2 The CIH Annual Conference and Exhibition takes place in Manchester on June The three-day conference is the most important event of our year, bringing together over 5,000 housing professionals with 300 exhibitors from across the sector. The event is the leading opportunity for the whole housing sector - not-for-profit, local authority, housing associations, charities, private sector, commercial partners and suppliers to come together under one roof to learn, improve and influence is an incredibly significant year for us. As government funding reduces, it will be up to the housing profession to find solutions to the challenges it faces. This year, our conference will focus on challenging traditional thinking and learning to do things differently. This will be the first time we have hosted the conference in Manchester, and the new location, new venue and new format are designed to allow more interaction and debate between delegates. The crisp, modern venue, more accessible location and fantastic new programme promise to make this year s conference and exhibition bigger and better than ever before. Throughout the conference, CIH will host several dedicated corporate events aimed at building working relationships with our partners in housing. Sponsorship of these events provides an excellent opportunity to promote your organisation s products and services to a wide range of professionals from across the housing sector. 3 The inside track: Pre-conference briefing VAT Date: 12 June 2012 Venue: Manchester Central Number of guests: Approximately 20 Taking place just before the conference opens, the invite-only pre-conference briefing will combine a press briefing and policy discussions, as well as providing important contextual information to help our international delegates get the most out of their visit. Journalists and future thinkers will be invited to consider the key themes of the upcoming conference, and will gain exclusive access to the inside track on likely debate, key issues, announcements and CIH s media stance throughout the week. 4 Annual General Meeting and drinks reception VAT Date: 12 June 2012 Venue: Manchester Central Number of guests: Approximately 250 This event gives all CIH members a chance to engage with CIH on its priorities, performance and governance, as well as to network with trustees, the presidential team - Robin Lawler, President and Paul Tennant, Vice President - the new Governing Board and our newly appointed Chief Executive, Grainia Long at the end of the formal business meeting. Featuring the launch of the CIH impact report, which reflects on the events of the past year and outlines the future direction and ambitions of the organisation this will be an important event in our corporate calendar. A drinks and canapés reception will follow the AGM and all attendees will be invited, allowing you to network in a more relaxed environment. We expect approximately 250 senior CIH members to attend. 5 Discussion, debate and dinner: Governance VAT Date: 12 June 2012 Venue: Lancaster Suite, Midland Hotel, Manchester Number of guests: An intimate dinner with guests to include CEOs and board members of housing organisations, with input and senior guests from the new Social Housing Regulator. Informal discussion will focus around running housing businesses successfully in the new English Regulatory Framework. This is an ideal opportunity to associate your organisation with a key housing topic, promoting your business as an ambassador for organisational excellence, whilst providing excellent networking opportunities with senior representatives from the new Social Housing Regulator and CIH. At this event we are bringing our ambassadors together to celebrate their contribution, share good practice, and gather inspiration for the future. The event will take place outdoors in the courtyard with light musical entertainment and refreshments.
