Classes will run from 3:15-4:45 PM each day, and students can be picked up between 4:45-6:00 PM. If you would like to try out a class, register online and opt for the payment plan. Wingspan Arts is a non-profit that is fully insured and professionally managed. Wingspan Arts is held ON-SITE at PS 110. Wingspan Arts works in partnership with PS 110 to offer semester-long afterschool activities that meet once a week. Our staff includes: Site Director, assistants, and trained arts professionals. A Day at Wingspan Arts When students are dismissed from school, they are escorted to Wingspan Arts central meeting area at PS 110. Students are provided with a snack and a variety of activities from school dismissal until 3:15 PM. Enrichment classes run for 90 minutes from 3:15-4:45PM. Pick-up runs from 4:45-6:00 PM. Students are encouraged to work on homework, read independently, play outside, solve puzzles, draw pictures, or engage in other activities. Pick-up ends promptly at 6:00PM; a fee of $1/minute will be charged for any students remaining after 6:00PM. This activity is not sponsored or endorsed by the New York City Department of Education or the City of New York. Tax Information: Wingspan Arts can be claimed as a childcare expense on your taxes, or used with a flex spending account! Our Federal Tax ID is , and our office can provide you with a formal receipt. Scholarships & Financial Aid: Wingspan Arts is committed to making sure our programs are accessible to all families, regardless of their ability to pay. We offer discounted rates for students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and scholarships are available for any family for whom Wingspan Arts programming would be a financial hardship. To find out more about our financial aid program, please contact our office. Refund Policy: If your child is not satisfied with his/her afterschool class, and withdraws within the first two weeks, Wingspan Arts offers a full credit to your Wingspan Arts account to be used for a future afterschool class or Half-Day program. After the first two weeks, Wingspan Arts offers a pro-rated refund amount to your Wingspan Arts account. If you wish instead to be refunded to your credit card, Wingspan Arts charges a $50 refund fee this covers the cost to Wingspan Arts of issuing a refund. A WingspanArts Production

3 MONDAY PS 110 Grade Pre-K Movin & Groovin This high-energy class combines rhythm and dance to get everyone movin to the beat! Explore different beats and rhythms, and find new ways to move to the groove. Grades Pre-K & K Myths & Legends What do the Loch Ness Monster, Big Foot, and Paul Bunyan have in common? Well, in Myths & Legends, all their stories will come alive! In this creative class, students will be introduced to drama and theatre through the use of timeless myths and legends. As a final presentation they will stage their very own adaptation or perhaps even create their own story! Grades K-1 Music Factory Through songs, games and exercises, students will explore the fundamentals of music and composition. Dynamics, tempo, pitch, melody, beat and rhythm will be the focus of this exciting music composition class. The musicians in this class will learn about different instruments and develop skills in songwriting. Students will learn singing techniques, build their knowledge of music theory and terminology, and create their own sounds in the music factory! Grades 1-3 Mad Science $60 Materials Fee Calling all mad scientists! This class is full of bizarre experiments guaranteed to amaze every participant! Every class involves gooey, slimy, scientific fun, most of which can be taken home. Discover how cool science can be in our MAD SCIENTIST LAB! TUESDAY Grade Pre-K Lego Creations $15 Materials Fee Legos just got even more fun! In this class, students experience the excitement of Legos and learning! This class will introduce teamwork, observation, creative thinking and problem-solving skills all while encouraging the use of creativity and imagination to build the most amazing creations! Grades Pre-K & K Dance Around The World In this class, dancers will learn styles such as African, jazz, ballet, salsa, Afro- Caribbean, Indian, hip hop, funk and swing. They will dance to music from all over the world and play games that will help them listen to the sounds that make each style and culture unique. This class encourages an awareness and appreciation of other countries historical dance styles and inspires students to find a common colorful thread that runs through ALL movement.

4 PS 110 Grades K-1 Actor s Playground Have you ever wondered why they call it a play? BECAUSE ACTING IS FUN! In this play-based drama class, students will experiment with improvisation, ensemble-building, and acting exercises to discover the joy of theatre. All the world s a stage (or a playground) in this energetic and active class. Grades 1-3 Songwriter s Studio Students will examine the craft of songwriting through the use of poetry, percussion, and singing. We will write songs as a group and individually, and each student will develop proper singing techniques and leave with a core understanding of musical vocabulary. Discover your creative genius and become a songwriter superstar. WEDNESDAY Grade Pre-K Storytime Theatre Let your imagination soar by combining storytelling with theatre! Students will hear classic and contemporary children s stories, and then they ll get a chance to create a menagerie of their own unique characters and plots! Grades Pre-K & K Puppet Makers In this class, artists create their own puppets and bring them to life! We will begin by watching several puppet shows to understand the sense of joy that goes into acting with puppets. This class will then give students a chance to build puppets from materials such as lollipops, styrofoam balls, vegetables and fruit, and pop-up paper. Best of all, every puppeteer will take their puppets home! The class culminates in a puppet show at the end of the semester. Grades K-1 Lego Masters $15 Materials Fee Learn how to become Lego-smart! This class will introduce teamwork, observation, creative thinking and problem-solving skills all through the fun of Legos. Build towns, spaceships, bridges, railroads, artwork and a whole lot more in this exciting class! Grades 1-3 Eco Art In this class we will learn how to reduce, reuse, and reinvent! Projects will not only center on using both found objects and recycled materials, but also on utilizing natural materials. Find out not only how to save the earth, but make it beautiful! THURSDAY Grade Pre-K Art Explorers Students will cut, paint, glue, draw, and sculpt! This class will focus on the individuality and creative thinking process of each child as images and three-

5 PS 110 dimensional forms emerge from stories, poetry, and free association. Concepts will come to life as students develop skills to communicate their ideas in unique ways. This is a great class to explore a variety of artistic mediums. Grades Pre-K & K Sing Me A Story In this creative music class, young musicians express themselves by acting out stories and writing original songs. They will explore well-known stories and create their own through theatre and improvisation games. With these tools, they will learn to tell their own stories through song. Grades K-1 Yogamotion Breathe deeply. Meditate. Stretch. Move! Through the ancient art of yoga, students will gain flexibility and have the freedom to dance and explore creative movement. Students will develop the ability to find balance and focus skills that will help them throughout the school year. Grades 1-3 Actor s Workshop Calling all actors! In Actor s Workshop, we will learn key elements of theatre performance and rehearse speaking in front of an audience. We will hone individual skills and collaborate in ensemble work such as play building and scene study. FRIDAY Grade Pre-K Music Makers Through songs, games, and exercises, we ll explore the fundamentals of music. We ll learn about dynamics, tempo, pitch, melody, beat, and rhythm. Grades K-1 Edible Art $25 Materials Fee It's art you can eat! Join us as we make art out of fresh foods, make art inspired by food, and use our creativity and taste buds to the max! Students will be able to take home some art projects, and share recipes with their families. Grades 1-3 Hip Hop With a combination of old school and new school hip hop, dancers will learn cutting edge street dance movements like Step, popping, locking, hitting, jamming, electric boogaloo, break, and other urban dance moves. This class gives every dancer a hip hop dance experience unlike any other.
