2 Friday, 19 th June 2015 YOUR ITINERARY 09:30 am Meet Kathy & Sarah at nominated gate lounge in Sydney Domestic Airport 10:05 am Depart Sydney on VA 1627 Virgin Australia 01:15 pm Arrive at Ayers Rock (Uluru) Airport. Upon arrival, collect your luggage from the carousel in the terminal. We will then be transferred directly to the resort. 01:45 pm Enjoy a welcome Palya drink on arrival. Lunch at Sails in the Desert, Ilkari Restaurant. 02:30 pm Check-in to rooms to refresh for the afternoon activity. 02:45 pm Meet in Sails in the Desert Lobby for our pick up to experience a desert Motor Cycle Ride (first group of three guests). (duration 45 mins) 03:30 pm Meet in Sails in the Desert Lobby for pick up to experience a Desert Motor Cycle Ride (second group of three guests) (duration 45 mins) Please provide your size for the following: Helmet: medium or extra large Jacket: men s size: small, medium, large, XL, 2XL, 4XL & 5XL. Dresscode: Motorcycle riding: pants, closed shoes. 05:10pm Transfer departs from Sails in the Desert to Sounds of Silence Experience Your journey continues to a lone sand dune. A path takes you to an uninterrupted, three hundred and sixty degree view of this vast landscape. In front of you is the fabled Uluru; behind you are the domes of Kata Tjuta and, possibly the most spectacular sunset you have ever seen. Here you enjoy sparkling wine and a selection of delectable canapés. As the sun sets, you feast on a BBQ buffet of authentic Australian delicacies, including barramundi, kangaroo and crocodile, bush salads and classic desserts, complemented by Australian wines. 3 Saturday, 20 th June :45 am An early start this morning! Meet Kathy and Jess at the front of Sails in the Desert for the The Rising Sun tour AAT Kings. Experience the sacred beauty and culture of Uluru in an intimate group led by a member of the local Anangu people. Behold the Majesty of Uluru as the sun rises to reveal the deserts red heart. Afterwards enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before joining your Indigenous guide for an interpretive walk at the base of this ancient monolith. You ll hear stories of its cultural significance and with Uluru as your backdrop, you ll immerse yourself in the Anangu culture as you gather around a campfire and learn ancient skills. Dress code: key: layering to include warm jacket, boots, scarf, beanie and gloves - It will be VERY cold in the morning then warms up after during the morning. 11:45 am Return to the Resort to embark on a site inspection of the accommodation and facilities of the various hotels and Uluru Meeting Place function rooms. 01:30 pm Lunch at Arnguli Grill located at Desert Gardens Hotel. 02:10 pm Heli Experience take in the majesty of Uluru form the sky 03:30 pm Dot Painting Workshop in Town Square 05:00 pm We will make a quick visit to Outback Pioneer Hotel to view their BBQ area. 05:30 pm Free Time - relax 07:00 pm Meet at Ilkari Restaurant and relish in a well-deserved dinner. 4 Sunday, 21 st June :00 am We depart Sails in the Desert reception for our Kata Tjuta Sunrise Tour and take in the 36 weathered domes as they transform at sunrise with SEIT Outback Australia Tours. We will then be taken off the beaten path, exploring Walpa Gorge while learning the spiritual relevance and ancient history of the site. 11:00 am Return to the hotel to check out. 11:45 am Meet in Walpa bar for a light lunch before departure. 12:30 pm Meet Sarah & Kathy at the front of Sails in the Desert for our private transfer to Ayers Rock Airport. 01:50 pm Flight VA 1628 departs for Sydney Virgin Australia 05:20 pm Arrive Sydney. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Weather Uluru (Ayers Rock) Climate/Weather Desert climate, average temperature range for June is 25 degrees throughout the day and it can drop down to 5-6 degrees some nights and early mornings. What To Bring Casual comfortable clothing is very much part of the Northern Territory lifestyle, but neat tidy dress standards is maintained in restaurants and hotels. Jumper, cardigan and/or coat for early mornings and late evenings is needed with temperatures getting down to approx. 5-6 degrees.
