2 At New Hope Camp & Conference Center we have facilities to accommodate your event. Whether you are looking for a place to hold your wedding, family reunion or your organizations next conference, we have what you are looking for. We have outdoor pavilions, day use and overnight buildings available to rent during the year. The New Hope Pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day. It s a great way to survive the hottest of summer days. Our lifeguards are Red Cross and YMCA certified and are here to make sure your time at the New Hope Camp and Conference Center pool is relaxing and enjoyable. With pool pass privileges, you can schedule swimming lessons for members of your family with our trained Water Safety Instructor and bring guests for a nominal fee.

Hiking Fishing Archery (3rd grade and above) Soccer Canoeing Basketball Gaga Ball Art activities Pool time Fun Friday Bible stories, and more! Campers (K-2) also receive swim lessons with our Red Cross trained Water Safety Instructor, in addition to swim time for practice and play. Sport and Art activities vary each week Children will love after school at New Hope because every moment is not scheduled! We give children free time to make their own choices and decisions of how they want to spend their time outside. Our staff will also provide hands on help with homework. We provide a nutritious snack. New Hope Camp bus picks up from: Hillsborough Elementary, The Expedition School, Central Elementary, Cameron Park Elementary, and Grady Brown. Transportation via school bus from New Hope Elementary. Our themed intersession weeks during the year are a great place for children to use their imagination and help create activities outside while enjoying our wonderful outdoor facilities. Some weeks include field trips.

4 New this year! We are offering mini camps for your child. This is a specific camp that your child will register for. Join us as we dive into the world of the arts! Your camper can select one of our unique mini or best of camp. Mini Camps are only offered in the morning and spaces are limited. Your child must sign up for a specific camp Dance, Drama, or Art This camp is the best of everything any creative mind. At the end of the week there will be a show for all campers and families. M.A.D.D. Camp (Mini Camps are offered from 8:30am-12:30pm) Half Day (mini camp) : 8:30am-12:30pm - $240 per child. This will include 1 snack. or Full Day: $340 The morning is dedicated to the mini camp that your child has selected. Then your camper will continue their day with our fun day activities. Lunch and 2 snacks are included. Everything that is real was imagined first ~ the velveteen rabbit Day Camp begins at 8 am and ends at 5 pm. We offer early drop off at 7:30 am and late pick up at 6 pm at no extra charge. Overnight camps are one week long and begin Monday and end on Friday. Lunch and 2 snacks are provided each day. Discounts: Early Birds - Register by April 15,2017 and save $5 per session/camper. 5 Marie Holder dance The entire staff recognize their responsibility when you choose New Hope Camp & Conference Center for your child s summer activity. Our summer staff are dedicated to outdoor ministry and sharing God s love with young people. Staff are typically comprised of college students or graduates from area universities. All applicants go through an extensive screening process, including personal interviews, background checks, and references. We seek appropriate role models with a desire to lead young people. We aim to keep our camper-to-staff ratio low so that campers have more quality time with counselors. We strive to maintain a ratio of 15-to-2 during activities. All staff are trained in First Aid and CPR to provide your child with a fun and safe summer. Our pool is staffed with Red Cross Certified Life Guards. Swim lessons are conducted by a Certified Water Safety Instructor and archery lessons by Certified Trained Instructors. I attended my first dance lesson at the age of four and haven't stopped dancing since. Though I've studied ballet for 18 years, I am most passionate about modern and contemporary dance. I fell in love with teaching dance during my studies at Appalachian State University, where I taught swing dance during my senior year. I have been teaching the dance classes for MADD Week for the past three years and returning every summer is always a treat! During my classes campers will learn how to explore creative movement and improvisation as well as different dance styles such as hip hop, lyrical, Latin & modern. Sarah Brown art I am the Visual Arts Teacher at Efland Cheeks Elementary and I LOVE ART and LOVE CAMP! I graduated from Western Carolina University where I learned to love all types of art and nature. In my personal life I enjoy painting, drawing, and mixed media art. This summer is going to be amazing. I can't wait to get to work and make a mess. We will be drawing, painting, creating art journals, sewing, pottery and much more! Wayne Leonard drama He has been actively involved in community theatre since He is an award winning director with more than a dozen credits for Orange Community Players, Studio 1 (Burlington), Alamance Children s Theatre, Gallery Players (Burlington), and Mebane Acting Company. In 2015, his production of Night at the Wax Museum with Alamance Children s Theatre was recognized as the "Notable Children's Production (community or professional)" by the Piedmont Triad Theatre Guide. He has twice been the recipient of the Gallery Players Pearl Award for Best Director of a Play. In the summer of 2017, he will the direct Annie for Orange Community Players. Mr. Leonard has also appeared on stage in more than two dozen productions with Gallery Players, Paramount Acting Company (Burlington), Studio 1, Snow Camp Outdoor Theatre, and Orange Community Players. He originated the role of Robert Harrill in The Hermit of Fort Fisher with the Paramount Acting Company and is a recipient of the Pearl Award for Best Actor in a Non-Musical for his performance in the Gallery Players production of Life With Father. Mr. Leonard has been employed by Orange County Schools since He currently teaches Drama at Cameron Park Elementary School in Hillsborough. He has led acting workshops and summer camps for Orange County Parks and Rec, Chapel Hill Parks and Rec, Studio 1 in Burlington, and Pleasant Green United Methodist Church. Wayne Leonard is the host of Lights Up! - a radio show about community theatre. Lights Up! airs every Wednesday 5:00-6:00 p.m. on WHUP-FM in Hillsborough. The broadcast is also streamed live and each program is archived for later review.

6 Your camper can enjoy a week away from home at one of our overnight sessions. During Overnight Camp, campers will participate in normal Day-Camp sessions, and at night will play games, cook over the campfire evening activities, participate in vespers and then off to bed to sleep in cabins, and even spend one night sleeping under the stars. The A unique camp stay up late to see what the natural world looks like in the dark! Cookouts, sports, night hikes, evening paddles, swimming, stargazing and more! Guest speakers will bring an extra special touch to this camp with some NC nocturnal animals. Crew is a camp for rising 10th graders. The goal is to learn about Camp from a different perspective by learning about the diverse jobs around Camp. Crew members participate in day camp and overnight camp activities when applicable and assist the Program Director on activities for campers. The program is designed to prepare members to join the camp as counselors-in-training the following year. All crew members will receive CPR training and have the opportunity to become lifeguard certified (additional fee for this) Successful participants will come away from this program with valuable leadership skills that will serve them well at home, in school, and in their own community. Completion of the mandatory training week does not guarantee placement as a volunteer during the summer camp season.
