2 Spring Term 2013 Rudyard Kipling RAP Ofsted Key Actions Improve the progress of all pupils by: closely monitoring teaching to ensure that all teaching mirrors the best practice that currently exists In the school ensuring that the more able pupils are provided with more challenging work in order to increase the number of pupils gaining the higher National Curriculum levels. Strengthen the effectiveness of the use of assessment by: More effectively monitoring how well all teachers are using assessment to inform future learning undertaking more frequent checking of pupils' work in English and mathematics Setting challenging targets for all pupils. Key Theme 1: To accelerate Progress and Raise Standards To continue to raise attainment outcomes in all year groups including: 2013 Y6 to attain 83% Combined Level4+ (85% Level4+ English, 92% Level4+ Maths) 2013 Y6 to attain 25% Combined Level 5+ (25% Level5+ English, 29% Level5+ Maths) 2013 Y2 to attain 100% L2+ reading, 88.4% L2+ writing,100% L2+ Maths 2013 Y2 to attain 46.5% L3 reading, 30.2% L3 writing,41.9% L3 Maths To ensure that the quality of teaching is improved and expectations are raised so that children make satisfactory or better progress in relation to targets set, including: 100% of Year 6 Pupils make at least 2 levels of progress in English from KS1 100% of Year 6 Pupils make at least 2 levels of progress in Mathematics from KS1 To improve current pupils achievement SEF grade from 2a to 1c Key Theme 2:To improve Learning and Teaching At least 80% of teaching judged good or better To improve current quality of teaching SEF grade from 2a to 1c Key Theme 3: To develop Leadership and Management To secure robust judgements around quality first teaching. To ensure effective monitoring and evaluation leading to whole school improvement. To improve the current effectiveness of leadership & management SEF grade from 2a to 1c To improve well being and behaviour of pupils SEF grade from 2a to 1c 2
3 Whole School Termly Priorities Accelerated Progress & Raising Standards To develop and embed a strategic School Development Plan (SDP) to ensure the continued outstanding progress of the school Improving Learning & Teaching To evaluate and review assessment procedures to ensure learning opportunities and provision meet all children s needs Leading on Learning To develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of Post Threshold teachers for clarity of expectation for all staff To ensure that targeted interventions for indentified vulnerable individuals and groups of learners accelerates progress to close the gap between their attainment and that of other pupils To raise the standards of teaching and learning in reading and writing to impact on the attainment and progress of all pupils To ensure rigorous policy and procedures are in place to support the full induction of all new staff To undertake action research in the areas of boy s learning and AFL to close gaps for identified vulnerable learners within the school To raise the standards of teaching and learning in reading and writing to impact on the attainment and progress of all pupils To Review the curriculum and develop Deep Learning approaches across the school to ensure learning journeys are planned to inspire and motivate all learners in the indoor and outdoor Learning Environment AUTUMN SPRING SUMMER Whole School Termly Priorities Accelerated Progress & Raising Standards To develop pupils metacognition (how we learn and process information) to support children in their awareness of themselves as learners to help them learn more effectively Improving Learning & Teaching To raise the standards of teaching and learning in writing across the school with a specific focus on vulnerable groups of learners Leading on Learning To revisit the SDP (in light of new developments and future actions) in order to ensure the continued outstanding progress of the school through all aspects of leadership To review and revisit the school's home learning policy to ensure that appropriate and regular homework makes a significant contribution to pupils' learning To raise the standards of the teaching and learning of writing across the school with a specific focus on vulnerable groups of learners To further develop distributive leadership through reviewing roles and responsibilities of SLT to impact on quality-first teaching AUTUMN SPRING SUMMER T 3
