2 Welcome from the Duty Elder - Carolyn Orr Call to Worship Holy Spirit, you came as a song into the world's silence and you come to us today, touching our secret hopes and longings. May we not fear your music but let it settle deep within us, that we, too, may sing individually and together. Knowing that however weak our voices, however much they waiver, you are the eternal music that plays above us, beneath us and around us. Drawing us deeper into the mystery of the song that death can never silence even the song of Pentecost. Make a joyful noise to the Lord A prayer of praise and thanksgiving Make a joyful noise to the Lord. Praise him with everything you have. Praise him with your voice, your music and the things you enjoy. Make a joyful noise to the Lord. Praise him with your whole being. Praise him with everything you stand for and everything you hold dear.

Hymn: I want to walk with Jesus 367 It is a good lesson for us all!, Prayer of Approach - Lisa God of time and eternity, who inspired the prophets with your word and gave them the will to speak to your people, we gather in your name and seek your blessing on the mission of this community. May we listen and resolve, celebrate and sing, in the knowledge of your love and of your gracious calling. Make us prophets to discern your will, disciples to understand it and apostles to share it, inspired by your spirit. 4 Offertory Prayer - Carolyn Receive from our hands, God Our small gifts, just as you received the bread and fishes from the child on the hillside. Take, too, what little we have of faith and love and hope. Bless them, break them and distribute them so that people may take until they are satisfied by the abundance of your love, and worship you, source of all life and prosperity and peace. Chorus Lynne s reflection read by Amanda This is the day. Last September I was lucky enough to be able to trek up and down Kilimanjaro and this hymn was my unexpected companion. I d be walking along and there it would be inside my head and I d find myself humming it or singing it. When I was looking at something wondrous like seeing Kenya through the clouds, or a monkey in a tree, there it would be. When I was struggling up to the top of the mountain concentrating on nothing other than putting one foot in front of the next, there it was and when the sun rose on top of the mountain and it seemed like I could see the curvature of the world, This is the day was with me.

6 That was the day when I wondered at the beauty of God s Kingdom, being in landscapes which included lush plantations, jungles, heathland and barren moonscapes. The day when I was grateful for the quiet support of the porters paid no more than $2 a day they were there for us, carrying all our equipment many without shoes or in shoes that were worn out, encouraging us quietly through words, touch or song, bring us water washing and special tea. The day when I was grateful for the love and support of my friends and family back home who d supported and sponsored me and were with me in my heart keeping me going. I was grateful also for the support and friendship I experienced in our trekking community the mountain leaves you bare and there were many emotional moments for all of us, and always someone there beside you, just being. The day when I was mindful that there were many people who would love to be on the mountain and was grateful that I had the health and spirit to be able to complete the trek. 7 Prayers of Intercession - Janice The Lord calls us to follow We pray for situations where we struggle to follow Christ, offering them to God in the silence We pray for our country and the places where God seems absent We pray for our church, our home, our neighbourhood, and the struggles we have in centring our lives on God s love. We offer into God s care the situations and peoples with whom we struggle. We pray for areas of the world where Christians face persecution; and we pray for ourselves when we face situations where standing up for right is hard and painful. We pray for people who find themselves alone, and for all who suffer, naming them before God and trusting in God s faithful love

Help us to remember in the days ahead that your love stays with us always and never ends. Inspire our hearts and minds to share your gifts with others as we go out into the world every day. In Jesus name we pray. Blessing to each other: God to enfold you, Christ to uphold you, Spirit to keep you in heaven's sight; so may God grace you, heal and embrace you, lead you through darkness into the light.
