If you do need to include text, ensure there s padding between it and the edges of the website content. Aim to keep the main focus of the background image within 120px of either side of the web page, gracefully fade out to a background colour (such as the colour black used in the example below and provide its colour value as it may be used as the background colour for the page it sits on. Create a flat colour block - ie white that matches the size and position of the central, content area of the site. This will help with positioning the artwork around the website and also help keep the final file weight down. 9 HTML5 Specs HTML5 is accepted by Trinity Mirror Group PLC and will work correctly within HTML5 enabled browsers and environments. If users have the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, or Firefox, their browser is already capable of handling most code written in HTML5. If a user s browser is not updated, backup images will display instead of the HTML5 creative. HTML5 creative should follow the same advertising specifications as other Standard and Rich Media creative developed for each site. As with other rich media, HTML5 will require testing and approval 10 business days prior to launch. Please review the following urls for a current list of HTML5 enabled browsers: or A back-up image is required for all HTML5 creative. Please supply HTML5 only as 3rd party tag. For creative s built within HTML5 the rules and file sizes for the ad format still apply. 12 Specification Guide Advertising may not: Mimic Trinity Mirror Group (TMG) search functionality or content. Incorporate or display dialogue boxes (E.G. system alerts and warnings) or operating system functionality. Advertisers are required to adhere to Trinity Mirror Group (TMG) specifications. Flash creative must contain a clicktag implementation. The requirements at Trinity Mirror Group may differ from other publications and it should be constructed using the variable shown as clicktag and in no other format. Ensure CPU usage does not exceed 25%, except for a period during the creative cycle of < 2 seconds when it may reach 50%. For optimal performance animation and video at 15 fps is recommended but rates up to and not exceeding 25 fps will be accepted. Advertisers need to provide standard image files for cases where a user s browser does not support creative functionality (E.G. Flash or HTML5) Expansion of expanding units must be user initiated.
