2 Overview The following document outlines the System Requirements needed to install and operate the Munis Version 10.5 software. There have been many technology changes that may impact your ability to run the latest Munis Version 10.5 software suite, so please review this document carefully. In general, Tyler Technologies will support Munis running on versions of Operating Systems and Databases that are supported by their manufacturer. If a specific OS or Database version has been discontinued, installation services and support on the particular platform will be limited. Page 2 of 13

3 for Munis The following Operating Systems are supported for the Munis Version 10.5 Release. If there are any questions regarding your current OS version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. Tyler Technologies recommends 64-bit Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Windows Versions 64 bit Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard & Datacenter 64 bit Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Standard & Datacenter Non- Windows 2008 (all versions) Windows 2003 (all versions) Windows 2000 (all versions) RedHat LINUX (all versions) SuSE LINUX (all versions) HP-UX (all versions) Sun Solaris (all versions) IBM AIX (all versions) SCO OpenServer UNIX (all versions) SCO Unixware UNIX (all versions) *NOTE: Tyler is strongly recommending securing all Munis application servers with a 128-bit SSL certificate. A SSL certificate ensures network traffic is encrypted and secured. Not implementing a SSL certificate may allow passwords and other sensitive information to be transmitted in clear text across the network. There are a variety of options and vendors available for SSL certificate. If you need further assistance, please contact our installation coordinator (installation.coordinator@tylertech.com) to discuss which option is most suitable for your organization. Page 3 of 13

4 for Munis The following Databases are supported for the Munis Version 10.5 Release. If there are any questions regarding your current database version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. Tyler Technologies recommends 64-bit Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Microsoft SQL Server Versions Non- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (all editions) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (all editions) Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (all editions) IBM Informix (all versions and editions) Oracle (all versions and editions) Technical Notes for the Munis Application Database Configuration Requirements The following database settings must be configured and enabled to run the Munis Version 10.5 product: Microsoft SQL Server must have row level versioning turned on for all Munis databases Hard Drive Space Requirements Munis Version 10.5 requires at least 2.5 GB of free space for the Munis Application and at least one times the size of the live database for transaction log and database growth requirements. Please contact our Support department if your server does not meet these space requirements. Virtualization Tyler Technologies supports both the VMWare Infrastructure virtualization product and Microsoft Hyper-V for virtualizing Windows servers. It is a requirement that a high performance Storage Area Network (SAN) or RAID 10 direct attached storage must be used when configuring a virtualized solution and the system should be configured such that virtualized guests are given dedicated memory. Most virtualized installations will require customized hardware configurations. Please contact your sales representative to be directed to the appropriate Tyler technical resource that will be able to assist in hardware selection. Tyler Technologies currently does not offer any training or installation services for the VMWare Infrastructure product or the Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization product. Page 4 of 13

6 Apple MAC Support Apple MAC machines are supported with the Tyler Dashboard application using the Microsoft Silverlight plugin. There are some limits to Munis functionality, so please refer to the client options document on our knowledgebase that details what features will not work with this configuration: Apple MAC Hardware Requirements Minimum* Recommended Operating System OS X 10.7 OS X 10.8 Processor 1.8 Ghz Intel 2.5+ Ghz Intel Memory 2 GB RAM 4+ GB Disk Space 50 MB 100 MB Screen Resolution 1024 x x 800 *NOTE: Meeting the minimum requirements will ensure the Tyler applications will operate, but will not guarantee performance. All performance and benchmark testing is done with PC s that meet (or exceed) the recommended hardware configuration. Supported MAC PC Web Browsers 32 bit Safari 6.1 (with auto-updates enabled) and Microsoft Silverlight 5.1 Microsoft Office for MAC 32 bit Microsoft Office 2011 ** NOTE: Microsoft Office 2011 for MAC does not support any connections to SQL OLAP cubes. Due to this Microsoft limitation, MAC users will not be able to access our Tyler Cubes. Page 6 of 13

7 Tyler Dashboard v6.1 Application Server Requirements The following Operating Systems and databases are supported for the Tyler Dashboard v6.1 Application. Please note that not all of our customers own this module. If you are interested in learning more about our role tailored Dashboard product offering, please visit our Tyler Knowledgebase or contact your account representative for a demonstration. Tyler Technologies recommends Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Please note, the Tyler Dashboard v6.1 product uses Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Tyler Dashboard v5.8 Application Server Requirements The following Operating Systems and databases are supported for the Tyler Dashboard v5.8 Application. Tyler Technologies recommends Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit - Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (w/ Service Pack 2) Standard & Enterprise 64 bit - Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (w/ Service Pack 2) Standard & Enterprise Please note, the Tyler Dashboard v5.8 product uses Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Page 7 of 13

8 Munis Self Service Web Server Requirements The following Operating Systems are supported for the Munis Self Service Web Server. If there are any questions regarding your current OS version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. Tyler Technologies recommends Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 32 and 64 bit - Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard & Enterprise NOTE: Munis Self Service has no specific database version requirements. Munis Self Service requires Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) for the web server. Page 8 of 13

9 Tyler Content Manager (4.1) Server Requirements The following Operating Systems and Databases are supported for the Tyler Content Manager product. If there are any questions regarding your current OS version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. Tyler Technologies recommends Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 R2. PC Requirements ** NOTE: A dedicated scanning machine must meet the recommended PC server specifications (or better). For additional information, please see the Munis PC requirements (page 6). Page 9 of 13

10 Tyler Cashiering 2.8 System Requirements The following Operating Systems and Databases are supported for the Tyler Cashiering product. If there are any questions regarding your current OS version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. PC Requirements ** NOTE: Tyler Cashiering is a PC application with a centralized SQL database. A Tyler Cashiering s PC requirements must meet (or exceed) the Recommended hardware PC specifications (see page 6). 32 and 64 bit - Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard & Enterprise Page 10 of 13

11 Tyler Incident Management (v2.3) System Requirements The following Operating Systems and Databases are supported for the Tyler Incident Management product. If there are any questions regarding your current OS version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. Tyler Parks and Rec (v1.3) System Requirements The following Operating Systems and Databases are supported for the Tyler Parks and Rec product. If there are any questions regarding your current OS version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. 12 Tyler Cubes System Requirements The following Databases are supported for the Tyler cubes product. If there are any questions regarding your current database version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. Supported Clients 32 bit - Microsoft Office 2013, 2010, or 2007 (Excel) using Windows Vista/7/8 as the operating system ** NOTE: Tyler Cubes requires SQL Analysis Services and SQL Integration Services for cube creation. Access SQL OLAP cubes designed by Tyler using Excel. Page 12 of 13

13 Munis Maplink System Requirements The following Operating Systems, Databases, and GIS systems are supported for the Munis Maplink product. If there are any questions regarding your current environment version, please call OSDBA Support at as they will be able to offer contracted customers a pro-active check of your system. Windows Versions Supported GIS Systems ESRI ArcGIS for Server 10.0, 10.1, and 10.2 Standard & Advanced PC Requirements ** NOTE: Munis Maplink requires Silverlight on the PC. For additional information, please see the Munis PC requirements (see page 6). What s Next? If your existing server meets the requirements listed above, you are ready to install Munis Version Tyler Technologies recommends installing the software into a test environment to start. If your existing server does not meet the requirements listed above, please contact our OSDBA Support Department at , your Sales Representative, or the Tyler Technologies Installation Coordinator at installation.coordinator@tylertech.com for migration options.
