Renewable-ready Gen2 Switch s battery system lets it take advantage of fluctuating energy supplies such as wind and solar power. And the battery, made of 97% recycled materials, is itself 90% recyclable. No interruptions If the power fails, Gen2 Switch elevators transition smoothly from the grid to battery power. Now we ve refined it further, so it uses mainly 48V voltage. This lower voltage is safer to work with, reduces energy loss, and means that on standby power, the elevator uses less energy than a lightbulb.
