How to convert a Word document into PDF in Microsoft Office 2007

1 Converting a Word document into PDF format is fairly simple and straightforward! Follow the steps listed below. Installing PrimoPDF 1. 2 4. You will be directed to a different site and a gray dialog box will pop up. Click Save File. 5. After PrimoPDF downloads you need to install it. The download box pops up with a link to the PrimoPDF executable file. Double click on the executable file. *If you don t see the box above, PrimoPDF may have automatically saved the download to your desktop. If so, skip step 6. Go to your desktop and double click on the PrimoPDF icon. Go to step If the security box displayed below pops up, click OK Created by Dijana Music 2

3 7. The Open File Security Warning window will display. Click Run and then OK to set English as the preferred language. 8. The PrimoPDF Setup window will display. Click Next. Created by Dijana Music 3

4 9. Click on I Agree for the license agreement. 10. You may be prompted to install additional software such as Registry Reviver or Bing. Do not install the recommended software, only PrimoPDF. 5 11. Skip the Product Registration pop up box by clicking Next. If a web browser opens asking you again if you want to register the product, close the window. 12. Click Finish. Created by Dijana Music 5

6 Converting a Word Document to PDF 1. Open a Word document. Click on the office button (upper left hand corner) and then select Print. 2. In the Print box, select PrimoPDF in the Name field and click OK. Created by Dijana Music 6

7 3. Another box will open up with additional features: 4. Select the appropriate option depending on the type of file you would like to convert: Screen smallest files, images suitable for onscreen viewing only. ebook medium files for web and office. Images are compressed. Print larger files, photos retain high quality for printing. Prepress largest files, preserves source image quality if possible. Custom generates output optimized based on customized settings. 5. From the Document Properties area, click on Change to update the title, author, subject and keyword. Then click OK. 9 7. From Save As, select Ask when creating a PDF OR- Specific folder. If you select Ask when creating a PDF you will have to set the save location and file name for each new PDF you create. If you select Specific folder you will choose a save location. 8. From Post Process, select Open PDF -OR- PDF OR- Do Nothing. 9. After you have made your desired changes, click on Create PDF. 10. Depending upon the save settings you selected, you will either be prompted to save the file at a location of your choice or the file will save to the folder you specified. 11. Depending upon the post process settings you selected, the PDF will open, prompt an message or nothing will happen. 12. SHORTCUT You can drag a Word file over the PrimoPDF icon saved to the desktop to automatically convert the file to PDF format. Created by Dijana Music 9
