Transcription

1 The position of Behavioral Instructor for children with Autism and other learning and behavior challenges provides valuable experience in the fields of Applied Behavior Analysis, Education and Psychology. If selected, you will be trained to provide an intervention that makes a meaningful contribution to the lives of children and their families. Please read this letter in its entirety for all pertinent information. The position is part-time during the 12-week probationary period. Intensive training is provided during this period in order to develop each trainee s knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Our intervention approach is ABA-based, or based on the application of the science of behaviorism. We apply this science to teach our clients the cognitive, social, play, and language skills needed to strive toward their full potential. If you have past experience providing behavioral intervention services to school age children with autism, you may require less intensive training. Based on demonstrated skill in the implementation of behavioral intervention during the probationary period, you may be considered for a full-time position, if desired. Please consider the following information when making a decision to apply for this position. Minimum qualifications for an instructor are: Bachelor s degree in Psychology or Education preferred; students close to graduation also considered Major duties and responsibilities are: Successful completion of the 12-week probationary period. Completion of 80 hours of supervised training in which behavioral instruction is provided to one or more clients. Instruction hours do not include team meetings, staff meetings, or training seminars. Participate in scheduled team meetings and supervision sessions. Earn satisfactory scores on performance evaluations. Senior Instructors complete these evaluations for each trainee after the 6 th week of the probationary period and again at the conclusion of this period. Our clients reside in the South Bay (Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, etc.), West Los Angeles and Culver City. You must have your own transportation to be considered for this and all positions. During the probationary period, the salary range is $ $18.00 per hour. The rate is determined based on past experience and educational background. This rate may be increased upon successful completion of the probationary period and permanent hiring. Performance evaluations will follow every 6 months. Benefits for full-time employees include medical and dental benefits, 401K, as well as continuing education coursework in the field of Autism intervention. Employees receive mileage reimbursement between clients homes and schools.
