Adoption of Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 17 December 2010 (App A) There being no comments, the minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 17 December 2010 were proposed for adoption by Franklin YU and seconded by Tony TANG. The minutes were confirmed as a true record. 3. Matters Arising from Minutes of Annual General Meeting held on 17 December 2010 There were no matters arising from the Annual General Meeting held on 17 December Report from the Honorary Secretary (AppB) The Honorary Secretary updated members on the recent developments in the 6 Boards in the first quarter of 2010 with a Power-Point presentation. Members were encouraged to read the details from the full report which was uploaded onto the front page of on 30 March Report from the Honorary Treasurer The Hong Kong Institute of Architects The First Quarterly General Meeting _31 March
3 The Honorary Treasurer reported that the income showed HK$12 million income from April February HKIA anticipated that staff operation cost and renting cost of HKIA Premises would be on the increase. This year, there will be more spending on celebration of HKIA 55 th Anniversary. Members were encouraged to read the details from the full report which was uploaded onto the front page of on 30 March Report from the President (AppC) The President thanked Honorary Secretary for the quarterly report. The President s Report with highlights of key issues in the first quarter of 2011 was job training for young members, Council Courtesy to Beijing, CEPA, setup of College of Fellows Task Group, HKIA 55 th Anniversary Conference & Ball on 5 November 2011, Architecture Week, etc. Members were encouraged to read the details from the full report which was uploaded onto the front page of on 22 March Report by the Honorable Patrick LAU, SBS, JP, Legco Member for Functional Constituency Architectural, Surveying and Planning (App D) The Honorable Patrick LAU, SBS, JP reported that the LegCo Panel on Development discussed the following: Companies Bill Competition Bill Buildings Energy Efficiency (Fees) Regulation and Buildings Energy Efficiency Regulation (Work completed) Members were invited to read the details of report, which was uploaded onto the front page of on 28 March A Speech by Mr Barry CHEUNG Chun-yuen, GBS, JP, Chairman of Urban Renewal Authority (URA) Ada Fung, Vice President welcomed and introduced Mr. Barry CHEUNG as the speaker of the first QGM. The topic of his speech was A New Era of Urban Renewal. Mr Cheung completed a recent survey of Urban Decay in Hong Kong and briefly explained how to tackle the problem with a number of strategies such as Rehabilitation, Redevelopment, Revitalisation and Preservation.
