1 ADMISSION TO THE TWO-YEAR MASTER S DEGREE COURSE IN ENGLISH IN ARCHITECTURE- INTERIOR DESIGN AND FOR AUTONOMY AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND INDUSTRIAL DESIGN OF THE SECOND UNIVERSITY OF NAPLES, ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015 Art. 1 PLACES AVAILABLE For the academic year 2014/2015, there is the selection for admission to the biennial Master s Degree Course in English in Architecture - Interior Design and for Autonomy, class LM-4 (Class of Master of Science in Architecture and Building Engineering - Architecture), at the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design of the Second University of Naples, for n. 80 places for Italian citizens, EU citizens and non-eu citizens resident in Italy under art. 26 of Law 189/02*. *Foreigners who hold a residence permit or a residence permit for employment or self-employment, for family reasons, political asylum, humanitarian asylum, or for religious reasons, or foreigners legally resident for at least one year in possession of a degree obtained in Italy, as well as foreigners, wherever resident, who are holders of diplomas from Italian schools abroad or foreign or international schools, in Italy or abroad, subject of bilateral Understandings or special regulations for the recognition of qualifications and comply with the general conditions required for entry to study. ========================================================================================== Art. 2 REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION There are 80 places on the two-year Master s Degree Course in English in Architecture - Interior Design and for Autonomy LM-4 (Class of the Degrees in Architectural Science and Building Engineering - Architecture), for Italian citizens, EU citizens residing anywhere and non-eu citizens under art. 26 of Law n. 189/02, who hold a Class 4 Bachelor s Degree, according to D.M. 509/99 (now Class L-H, according to the D.M. 270/04), awarded from any Italian Faculty, or other equivalent qualification obtained abroad. For anyone holding a Bachelor s Degree in another class, admission is conditional to the admission selection process to degree courses as established by the Profession of Architects, according to current European legislation, in whatever Italian Department, and the consequent positioning in the classification and possession with reference to the individual disciplines of at least 108 credits (CFU) as set out by the DM 16/03/2007 for the Degree Class L-H in Architectural Science. The presence of any debts preclude admission to the Master s Degree. Participants must fulfil the admission requirements, referred to in this Article, on the date of submission of the application form. In the event that the number of applications received, in the terms referred to in art. 3, should be lower than the number of places available, candidates who have applied and fulfill the admission requirements will be admitted under the terms set out in art. 7. The University reserves the right to extend the deadline for the submission of the application, in order to fill the remaining places.

2 Art. 3 APPLICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION PROCESS The application form must be submitted exclusively on-line by candidates as set out in art. 2 of this Notice (sito: - Servizi on line > Studenti> Concorsi on line - cliccare su > Accedi al servizio), from 28, 2014 and no later than pm on November 4, The electronic submission of applications will be disabled from 12:00 pm on November 4, 2014 and, therefore, after this deadline, it will not be possible to complete the application form. Failure to submit the application in the aforesaid terms and in the manner set out below constitute grounds for disqualification. To participate in the selection, participants are required, on pain of exclusion, to pay a participation fee of Such payment must be made at any bank through with a MAV form, which will be generated after the completion of the on-line application form or online in accordance with the instructions provided in the aforementioned electronic procedure. Registration for the selection is deemed complete only after payment of the fee, according to the terms and in the manner set out in this Notice. This payment will not be refunded under any circumstances and is only valid for the selection which is being applied for. The guide on the procedure for compiling, recording and printing on-line applications for participation in the selection will be published by July 28, The application may be submitted - 24 hours non-stop - from any network-connected computer. For those who have no other means of access to the Internet, the University will, as of , make a computer available at the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design, located in Aversa at the Convent of San Lorenzo Septimum during the opening days (Monday and Wednesday from 13:30 to 15:30 and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday ). During the month of August, the Students Registry will be open to the public from Monday to Friday pm and will be closed to the public from 11 to 22 August 2014 inclusive. Applicants holding a foreign degree must also submit to the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design, located in Aversa in Via San Lorenzo within the expiry date of this notice, during the opening hours (Mondays and Wednesdays 13:30 to 15:30 and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9:00 to 12:00), the application for recognition of foreign degrees, attaching the following documents: a) Application for recognition of the foreign academic qualification possessed addressed to the Rector of the Second University of Naples; b) Original of the secondary school qualification to enter the university that issued the degree; c) Original analytical certificate of the university examinations issued by the aforementioned universities; d) Programs of each examination; e) Original copy of academic qualification; f) Receipt certifying payment of the amount for the recognition of foreign degrees for the academic year 2014/2015 amounting to 258.

3 The documents in points b) c) d) and e) shall be provided with an official translation, for those related to points b) and e) is provided for the legalization and shall be accompanied by a declaration of local value by the Italian Diplomatic-Consular in the State in which the qualifications are issued, which will also confirm the authenticity of the documents referred to in paragraphs c) and e). Art. 4 CRITERIA AND PROCEDURE FOR THE APPOINTING OF A COMMISSION IN CHARGE OF THE ADMISSIONS TEST AND THE HEAD OF THE PROCEDURE The Commission responsible for the evaluation of the applications shall be appointed on the recommendation of the Board of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design and consist of at least five members. It will eventually be divided into sub-committees. The commission is left all responsibility for the smooth running of the selection procedure and the definition of the relative ranking according to the procedures and criteria set out in this Notice. All the procedures carried out by the Committee shall be reported in the appropriate minutes, initialed on each page and signed by the Chairman and all the members of the committee. Pursuant to art. 4 of Law n. 241 of (New rules of administrative procedure and the right of access to administrative documents) and the University Regulations for the implementation of the Act 241/90 (by DR n. 713 of 25/03/2011 ) the Head of the entire selection procedure will be appointed, which is not the responsibility of the Selection Committee, the Head of the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design, Dr. Michela Schettino. Applicants have the right of access to documentation relating to insolvency proceedings in accordance with current legislation. The members of the Commission and the Head of the selection procedure, prior to accepting the appointment, must, after consultation of the records containing the names of candidates invited to participate in the selection, release a statement claiming not to have any kinship or affinity up to the fourth degree inclusive with them as well as not hold a political office. Art. 5 ITALIAN LANGUAGE TEST FOR FOREIGN CANDIDATES - DELETED Except in the cases of exemption expressly provided for by current legislation and ministerial regulations, foreign candidates applying for the first time for admission to an Italian university, in order to be admitted to any registration, shall be eligible to an Italian language test that will be carried out on September 2, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design. Non-EU candidates resident abroad must present bring one of the following documents when taking the test : passport with Entry visa for study purposes or residence permit or receipt of the request of a residence permit, if the permit has not been released yet.

4 Art. 6 FINAL CLASSIFICATION The Commission shall draw up a general classification of merit, on the basis of the order of priorities and criteria listed below: 1. Mark of the academic qualification pertaining to Class 4 or Class L-17 or other equivalent academic qualification obtained abroad, if there is a tie the younger candidate will be awarded a place; 2. Mark of the academic qualification pertaining to another Class other than those referred to in paragraph 1, after verification of the requirements of Article. 2 of this selection, if there is a tie the younger candidate will be awarded a place. The general classification will be posted on the Notice-board of the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design students on 18/11/2014 by 4.00pm. This publication constitutes official notification to all those concerned, to all intents and purposes. The general classification will also be published on the university website: In the event that the number of applications received is less than the number of places available, the candidates who meet the requirements set out in this Notice will be admitted under the terms set out in art. 7. Art. 7 ADIMISSION OF CANDIDATES The winners of the selection, who are in a good position on the general merit classification, taking into account the number of places available under article 1 of this Notice, must go (either in person or through a delegate) to the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design in Aversa in Via San Lorenzo - from to at 12:00pm during the opening hours (Monday and Wednesday 13:30-15:30 and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday ) with an enrollment form duly filled in by typewriter or in block letters, on the appropriate form available on the website (Servizi On-line > Studenti >Modulistica - cliccare su > Accedi al servizio > modulistica comune alle Segreterie) and other documents listed in the same application form as well as certificates of payment of university fees required for the registration. Registration or documentation sent by fax or postal service or other service equivalent will not be accepted. No registration of those entitled under the terms provided for above, involves forfeiture of the right to register for the academic year 2014/15 to Master s Degree Course in English in Architecture - Interior Design and for Autonomy relating to the class LM -4 (Class of Master of Science in Architecture and Building Engineering - Architecture) of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design of the Second University of Naples. The courses have compulsory attendance and will start sub-condition for ascertaining the curricular requirements and merit for access to the degree course.

5 Art. 8 GOING DOWN THE RANKING REMAINING PLACES AT THE END OF THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE If, after the deadline of 28/11/2014 there are remaining places, the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design shall, according to the ranking of the classification of merit to be published on the list of those entitled to register as a result of the going down of the classification. The persons entitled as a result of going down the classification, may present, to the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design starting from and no later than 19/12/2014, during the opening hours of the aforementioned Student Registry a registration application as set out in the preceding article. In the event that on the registration deadline (19/12/2014) there are vacant places, there will be no further going down the classification and these places will remain empty. Art.9 INFORMATION ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA For information concerning the processing of the personal data of candidates (art. 13 of Leg. 30/06/03 n. 196 Code regarding personal data ), refer to the text in Annex 3 of the D.M. 15/06/2011 (the aforesaid information is available on the website of the Ministry of Education, at and to the Regulations of this University on the treatment of sensitive and judicial data. Art.10 PUBLICATION This notice is published in today s date, at the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design and is also available on the website of this university, at The above publication is officially notified to the interested parties in respect with the law. All the publications referred to in this Notice have the value of official notification to all interested parties in respect to the law and legal consequences. Therefore, this publication exempts the University from sending notifications and personal communications to the candidates. Candidates are entitled to exercise the right of access to the records and documentation of the insolvency proceedings (limited to the acts and documentation of the selection procedure and competence in possession of this University) according to the provisions of Law 241/90 as amended and supplemented by the law of 11 February 2005 and in accordance with the provisions of University regulations for the implementation of the said law 241/90 (issued with DR 713 of ) and the University Regulations for the discipline of the exclusion and deferral of the right of access to administrative documents (issued with DR 878 of ).

6 Art.11 FINAL REGULATIONS By virtue of the provisions of the MIUR prot. n. 539 of , the places reserved for non-eu citizens resident abroad which would be left empty at the end of the procedure cannot be allocated to EU citizens and, therefore, will remain so. For all matters not expressly provided in this notice, please refer to the laws, regulations and ministerial decrees mentioned in the introduction. The obligation of compliance with the terms and provisions set out in this Notice is reaffirmed. The University reserves the right to exclude at any time candidates taking part in the selection opened pursuant to this Notice for failure to comply with the terms specified therein or issued or to lack of requirements of the candidates. Art. 12 LEGAL JURISDICTION Against the contents of this measure, appeals may be made to the T.A.R responsible for the matter, within 60 days of publication of the Notice in the Student Registry of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design of the Second University of Naples.
