1 Page 1 of 5 Position Description Learning and Development Coordinator Stage: Issued Version: Group: HR/OHS/Education Reports To: Manager People and Culture Employment Status: Permanent Full Time Grade/Award: Clerical and Administrative Primary Objective: The Learning and Development Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of innovative and contemporary learning and development programs that supports strategies to build a sustainable, resilient and adaptable workforce across Feros Care. Key Responsibilities: Review and revitalise all existing learning and development activities considering new modes of delivery for remote workers, residential, professional, administrative staff and volunteers. Co-ordinate and maintain the organisations orientation program for new staff and volunteers that includes service and position specific checklists, selfdirected learning packages, buddying and mentoring, corporate orientation and customer care programs. Coordinate and maintain the organisational learning and development calendars and associated awareness months, considering mechanisms to promote the various activities and maximise participation from staff and volunteers across Feros Care's geographic footprint. Oversee the planning, delivery and evaluation of mandatory training programs to ensure skilled staff and volunteers and compliancy with quality standards and audit requirements. This includes the preparation of reports on staff attendance and follow up actions. Build a register and maintain relationships with a range of reputable training providers in the areas of leadership, management, clinical, care and other key organisational learning and development priorities. Coordinate requests to attend external courses and conferences which involves follow up on approvals, registrations and the associated travel and accommodation requirements. Coordinate Feros Care's sevenstar Staff Development Program including intake, program delivery, documentation, sourcing facilitators, monitoring projects, implementing reward and recognition and promotional strategies in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and Manager People and Culture.

2 Page 2 of 5 Oversee the coordination of internal learning and development activities, including: workshops, toolbox talks and staff meeting training sessions which may include the sourcing of contemporary trainers, guest speakers, specialist providers, educational consultants as requested by Service Managers. This may include assisting with organising venues, RSVP's, catering, training materials and equipment. Coordinate and manage traineeships in conjunction with managers, trainees and service providers, including monitoring key deadlines, reimbursements and funding incentives, co-ordinating supervision and training activities, sourcing government funding and initiatives and actively feeding into the curriculum development where possible. Explore opportunities for work experience placements for students from local secondary school, TAFE, university and other educational providers to assist strategically in meeting our workforce recruitment demands. This includes liaising with providers on the documentation, orientation, supervision and rostering requirements. Coordinate the Age Care Channel (ACC) program within Feros Care including the promotion of the program, the technology for the residential sites and the availability (loaning) of DVD learning resources to staff and volunteers for self-directed learning. Ensure learning and development records and statistics are maintained and reported to effectively monitor, manage and plan organisational learning and development activities. Evaluate internally and externally faciliatated learning and development activities, workshops and conferences and report on the return on investment in terms of costs, learning's gained, strategies to reinforce learning and share knowledge with the organisation as appropriate. Monitor closely and action training, scholarships and special funding opportunities as promoted by Peak Bodies and other recognised training authorities to enhance the learning and development opportunities for our staff and volunteers. Identify opportunities for funding which can be utilised to provide enhanced programs and opportunities for professional development and expand staff qualifications, knowledge and skill base including assisting with application preparation and submission. Assist Managers with design and delivery of training and e-learning packages providing templates for lesson plans, presentation formats, facilitator guide formats, participant guides and evaluation documentation. Maintain a comprehensive and modern resource library for staff and volunteers of Feros Care that may include printed, audio, visual and online material. Create and maintain an efficient mechanism for borrowing and distribution of such resources and for the maintenance and upkeep of the physical resource libraries. Identify, implement and coordinate a range of affordable incentives for staff to participate in learning and development activities including Feros Care's education competition. Actively participate in People and Culture special projects, initiatives or programs as required. Attend and actively participate in OHS and other mandatory training. Comply with the Feros Care OHS Management System requirements particularly manual handling, infection control, emergency, food safety and personal protective equipment requirements. Monitor workplace conditions and report: ideas which may improve health and safety any work related or personal injury or illness (where it may affect their ability to work safely) hazards and incidents including any malfunction or inadequacies of equipment. Correct minor hazards as applicable. Attend and actively participate in OHS and other mandatory training. Key Competencies: 1. Criminal History: This position requires a mandatory Australian Federal Police check to be conducted, if chosen to be the successful candidate. Where the position is required to provide a service to persons under the age of 18 years, a Working With Children Check must also be conducted. Essential Criteria for Position: 1. Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, and/or tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline. 2. At least two years experience in the coordination and planning of staff training and development programs. 3. Exceptional organisational skills with high degree of drive, initiative, outcome orientation and the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities. 4. Proven analytical and problems solving skills coupled with strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy. 5. Previous demonstrated experience in developing high quality, professional correspondence, i.e. letters, memo's, s, agreements. 6. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and also as part of the People and Culture team. 7. Well developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills for liaising with staff at all levels, external providers and external bodies. 8. Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate change and provide responsive services to meet customers' needs. 9. Self motivated, creative and passionate approach. 10. Sound and accurate judgment, ability to treat people with respect, working
