The deadline for film submissions is Sunday, September 6, 2015, 23:00 GMT. Assignments will be sent via the week of September 14. Requests received after September 6 will be assigned screenings after September 25. Late assignments will be sent via the week of October 5. A. VENUES AFM Screenings are held in 6 facilities with a total of 22 screens: DCP Screenings: Two commercial theatres with eleven (11) screens total and two screening rooms with three (3) screens total: AMC SANTA MONICA 1310 Third Street Promenade (DCP venue seats) Screen 1: 166 Seats Screen 3: 96 Seats Screen 5: 80 Seats Screen 7: 80 Seats Screen 2: 117 Seats Screen 4: 96 Seats Screen 6: 89 Seats Formats: Screens 1 7: DCP. There are no 7:00pm screenings at the AMC Santa Monica and Broadway Cineplex Theatres. All screenings will start as scheduled. The Projectionist will not delay the starting time. D. PAYMENT, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS Payments are due with requests. If payment is not received, screening times will not be assigned. Screenings may be cancelled, in writing, without penalty until Friday, September 25. Screenings cancelled after this date will not be refunded unless the AFM is able to fill the cancelled time slot. All refunds will be made by Friday, January 1, IMPORTANT: Screening times for a cancelled film may not be used for another film. E. SCREENING ASSIGNMENTS Screening times are assigned by computer lottery. The number of screenings a film can request in the lottery depends on Market screening history. Market Premiere: A film completed in 2015 that has not screened at a Market before this AFM. AFM Market Premieres may request a maximum of three (3) screenings. NOTE: World Premiere status may be selected for a film that has not been screened in a festival, market or for the public or press in any country. See J.1 for more information. Cannes Premiere: A film that had its first Market screening at the 2015 Marché du Film. Cannes Premieres may request a maximum of two (2) screenings. Other Film: A film that screened at a Market prior to Cannes 2015 or was completed in 2014 or earlier. Other Films may request a maximum of one (1) Screening. Beginning Monday, October 12, Market screening history restrictions will no longer apply. Exhibitors may request any compatible screening time. Contact the AFM Screenings Department for more information. 1. Running Time In order to fit into a single timeslot, the running time of a film can be no more than 115 minutes. Films with a running time over 115 minutes are subject to the following provisions: Films between 116 and 130 mins will screen either at 8:45am (15 minutes early) or at the last screening of the day. Films between 131 and 140 minutes will screen either at 8:30am (30 minutes early) or can request two (2) consecutive time slots and be charged accordingly. To request two (2) consecutive slots, indicate this in the "Special Remarks" section. Films that are over 140 minutes will require two (2) consecutive time slots and will be charged accordingly. NOTE: If the running time is longer than 115 minutes, and the correct running time was not provided, the screening will end before the film has finished and subsequent screenings will be cancelled without a refund.

3 V AFM 2015 Screening Guidelines Page 3 of 7 2. Promo Reels, Trailers and Logos Screening times may be used for a promo provided the running time is at least 25 minutes. To maximize the time slot, promos should be looped continuously up to 115 minutes. Promos, trailers or logos may also be added to the beginning or end of a feature provided the combined running time doesn t exceed 115 minutes. A promo/trailer/logo should be attached to the film. If it s not attached, the film and promo/trailer/logo must be shipped together with detailed instructions. Failure to do this may result in the trailer/promo/logo not being played. 3. Disputed Rights If the AFM determines at any time that a dispute exists between two or more parties concerning which party or parties owns or controls rights to a film for purposes of AFM screenings, then the AFM, at its sole discretion, may determine not to allow any party to screen such film at the AFM, unless and until the AFM is satisfied that such dispute has been fully resolved. F. SCREENING TYPES 1. Market Screenings are the traditional AFM screenings. Admittance requires an AFM Badge. A film that qualifies as a Market Screening will be included in the online screening schedule and the printed AFM Screenings Guide. Some films may be included in AFM press releases and/or s to Buyers. 2. Private Screenings limit admittance to the Exhibitor's invited guests only. An AFM badge or custom invitation will not allow admittance, therefore a badged Exhibitor representative must be present throughout the screening to identify guests who are to be admitted and to resolve potential problems and answer questions. When a Private Screening is requested, the film details will not be listed anywhere, including the online and printed screening schedule and the A Z section of the AFM Screenings Guide. Only the words "Private Screening" will be listed on the screening schedule for that time and day. To include a film that is screening privately in The Film Catalogue market lineup, a duplicate entry must be created. From the online portal, select Add a Film from the Home page and set market lineup to Yes. This will create an entry that is not attached to the screening and will be visible online. The duplicate entry will not be included in the printed AFM Screenings Guide. G. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 1. DCP Screenings Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) must be created to Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI) specifications and should be named according to the DCI Naming Convention. Beginning October 2 the DCP requirements are available online at requirements or on the portal on the Documents page. Failure to provide a film with the exact specifications may result in a cancellation without refund. On rare occasion problems can arise when uploading DCP files. Therefore, to ensure a screening takes place without incident, the AFM strongly recommends that a back up is provided. IMPORTANT: Films in the DCP format will be scheduled in the same venue. If an Exhibitor requests to screen a film in two different venues, it is preferred that a DCP is provided for each venue. Testing is available for all DCPs for an additional fee. Please contact the Screenings Department. If a DCP is encrypted, a DKDM must be provided. If a DKDM is not provided then KDMs are required for all 17 of the DCP screens and the test servers. Also required is contact information for a lab or representative who can be reached at any time to ensure we can properly troubleshoot KDM issues. AFM is partnering with Deluxe Technicolor Digital Cinema ( Deluxe Technicolor ) for KDM management. Deluxe Technicolor is also offering services to Exhibitors to handle any last minute technical issues with their DCP. For more information contact the Screening Department.

4 V AFM 2015 Screening Guidelines Page 4 of 7 2. DCP 3D Screenings 3D Screenings in the commercial theatres are available in Real D/3D. Details about the Real D system can be found online in the technical specifications document. The AFM will provide 3D glasses. 3. High Definition Screenings The following formats are available: HDCAM SR & HDCAM and Blu Ray. The supported tape sound formats are: 2 Channel Stereo; 2 Channel Mono; 4 Channel LCRS or 2 Channel Matrix Lt/Rt. For Blu Ray we support 5.1. All Blu Rays should be professionally mastered/authored and pressed as they provide greater consistency. There are no refunds for Blu Rays that don t play or skip or freeze during play. Films that are received by the delivery date will be tested by AFM tech staff, and if there are any problems, Exhibitors will be notified. Due to the tight schedule in the high definition screening rooms, it is not possible for technicians to do a "tech check" of a film immediately prior to a screening. Beginning October 2, HDCAM/HDCAM SR and Blu Ray specifications are available online on the Documents page, or at requirements. 4. HD Mini Theatre Screenings The following formats are available in the HD Mini Theatres: Blu Ray and DVD. All Blu Rays and DVDs should be professionally mastered/authored and pressed as they provide greater consistency. There are no refunds for Blu Rays and DVDs that don t play or skip or freeze during play. While DVD R is more reliable for playback than BD R primarily due to the reduced data density, neither format is considered to be a professional "show" playback system and are not recommended. The supported sound format is 5.1 surround sound. H. VENUE RULES Cameras: Still and video cameras are not allowed inside any AFM screening venue. Promotions/Promotional Materials: No promotion of any kind can be set up at any AFM screening venue (signage, demonstrations, etc.) and no promotional material may be left unattended. Projection Booth: Exhibitors and representatives are not allowed to enter the booth. If a problem with the projection or sound occurs, notify AFM Theatre Staff immediately and they will speak to the Projectionist. Under no circumstances are any persons other than Projectionists and Staff allowed in the booths. I. ASSET TRACKING Delivery, Late Fees, Early Release & Return This section covers all details as they relate to the delivery, use and pick up of DCPs, Tapes, Blu Rays and DVDs ("Assets"). Asset(s) must arrive by the delivery date to avoid additional fees. Bluebird Express organizes the delivery and retrieval of all Assets to the Screening Facilities. Bluebird Express 704 S. DELIVERY (there will be a late fee if items are not delivered by due dates) DCP Screenings due Tuesday, October 27: Assets screening in a DCP venue must be delivered directly to Bluebird Express and arrive by Tuesday, October 27. DKDMs, KDMs, CPLs and CTTs must be delivered via to AFMScreenings@ifta online.org by the same deadline, Tuesday, October 27. High Definition and HD Mini Theatre Screenings due Thursday, October 29: Assets screening in a High Definition venue must be delivered directly to Bluebird Express and arrive by Thursday, October 29. Assets that arrive on the same day as their screening will not be shown and there will be no refund. 2. LATE DELIVERY CHARGES DCP Screenings: There is a $200 late fee for each Asset received after Tuesday, October 27. High Definition and HD Mini Theatre Screenings: There is a $100 late fee for each Asset received after Thursday, October 29. Switching out Versions: There will be a $100 charge if an Asset is received by the deadline, but then a newer/different version is submitted at a later date. Different Format: A film CANNOT be delivered in a different format from what was originally scheduled, as it might not be compatible with the venue. If the AFM is able to accommodate the request to switch formats, there will be a $200 fee for the change. Fees must be paid when registering at the AFM. 3. PICK UP Asset return after the AFM is not automatic. Exhibitors should contact Bluebird Express with shipping instructions prior to the end of the AFM (and at least 48 hours prior to the shipping date) to ensure prompt delivery. Starting Thursday, November 12, Assets will be held at Bluebird Express until arrangements have been made to either pick the Asset up from their warehouse (by the Exhibitor or their own shipper) or have Bluebird Express ship the Asset. See below for details regarding additional options. All Assets are available upon request 24 hours after their last screening and may be picked up at the AFM Screenings Office until Wednesday, November 11. They will only be released to a badged representative of the Exhibitor. Beginning Thursday, November 12, these Assets will be at the Bluebird Express warehouse. 4. ASSET DAMAGE If verifiable damage to an Asset occurs during the market, the AFM will reimburse reasonable replacement charges (no rush lab charges, etc.). Written documentation including cause, precise damage and replacement cost estimates must be submitted within five (5) business days after the Asset is released to the Exhibitor or its representative. J. SCREENING BENEFITS 1. World Premieres Most buyers come to markets to find new films and projects so the AFM encourages World Premiere screenings. A film that has not been screened in a festival, market or for the public or press in any country is eligible for World Premiere status. The benefits of an AFM World Premiere include: An exclusive section of the online Screening Schedule allows Buyers to easily view the screening times of World Premieres. The printed AFM Screenings Guide has a special section in the front listing all World Premieres.

6 V AFM 2015 Screening Guidelines Page 6 of 7 World Premieres at TheFilmCatalogue.com are searchable in the online listings and screening schedules and are noted with a "World Premiere" icon next to the title. World Premieres may be listed in AFM press releases. 2. Screening Tickets / Exhibitor Invitations Screening Tickets are issued to all Exhibitors, so they may invite guests without an AFM badge to a screening. Exhibitor must provide the guest with an AFM Screening Ticket in advance of the screening. If Screening Tickets have not been distributed in advance, an Exhibitor representative must be at the theatre to provide each guest with a Ticket. The AFM will provide 25 Screening Tickets for each screening. Tickets are not available for Private Screenings. Screening Tickets are available for pick up beginning Monday, November 2, at the AFM Screening Office. The exhibitor's representative who picks up the tickets must either wear an AFM Exhibitor Photo Badge or have written approval from the exhibiting company's main screening contact. Exhibitor Invitations: A custom invitation created by the Exhibitor can be used for any market screening. If custom invitations are used, the Screenings Department must be given four (4) samples so staff can be instructed to allow guests into the theatre. The invitation samples must be provided by Tuesday, November 3. Press: To arrange for Press to attend a screening, provide them with a Screening Ticket. Children (under 18 years) must be accompanied by an adult and issued their own Screening Ticket. If six (6) or more children are invited to a screening the AFM requires notification by Tuesday, November 3, and an Exhibitor representative must be present throughout the screening to escort the children directly to and from the theatre. 3. Screening Schedule The online AFM Screening Schedule is posted on TheFilmCatalogue.com beginning Monday, October 12 and is updated frequently. The printed AFM Screenings Guide will contain the following information for films that are screening: Film Title, Synopsis, Genre, Cast, Director, Film Art and Screening Times. All content is user generated. To be included in the printed AFM Screenings Guide all film information must be entered online by 23:00 GMT on Friday, October 23. Any changes entered online after this date will not be reflected in the printed guide, but will be included in the online schedule. The printed AFM Screenings Guide will be available on Monday, November 2, at the AFM. 4. Screening Attendance Reports Badges will be scanned for everyone entering an AFM screening plus most screenings at Ocean Screening Room. Attendance reports will be available online within two hours of the end of the screening. 5. Screenings at Ocean Screening Room Screenings at Ocean Screening Room will be included in the online and printed screening schedule if they start between 8:30am and 7:00pm. To be included, the following information must be provided in writing to the Screenings Department by Friday, October 16: Title, Day and Time. IMPORTANT: To use the same Asset for an AFM screening and a screening at the Ocean Screening Room or other non AFM theatre, leave a minimum 36 hour window between the screenings to ensure correct Asset handling, release, and delivery.

Recruited Screenings and Cast & Screw Screenings If a recruited or cast & crew screening is planned, note this in the "Special Remarks" section of the online form. Exhibitors are discouraged from using AFM theatres for audiences not registered as AFM Participants. K.
