1 HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS I finally figured out how to use essential oils TAKE OFF THE CAP Diffuse Use a diffuser to kill airborne germs and improve mood. Very effective. Topical. Rub into your skin. Internal 1. Into the bottoms of your feet (reflexology, more porous and less sensitive than other areas.) You get the full effect of the oil. 2. On the affected area (e.g. DigestZen directly onto your stomach) 3. During massage. Drop into an empty vitamin capsule (available at health food stores) and swallow. For a minor health issue, 2 or 3 applications (2 to 4 drops per application) a day is generally enough. For more serious problems, apply every hour. For oral application, dilute with vegetable oil and rub on gums or teeth or swish around in the mouth. ESSENTIAL OIL SAFETY ONLY dōterra essential oils are safe enough to use internally or undiluted on your skin. Essential oils are generally safe, gentle and effective, without side effects. You don't need to dilute most of dōterra's essential oils, but some oils such as Peppermint, Wintergreen, Oregano, Cinnamon, Clove and Cassia may be uncomfortable undiluted on skin, especially for children. If an oil feels uncomfortable on your skin, rub the area with a little vegetable oil. Dilute essential oils if you're using them on open skin. Keep essential oils out of the eyes, nose and ears, and follow all label directions. If an essential oil gets in the eyes, it will sting but will not do damage. Rub a few drops of vegetable oil on the eye area. Essential oils repair our bodies at a cellular level, so when you're not sure which oils to use, don t be afraid to layer several oils; all of them will help.
