg in, pen a Web brwser windw. G t the Web site URL as given by the schl t access InfrmatinNOW. Enter the User Name and Passwrd. Click Lgin. The first time a user lgs in, it may be necessary t reset the passwrd fr security purpses. If necessary, enter the ld passwrd. Then enter the new passwrd and retype it in the space prvided. Click OK t save the changes. Nte: If the user has frgtten the passwrd and has an address n file with the schl, click the Frgt yur passwrd? link. Enter the user name and the last fur digits f the Scial Security Number n file. 2 Hme Page The hme page will initially display, listing all annuncements fr the schl and/r district. Sme annuncements may include a hyperlink t mre details. The user may als use the Lgut ptin in the upper right hand crner t exit InfrmatinNOW. It is recmmended that users exit InfrmatinNOW when finished t prtect cnfidential infrmatin. Selecting a Different Child If the user has mre than ne child enrlled in a schl in the district, click the drp-dwn list in the upper right hand crner t select a different student. Selecting a Different Academic Sessin Each year a student is enrlled in a schl in the district, he r she is enrlled in a different academic sessin (schl year). 3 Schl Calendar T view the schl calendar, click the Schl Calendar link at left. By default, the events and attendance days will display fr the current schl/academic sessin and mnth. Nn-attendance days appear in gray. Events appear as a blue link. Regular attendance days appear with the type f day and hurs f peratin. Mnth: T view a different mnth, either select the mnth frm the available list r use the navigatin arrws t scrll t the previus r next mnth. Events: T view events nly, bullet the Events ptin. Events such as sprting activities will display. T view the details f the event, click the name f the event that appears as a blue link (ex.: Sprt Awards Banquet). Schedule: T view attendance days nly, bullet the Schedule ptin. Attendance days will display with the hurs f peratin fr that day. Fr schls that have a rtating schedule, the apprpriate day cde will display (ex.: A Day, B Day, Red Day, Green Day). Fr schls with a traditinal schedule type, the name f the day (ex.: Regular Day, Early Dismissal) will display. Bth: T view data fr bth events and schedule, bullet the Bth ptin. 4 Student Infrmatin Attendance Click the Attendance link n the left t view attendance details, including Date, Term, Perids, Level (All Day, Half Day, Tardy), Reasn, Categry (Excused, Unexcused) and Ntes. T view details, click the date f the absence. All absences fr the year will display by default. T view nly ne term, select the term frm the list. Click the link t View Perid Absences. Click the link t View Check In/Out recrds. Demgraphic Infrmatin Click the Demgraphic link n the left t view the student s demgraphic data, including Persnal, Origin/Residency, Address(s), Identificatin and Services. 5 If any infrmatin is incrrect, please cntact the schl ffice. Discipline Click the Discipline link n the left t view the student s discipline recrds, including Date, Infractin, Infractin Occurrence (i.e., if this is the 3 rd vilatin fr skipping, a number 3 will display), Demerits, Dispsitin, Dispsitin Occurrence (i.e., if this is the 3 rd Saturday detentin, a number 3 will display) and Date. 6 Grades Click the Grades link n the left t view the student s grade infrmatin, including the Curse, Teacher, Perid(s), Average, Activities r grading perid (i.e., 1 st 9 weeks) grade Details. Grading Perid: Click the drp-dwn arrw t select a different grading perid. A: Click t view the individual activities and details fr this class, such as hmewrk assignments, quiz r test grades. Click the + sign next t an activity t view the details. Click the Prgress Reprt buttn t print a reprt fr this class. Nte: InfrmatinNOW utilizes Adbe Acrbat Reader t display reprts. In rder t view r print these reprts, the user may need t install the free versin f Adbe Acrbat Reader, available at D: Click t view reprt card grades fr the selected grading perid and class. Requests Click the Requests link n the left t view any curse requests fr the selected academic sessin (schl year). T insert a new request, click Add. Enter search criteria and click Next. If n criteria are selected, all curses will display. Place a check next t the curse(s) t request and click Create. Requests will be entered in a status f Pending until apprved by the schl. Requests will display in a status f Pending (Awaiting Apprval P), Apprved (A) r Rejected (R). If the request has nt yet been apprved r rejected by the schl, the user may delete it by placing a check next t the request and clicking Delete. 7 Schedule Click the Schedule link n the left t view the student s schedule, including the Curse Name, Teacher, Perid(s) f day, Days, Terms and Rm. T view nly ne term f curses, select the term frm the list. Reprts Nte: InfrmatinNOW utilizes Adbe Acrbat Reader t display reprts. In rder t view r print these reprts, the user may need t install the free versin f Adbe Acrbat Reader, available at T generate a reprt, select it frm the list n the left, then select the grading perid (if available) and click View Reprt. Cmprehensive Prgress: A list f activity grades such as hmewrk, quizzes r tests. Reprt Card: A reprt f the student s reprt card grades, such as quarter grades and cmments. Standards Reprt Card: A standards-based reprt card including marks fr certain standards such as Able t tie shes r Able t evaluate mathematic strategies f thers. 8 System Preferences Alerts Attendance: Check if yu wuld like t receive an alert when yur child is marked all day absent, half day absent r tardy t schl. Discipline: Check if yu wuld like t receive an alert when yur child has been given a discipline recrd at their schl. Grades: Check t receive an if: Yur child receives a failing reprt card grade. Yur child s verall average f assignments such as hmewrk, quizzes and tests drps belw passing. G Green: As a guardian, yu may elect t. G Green participants will receive an frm the schl annuncing when reprts such as reprt cards r prgress reprts are available fr viewing nline. A printed reprt will nt be sent t G Green participants. Persnal Users must enter a primary address t receive alerts. Change Passwrd: T change the passwrd that is used t lg in t InfrmatinNOW, enter the new passwrd and then retype the passwrd in the field prvided. Passwrds must meet the fllwing criteria: Must be a minimum f eight alpha-numeric characters in length. Must cntain at least ne number and ne letter. Cannt be passwrd, pass, administratr r admin.
