2 PRINCIPAL S MESSAGE Birmingham Ormiston Academy is an independent state-funded Academy specialising in Creative, Digital and Performing Arts. This Autumn we have a busy schedule of events and performances for you to enjoy in our Academy and in our new theatre, The Old Rep. From musicals to art exhibitions, films to dance performances, plays to interactive games there is something in this Autumn s season for everyone. 4 SEPTEMBER 4TH & 5TH OLD REP LAUNCH 7PM From September 2014 we will be managing and running Birmingham Old Repertory Theatre. To celebrate this year 13 Musical Theatre graduates return to reprise excerpts of the 2013/14 BOA musicals season. Supported by the current year 13 Musical Theatre students, this glorious amalgamation of performances includes highlights from Jason Robert Brown s Parade, Madness smash hit musical Our House and Stephen Sondheim s masterpiece Merrily We Roll Along. Set in 1913 Atlanta, Georgia, Parade tells the true story of Leo Frank who was wrongly convicted of the murder of Mary Phagan. Our House follows the consequences of 16 year old Joe Casey s decisions one fateful night and how two very different choices can shape a man s future. Sondheim s musical Merrily We Roll Along revolves around a trio of old friends depicting defining moments in their lives, but backwards! 5TH YEAR 10 INDUCTION SHOWCASE 2PM BOA welcomes the new year 10 cohort who have been working with our varied industry partners in their first week culminating in a display of their performances and work in an afternoon showcase.

Adults 5 Concessions 4 22ND A DAY IN THE LIFE Open Day Times A sculpture exhibition in the BOA TV Studio for Open Week featuring the creative work of BOA Artists.

6 NOVEMBER 29TH Free Radio Live 2014 BOA is partnering with Free Radio for Free Radio Live This massive pop party takes place at the LG Arena in Birmingham and BOA students will be performing and involved in all aspects of the event. SPRING AWAKENING 1ST-5TH DECEMBER7.30pm Director Ben Occhipinti Musical Director Robert Bannon Choreographer Lee Crowley Matinee 2.30pm - 5th Dec The Tony award winning musical is based on the controversial German play of the same name by Frank Wedekind. Set in late-19th century Germany, the musical tells the story of teenagers discovering the inner and outer tumult of sexuality. Spring Awakening explores the confusion and desperation that ensue when the onrushing tide of hormones meets the ignorance of children. This production celebrates the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, poignancy, and passion that you will never forget. Adults 10 Concessions 8 Please note this production is only suitable for ages 14+ as it contains strong language and adult themes. SPRING AWAKENING, A New Musical - Book and Lyrics by Steven Sater Music by Duncan Sheik Based on the Original Play by Frank Wedekind This amateur production is presented by permission of Josef Weinberger Limited on behalf of Music Theatre International of New York. Performed by arrangement with Josef Weinberger.

7 DECEMBER 16TH-18TH THE LION, THE WITCH & THE WARDROBE 7PM It is an undoubted classic and part of many of our memories of Christmas time. But now take the journey anew as Year 11 Actors come together for the magic, for the epic, for Aslan! Choose your side as you travel through the Wardrobe and into the magical land of Narnia. Bring your own Turkish Delight, the thrills and adventure will be supplied in The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe.
