1 1 EcoMod2013 Practical Information Conference Venue The conference will take place at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague (CZU) Kamýcká , Prague 6 (Suchdol) Czech Republic Directions from the Vaclav Havel Airport to CZU Prague Prague s Airport is located 15 km west of the city centre. You can make your way from the Airport to the campus by public transport or taxi: By public transport: The city bus No. 119, which brings passengers from the airport to the Dejvická metro station (travel time 30 min). At Dejvická, you get on the bus number 107 or 147 with direction to Suchdol and travel to the bus stop called "Zemědělská univerzita" where the campus is located (travel time 10 min). You need one bus ticket for CZK 32 (1.25 EUR) for the whole journey. By taxi: Taxi is the fastest way of getting to the University campus. It is recommended to always use the yellow taxis (AAA or RadioCab) which are parked right in front of the terminals. The travel time to University campus is about 15 minutes and the price is approximately 15 EUR (make sure the driver goes in direction of Horoměřice, otherwise the journey can take twice long). Directions from railway station to CZU Prague Passengers travelling to Prague by train come to either of the two central railway stations: Wilsonovo - Hlavní nádraží (Wilson Main Railway Station, usually for arrivals from Paris, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Zurich, Warsaw, Moscow) or nádraží Holešovice (Holesovice Railway Station, usually for arrivals from Berlin, Dresden, Wien, Budapest, Zagreb). Both stations are on C line (red line) of the metro system which goes to Muzeum station where you transfer to the A line (green) to terminal stop Dejvicka. At Dejvická, you get on bus No. 107 or 147 and travel for 10 minutes to the bus stop called "Zemedelská univerzita". (How to find the bus stops at Dejvicka is described in section Transportation).

2 2 Directions from bus station to CZU Prague Passengers coming by long distance buses or coaches from any direction will arrive at the Autobusové nádraží Florenc (Florenc Bus Station), which is at the Florenc Metro (undeground) station, where two Metro lines (B = yellow line and C = red line) cross. You can get to Dejvická by transferring from C line to A line at Muzeum. At Dejvicka you change for buses No. 107 or 147 and travel for 10 minutes to the bus stop called ''Zemedelska univerzita". 3 3 Organization of the Conference The opening of the EcoMod conference and the plenary sessions (Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon) will take place at CZU congress centre SIC, which you find by taking the main road to the campus from the bus stop and then turning left at the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources. Congress Centre SIC The parallel sessions and coffee breaks will take place at the ground floor of the Provozně ekonomická faktulta (PEF) (Faculty of Economics and Management), which is situated on the right hand-side of the main campus road. The lunches will be served every day at the University canteen (menza). Faculty of Economics and Management (PEF) The registration desk will be located in the Congress centre SIC before the opening plenary session on Monday morning. It will open at 8:00 am. From 10:30 am and for the remaining part of the conference it will be located in the Faculty of Economics (PEF), room E 155. The access to internet will be provided in two computer labs located in the first floor of PEF in rooms C 22 and C 24. 5 5 Transportation in Prague There is an integrated system of public transport consisting of 3 lines of metro (underground), trams and buses. The tickets are the same for all means of transport in Prague (excluding commuter trains for single tickets). The basic single tickets costs 32 CZK for a 90 minute ride or 24 CZK for a 30 minute ride (see alternatives bellow). Passengers must buy and validate a ticket before entering the metro platform (you can enter without ticket but you risk a fine from an inspector). For finding a transport connection, you can use journey planner available at: The public transport tickets can be purchased in all metro stations; you can also buy them in newspaper kiosks. At the University campus, the tickets are not sold; however, you can always buy them directly at the bus driver (for higher cost). To get from downtown to CZU campus by public transport, you need to go first to Dejvicka (end stop of metro line A). While exiting the metro, take the fixed stairs on the left side (not escalator on the right side) and then take another stairs left in the direction of Suchdol. The bus stops 107 and 147 are situated 10 meters from the metro exit. The bus drive from Dejvicka to Zemědělská univerzita takes about 10 min. The taxi service in Prague is affordable compared to other cities in Europe, but only recommended radio-taxi companies should be used, such as: Taxi Blue Angel, Tel.: (+420) Taxi AAA (more expensive), Tel.: or (+420)

6 6 Social Events Welcome Reception: Monday, July 1, 18:30 20:30 Hotel Crowne Plaza Koulova 15, Prague 6 To get to Crowne Plaza from CZU campus, take bus 107 or 147 in direction to Dejvicka (centre) and get off at the station Podbaba. The journey takes less than 10 minutes. The driving time by taxi is 5 minutes. Gala Dinner: Wednesday, July 3, 19:30 22:30 Art Nouveau Francouzska restaurant Náměstí Republiky 5, , Praha 1 The restaurant is situated in the Municipal House at Náměstí Republiky (Square of the Republic). To get there from the CZU campus, take bus 107 or 147 in direction of Dejvicka where you change for the metro line A. Get off at station Můstek it is important to take the left exit - in direction of Příkopy and walk about 10 minutes through Příkopy boulvar until you get to Náměstí Republiky. You can also get to Náměstí Republiky directly by metro when transferring from line A to B in Můstek (direction of Černý most). However, it is only one additional stop by metro from Můstek to Náměstí Republiky and the time it takes to transfer from A to B is almost the same as walking directly from Můstek. The driving time by taxi is about 30 minutes, depending on the traffic in the city centre.

7 7 Preparation of your presentation A computer and a digital projector will be available in each room. Please send us your PowerPoint presentation by (Frederic.Dramais@ecomod.net) by Thursday June 27 so that we can install it in advance on the computer in your conference room. Paper Presentation Each paper has been allocated 30 minutes: 20 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for the potential questions. There is no discussant. We would like to ask all of you to respect the precise timing of the sessions and the presentations. As you know, this is very important for the smooth running of the conference. In all the sessions, the presenter of the last paper in the session is also the chair.
