(1) Slight flowing noise of refrigerant in the refrigerating cycle (2) Slight rubbing noise from fan casing which is cooled and then gradually warmed as operation stops. 1

The vertical air deflectors may be stopped at any position when the auto louder switch is turned "OFF" Horizontal Air Deflectors The horizontal air deflectors can be adjusted. The shape and position of the switches and indicators may vary from different, but their function are similar. 2

4 THERMOSTAT The temperature gets lower from 1 to 5 is for cooling function. The compressor operates continuously by setting the temperature dial to nearly "TEST". Do not set this dial to the setting as it is for testing purpose. When the compressor stops by turning the temperature dial in cooling operation, wait 3 minutes before turning it back to restart the compressor. Immediate returning the dial may cause overload to the machine, resulting in a blown fuse. FUNCTION SELECTION The function selection knob controls fan speed or cooling speed. "HIGH FAN" high speed wind flows out (compressor stopped) "MID FAN" mid speed wind flows out (compressor stopped). (only 18000Btu/h) "LOW FAN" low speed wind flows out (compressor stopped). "HIGH COOL" the fastest cooling is achieved. "MID COOL" the faster cooling is achieved. (only 18000Btu/h) "LOW COOL" slow cooling is achieved. "OFF" the conditioner stop. Slowly turn the knob from "LOW COOL" to "HIGH COOL" do not turn it too often. HOW TO EXHAUST ROOM AIR Turn the lever "CLOSE" to exhaust a portion of the room air. Turn the lever "OPEN" to close vent. Usually this lever is kept at "CLOSE" position (left). Turn the lever "CLOSE" to close ventilation in case of typhoon. 3

6 AIR FILTER The air filter should be washed at least once every 20 days. If the air filter remains full of dust, the air flow will decrease and the cooling capacity will be reduced. The filter is behind the cover and to be pulled out from right hand side. Wash the air filter with water an detergent. Rinse with clean water and dry it before reinstalling. Fig. 3 Fig. 4 Do not use hot water above 40 0 C for washing the air filter. Let the filter dry thoroughly in the shade before reinstalling. Do not expose it directly on the sun. Do not operate the air conditioner with the filter removed. AIR CLEANING FILTER The air cleaning filter is attached to the air filter Wash the air cleaning filter as well when wash air filter.. FRONT COVER, ETC The front cover will accumulate dirt and dust. To clean it, wipe it with a soft dry cloth. When it is excessively dirty, wipe it with a soft cloth dampened with warm water or mild soap, then wipe it again thoroughly with a soft dry cloth. Hot Water Benzene, acid, etc. 5

7 Never use hot water above 50 0 C, benzene, gasoline, acid, thinner or brush to wipe off dirt because they will damage the plastic surface and the coating. LONG OFF PERIOD MAINTENANCE Operate the fan alone ("LOW FAN "or "HIGH FAN") for half a day to dry out the inside of the unit. Turn off power and remove plug from wall socket. After a long off period and going to use the air conditioner again, clean the CONDENSER (at the rear) and EVAPORATOR (at the front) fins by using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. Be careful not to damage the fins during the cleaning. BEFORE ASKING FOR SERVICE Check the following points before requesting for repairs or service. If the malfunction persists, please contact our customer service. Faults Does not operate Cause Is the power off? Is the fuse blown? Is the voltage extremely high or low? Is the operation dial set to "off'? Does not cool effectively Is the air filter remain full of dust or dirt? See air filter instructions on page 5. Is the sunlight fall directly on the unit? Is the air flow on the rear side obstructed? Leave a space of 500mm behind the rear side of the air condition? The doors or windows may be opened widely or there are other sources of heat in the room? The temperature dial may not set to the colder position. Turn the dial further clockwise. Is the ventilation damper opened? 6

8 Installation Instruction REMOVE ALL THE SHIPPING PARTS BEFORE INSTALLATION LOCATION Select a location that can support the weight of the air conditioner and one that will not cause increased operation noise and vibration. Direct sunlight is unfavourable for efficient cooling. Select a place where there is no obstacles near the air inlet and outlet. 9 The installation parts must be strong against corrosion, especially in case the air conditioner will be installed near the sea or hot spring. Do not install air conditioner in the place where inflammable gas leaks are a possibility. OPERATION Check the capacity of wiring and power outlet. The power outlet should be used exclusively for the air conditioner. Do not use it with other appliances. Ground the air conditioner to prevent danger of electric shock. The wires of the power cord are coloured in accordance with the right Fig..for connecting the wires of power cord to the terminals of plug, proceed it. Connect the air conditioner with power source securely. Use a fuse as below. 10 1) Remove the front panel (Fig. 6) Remove the air filter. (Fig. 7) Remove screw at the bottom of the front panel. (Fig. 8) Open the panel cover. Fig.6 2) Remove the screw and retaining bracket from the front of the cabinet. (Fig. 9) 3) Remove the 2 screws from the lower rear side of the cabinet. (Fig. 10) 4) Grasp the handle on the front of the chassis and carefully slide the air conditioner unit out of the cabinet. (Fig. 11) 5) Install the drain tube connection into the hole provided at the rear of the air conditioner chassis. (Fig. 13) (Available for Only) Fig.7 Fig.8 6) Install the air conditioner cabinet on the installation shelf (not included) with screws. (Fig. 12) 7) Carefully slide the unit back into the cabinet.
