You will learn to use three different massage lubricants: the widely-used oils, plus the traditional talc and more unusual cream. Movements covered include effleurage, petrissage, vibration, friction and tapotement, and you will learn how to massage the whole body. You will learn the benefits and contra-indications of Swedish Body Massage, client care and record keeping. The Swedish Body Massage technique is a pre-requisite before gaining a licence to work as a Beauty Therapist or Massage Therapist and is therefore a very useful skill to have in the beauty industry. Indian Head Massage is based on traditional and Indian techniques by using a variety of massage movements. The Indian Head Massage works on the energy of chakras and is a great way of relieving stress and its effects on the systems of the body. Tension is relieved through relaxation of the muscles, and improved circulation to the brain helps to clear the mind and improve hair and scalp conditions. This treatment can be performed without removing any garments and use of oil is optional although beneficial.
