1 Technical Data Sheet Product Group Polyurethane topcoat Characteristics - Aerodur 3001 is a chemically cured, long life base coat for use in a Product base coat / clear coat system formulated to provide uniform coverage and appearance in one box coat application. Information - Aerodur 3001, in combination with the specified Aerodur 3002 Clear Coat, provides reduced cycle time and superior chemical and stain resistance, flexibility, and weathering performance. This system provides a durable long lasting, protective and decorative finish that exceeds typical OEM requirements for exterior aircraft performance Components Base Curing Solution 3001GXXXXX A900X* *See Section Physical Properties regarding activator options. Specifications Qualified Product List Boeing Boeing Bombardier Bombardier Embraer SAE BMS TY IV and TY VII BMS TY X BAMS Performance BAMS MEP TY II AMS 3095* (*part of a system spec) Surface Conditions Cleaning For most recent up-date or missing specifications please check the qualified product list (QPL) on - Aerodur 3001 is compatible with Aerodur 2111, Aerodur LV 2114, Aerodur HS 2118, 10P20-44, 10P20-44MNF and 10P20-12 along with other epoxy primers. - Observe the recoat times of the relevant primer. - Apply Aerodur 3001 on clean primer. Wipe surface with isopropyl alcohol to remove oil, grease and other contamination prior to application. - Recondition aged primers or topcoats with Scotch-Brite Type A very fine to a uniform matt surface. - Remove dust with tack rags just prior to application of Aerodur Page 1 of 7 AkzoNobel

2 Instruction for Use Mixing Ratio (volume) Note 6 parts 1 parts 0.5 part 3001GXXXXX A900X* Depending on equipment, 1 part by volume of TR-114 may be used (below 15% in the mixed product) to enhance even further the appearance of the finish. Must adhere to film thickness requirements. Note: VOC is effected by use of TR-114. When mixing small quantities it may be helpful for accuracy purposes to mix by weight. If required use the following weight ratios which require the use if the weight per gallon of the specific color. When applying the product for the first time, it is recommended that test panels be prepared in order to identify the best equipment settings to be used in optimizing the performance and appearance of the coating. - Aerodur 3001 may be applied in conditions outside of the limits shown above. Care must be exercised to ensure a satisfactory result. Please contact your local AkzoNobel representative to determine the proper application techniques and choice of activators when environmental conditions fall outside of the recommended range. Apply sufficient topcoat to ensure complete hiding of the primer. Note: Must assure film thickness when reducing with TR-114. Some colors may require a higher film thickness to achieve full hide. Cleaning of Equipment Use TR-15, TR-19, C28/15 or cleaning solvent for clean up of electrostatic equipment and/or other spray equipment. Because Aerodur 3001 is a fast drying basecoat, it is important to clean the equipment as soon as possible after completion of the job.
