Our mission is to offer the highest quality Sports, Arts & Science Camp for children that provide learning opportunities in a safe and caring environment and where the focus is on having fun while building skills and developing friendships. Our camp families trust our longevity and experience peace of mind, knowing that their kids are happy and enjoying themselves under the guidance and careful supervision of well-trained, experienced staff. This summer, Seneca Summer Camps plans to hire 130 staff members and a 20 person Leadership Team to complement our 5 full-time staff that work year round. We plan to deliver quality programs that provide opportunities for fun, friendships and learning for over 5000 campers! Interviews The interviews for all camp positions will take place between December 2015 and February All NEW staff; returning staff that wish to be considered for a supervisor position; and/or SIT s from 2015 will be required to participate in an in-person interview. All interviews will be conducted at Seneca College, 1750 Finch Ave E., North York. 7 Summer Student Positions Appendix G OPSEU Union As per the Support Staff Collective Agreement, any student working more than 24 hours per week between the period of May 1 and August 31 will be an Appendix G employee. Union dues will be deducted and they shall be entitled to overtime and statutory/ Civic Holiday if scheduled to work. All Senior Staff positions will have a 40 hour contract. Sports Coaches will have a 37.5 hour contract and Arts/Science Instructors will have a 40 hour contract. All Seneca Summer Camps staff must be returning to school (High School, College or University) in the Fall of 2016 to be eligible for employment as determined by the OPSEU Union. The guideline below identifies the weekly wage rates available to 2016 summer staff. We are required to adhere to the pay guidelines and are unable to make any exceptions. These staff members will work more than 40 hours per week and therefore make overtime pay for a portion of these hours. Specific Bus Monitor Training will take place in June. Bus Monitors are required to get on at the first stop and get off at the last stop the entire summer (39 days). Bus Monitors will be paid at their camp specific rate and hired based on camper ridership. Staff may request to ride the bus for the summer without working as a Bus Monitor. Availability for staff riders is determined by the Camp Director on a weekly basis. Extended Care Positions Seneca Summer Camps offers an Extended Care Program for parents requiring additional care. The hours for Before Camper Care are 7:30 a.m. 9:00 a.m. and After Camper Care are 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. There are two Extended Care Supervisor positions available and many staff positions. These staff will work more than their 40 hours per week and therefore make overtime pay for a portion of these hours. Staff members will be given the option to work either morning or afternoon extended care not both. We require staff members to commit to the full summer but staff will be hired based on enrollment. Specific Extended Care Training will take place in June. 8

9 Uniforms All Seneca Summer Camps staff will receive two 2016 uniform T-shirts and a Seneca Summer Camps hat. Additional shirts are available for purchase. The 2016 uniform must be worn at all times throughout your day at camp. Meal Plan All Seneca Summer Camps staff will receive a staff meal card. This allows you to get 8 complimentary lunches at any time throughout the summer. Staff must follow the pre-determined camper meal plan for their lunches. Additional staff meal cards can be purchased from the camp office for $40.00 per 5 meals. Parking Staff are required to pay for parking if they are parking on campus for the duration of the day. We are in negotiations with our parking provider to allow the special $50.00 parking rate for summer staff. More information will be provided at training in June. Seneca Summer Camps Staff Training Information All new and returning Seneca Summer Camps staff must participate in our camp training program to ensure that they are prepared to safely and successfully carry out their jobs. All training is mandatory. 10 SENECA SUMMER CAMPS HOW TO APPLY Seneca Summer Camp s hiring is extremely competitive. We have a very high return rate of staff each summer, therefore few positions open up each summer.
