Our survey software, CIS (Computer Interview System), has been developed and kept up-todate for 25 years. For just as long, we have been providing a comprehensive service for the implementation of CIS. This ranges from questionnaire programming, through hardware rental and the hosting of online and CATI surveys, to tabulation of the final data. In addition to its CIS services, IfaD has also been offering for 30 years a complete service in data entry and tabulation, as well as consulting in the application of multivariate analysis methods.

From the convenient programming of questionnaires for a range of platforms, through project management, to coding and tabulation, CIS supports the entire computer-aided interviewing process. With CISnet you can organise and monitor your projects online. Use the full-service capacities of IfaD, or become a licensee of CIS. If you prefer, you can use an optimal combination of both options. CIS is an interviewing software created by practitioners for practitioners. CIS fulfils all demands, from simple surveys which can be created intuitively, ranging up to the most complex study. But should you require assistance or additional capacity, the CIS team is always at your service.

10 Face-to-face interviews with CIScapi The questionnaire program is installed on a Windows PC. The interviews are carried out offline using a laptop, pen computer, PDA or Smartphone. After the survey, the data is collected onto a single PC. If this computer has access to the internet, the data can be automatically uploaded to the CISnet server and then becomes available centrally. If each interviewing computer is connected to the internet after one or more interviews, it can also automatically upload the data to the CISnet server. With CAPIO (CAPI Online) and the monitoring tools of CISnet, data from different fieldwork institutes can thus always be made available centrally, even with distributed offline projects. For use in test studios, CAPIO is especially relevant for surveys with a high multimedia content. 11 Web-based telephone interviews with CIScati For the conduct of telephone surveys, CIScati offers a completely web-based solution. All functions, from sample administration through quota management and the handling of appointments, to the monitoring of interviewers, are available online. CATI surveys are administered online via CISnet. The interviewer requires nothing more than internet access and a browser. With CISnetSTUDIO, which can also be installed on each interviewing computer, interviewer convenience and data security are further enhanced. A study can be distributed across an unlimited number of telephone studios. Quotas and sample can be allocated separately for each studio, or applied across multiple studios. 12 Online interviews with CIScawi Every CIS questionnaire can also be conducted online. The survey is hosted on the CISnet server. CISnet provides extensive tools for addressing the required target group (serial s, reminders), for monitoring of the survey, for quota management and for tabulation. Online-based surveys are also optimal for studio interviewing in order to ensure an overview of the study at all times. 14 Questionnaire development with CISdev For questionnaire programming, an intuitive Windows program is provided to enable you to quickly develop simple questionnaires after a brief introductory training. But even for the most complex projects, extensive functions are available. There is just one questionnaire for all platforms. Once written, it will run on all platforms. 15 Coding with CIScode CIScode is a Windows program from IfaD for the coding of open-end responses in CIS surveys. CIScode makes possible the efficient organisation of coding activities with an unlimited number of coders, whether within your own company, or at distributed locations, or using external freelance coders. Coordination can be carried out within the local network or via the internet. Even when the coding work is distributed, you always have an overview of the status of your coding. 16 Tabulation with CIStab You can tabulate the data from CIS surveys simply and conveniently using CIStab. The tabulation is generated automatically from the questionnaire in each questionnaire language. Without further ado you obtain a complete tabulation of all questions, with the relevant filters applied. The tabulation can be expanded without restrictions. Through CISnet you can make the tabulation available to your client online. You can license the use of CISnet components individually, or as a global licence, on a project basis, or based on volume. Talk to us about your needs. 19 Licensing hosting Hosting Hosting of CIS surveys We can host your survey in our data centre in iqsn. iqsn (interactive questionnaire service network) is the survey platform for CIS surveys by IfaD in the internet. Through this platform, IfaD offers the professional hosting of online surveys and web-based CATI surveys. The platform can also be used for the organisation of offline projects. iqsn is directly connected to the internet and makes possible the simultaneous processing of thousands of interviews on multiple parallel servers. The hardware is designed with multiple redundancy, thus guaranteeing breakdown-free operation.

21 Service support Support services for CIS Questionnaire programming Computer-aided surveys open up many new possibilities in comparison to paper-- pencil. These include e.g. multimedia elements such as images, film and sound, pricing models, conjoint analysis, and complicated filter management. But these manifold possibilities also require an intensive involvement with the survey tools themselves and their technical operation. Save yourself this trouble and gain more time to focus on the content. And when you program the questionnaire yourself, our support service is always at your disposal. Hardware For the conduct of CAPI projects we can make available pen computers using CIS. The questionnaire is pre-installed and you can commence your survey without delay. Insurance and transport of the pen computers is organised by us. Simply return the computers to us after completion of the survey. Tabulation For surveys hosted by IfaD, you can download the data from the server at any time via CISnet. We can also support you in questionnaire design and data processing.
