4 1. VRD - key points to note c d e f g h i j k l m VRD llows you to connect to Herert Smith Freehills virtul mchine nd work s if you were in the office. Items stored loclly on your computer hrd-disk (e.g. My Documents folder, Outlook personl folders) will not e ville. Specilist softwre such s Microsoft Visio nd LserForms will not e ville. It is possile to connect USB memory stick on Windows computers only. Access to the VRD softwre does not men tht you utomticlly hve permission to work from home. If you need to work t home, then you must ensure tht you re le to crry out your duties t home nd hve otined permission from the pproprite person in dvnce. The VRD session will timeout fter 3 hours of keyord nd mouse inctivity. Access to Herert Smith Freehills systems will timeout fter 24 hours irrespective of ctivity. This process cnnot e interrupted, ut you will e le to log ck in to Herert Smith Freehills systems immeditely for further 24 hour period. Users of wireless rodnd connections my experience occsionl disruption due to the wireless signl not lwys eing continuous. If the signl is lost for couple of seconds, this my e enough time for the VRD session to e disconnected. When working within the VRD it is importnt to sve documents regulrly. If you ecome disconnected then you hve 3 hours to reconnect to resume working. If you do not reconnect within three hours then the Herert Smith Freehills virtul mchine will reset nd ny unsved work will e lost. If you hve een regulrly clicking on Sve s you work on your documenttion it my e possile to retrieve recent copy of your document from your U: drive. If you lose your connection to VRD you my prefer to contct your regionl IS Helpdesk / Service Desk immeditely to retrieve your documents efore logging ck in. Documents must e sved into WorkSite or to your U: drive. Any loclly sved documents will e lost. Browsing the Internet within the VRD cn reduce performnce on certin Wesites. If you wish to rowse the internet plese minimise VRD nd use the we rowser ville to your PC, lptop or device. If opening lrge PDF files with pictures you my experience slowness while the imges re eing downloded. es/ _1 1

First time user to VRD If you hve never used this new version of VRD on your ipd you will need to: Downlod the VMwre View client nd; Instll the VMwre View client; Plese note tht you will need to do this on ech ipd tht you wnt VRD to e ville on. Refer to section 4.1 for informtion on how to do this. 3. Returning user to VRD If you hve lredy downloded nd instlled VMwre View client on your ipd (see section 2) then you re returning user to VRD. Proceed to section 4.3 for informtion on how to use VRD on your ipd: 4. VRD for ipd 4.1 Downloding nd instlling the VMwre View Client You will only need to downlod nd instll the VMwre View Client once. However if you wish to use different ipd to ccess VRD, you will need to instll the VMwre View client on ech different ipd. Open sfri nd go to the wesite: UK, EMEA: Asi: Click the link to ccess the downlod links c Select the AppStore link, this will tke you to the Apple Store. es/ _1 2

VMwre View Client will downlod nd instll f Set up the Herert Smith Freehills server connection s shown in section Setting up the Herert Smith Freehills Server This set up only needs to e done once fter you hve downloded nd instlled the VMwre View Client s shown in section 4.1 of this guide. Tp the VMwre View client icon from the lst screen on your ipd es/ _1 3

Trouleshooting for ipd 5.1 Locl nd Network Printing When using VRD, you cnnot print to locl printers (ie printers other thn your work printer). 5.2 Server connection error If you ttempt to connect to VMwre view nd you do not hve n internet connection you will get the following messge: The View Connection Server connection filed. Could not connect to the server. Vertify tht the View Connection Server ddress nd network settings re correct. 5.3 Externl Keyords nd Input Devices The ipd Keyord Dock externl keyord is utomticlly detected y View Client. To use the Apple Wireless Keyord (Bluetooth) with View desktop, you must first pir the device with the ipd. After the devices re pired, to mke the ipd detect the wireless keyord, either tp the ipd screen with three fingers t the sme time or tp the Keyord utton on the View Client toolr. Also with the Apple Wireless Keyord (Bluetooth), fter the externl keyord is detected, you cnnot use the View Client toolr or three-finger tp to disply the onscreen keyord. You must first dectivte the externl keyord y pressing its Eject key. 5.4 Interntionl Keyords For View Client for ipd 1.0, only English-lnguge keyords re supported. For View Client for ipd 1.2 nd lter, you cn input chrcters for the following lnguges: English, Jpnese, French, Germn, Simplified Chinese, nd Koren. 5.5 Stop the Keyord from utomticlly ppering Tp the menu utton to disply the menu items From the group of icons displyed tp the Options icon es/ _1 7

In 3G network, VMwre View Client runs in the ckground for one minute. You cn copy nd pste plin text etween tlet ppliction nd View desktop or etween two View desktops. Text tht you copy to your tlet's Clipord is utomticlly copied to your View desktop's Clipord when you log in to the View desktop. 14 6. Other requirements for VMwre View Client 6.1 VMwre View Client You will need to instll the VMwre View Client in order to ccess the Herert Smith Freehills systems. This softwre is ville for downlod, instructions cn e found in section 4.1 of this guide. 6.2 RSA SecurID token You will require n RSA SecurID token efore you re le to ccess the remote systems for Herert Smith Freehills. Plese contct your regionl IS Helpdesk / Service Desk for further ssistnce. Contct detils cn e found on the reverse of this guide. 6.3 Other softwre connected to the internet Plese close ny softwre ppliction tht utomticlly uplods or downlods content from the Internet s this could impct the usility of VRD. For exmple: itunes. For more informtion, plese refer to the IS help nd support on the Intrnet. es/ _1 11
