1 Using ECiMail About Using ECiMail With Outlook and Mobile This document provides instructions for setting up ECiMail with Outlook and Apple, Android, and Windows mobile devices. Using ECiMail With Outlook You can connect ECiMail with Microsoft Outlook 2007 and later for desktop access to your . Using ECiMail With Outlook 2013 ECi recommends you use Outlook 2013 with ECiMail. 1. Open Microsoft Outlook Click File. The Account Information page opens. 3. Click and select Account Settings from the drop-down menu. The Account Settings dialog box opens. 4. Click. The Add Account dialog box opens. 5. Select the Account option. 6. Click Next. The Auto Account Setup dialog box opens. 7. Select the Manual Setup or Additional Server Types option. The Choose a Service dialog box opens. 8. Select the Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync Compatible Service option. 9. Click Next. The Server Settings dialog box opens. Updated June

2 Using ECiMail 10. Enter your name and address in the Your Name and Address boxes. 11. Type mail.ecihosted.com in the Mail Server box. 12. Enter your ECiMail password in the Password box. 13. Click Next. The Test Account Settings dialog box opens and displays the Congratulations! All Tests Completed Successfully message. 14. Click Close. Your ECiMail account is added to the Mail sidebar in Outlook. Using ECiMail With Outlook 2007 and 2010 To use ECiMail with earlier versions of Outlook, you must download and install the Zimbra Outlook Connector. Then, you must create profiles for Outlook. Downloading the Zimbra Outlook Connector Notes: Your administrator must download the Zimbra Outlook Connector files directly from Zimbra and then distribute them to employees. Admins can copy the file to a directory or URL that users can access, or use group deployment software to distribute the files. ECi recommends that administrators download and distribute both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. 15. Before you download the ZCO application, determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Outlook Click the Start menu and select Control Panel. The Windows Control Panel opens Click the Search box, and type Mail. The Control Panel window automatically displays the Mail icon, followed by 32-bit or 64-bit. Take note of this information. 16. Click one of the following links to download the ZCO file. Be sure you download the correct version, otherwise you cannot install the application: ZCO 32-Bit ZCO 64-Bit Installing the Zimbra Outlook Connector Users must have temporary administrator privileges on their computer to install the ZCO. 1. Navigate to the folder where you saved the.msi file. 2. Double-click the file to open it. A confirmation prompt displays. 3. Click Run. The Zimbra Connector Setup Wizard opens. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing the ZCO. Configuring the ZCO Server Once you have installed the ZCO, you cannot access Outlook until you have configured the server settings for Zimbra. 1. Open Outlook. The Zimbra Server Configuration Settings dialog box automatically opens. 2. In the Server Name box, type mail.ecihosted.com. 2

3 3. Check the Use Secure Connection box. 4. In the Address box, enter your address. 5. In the Password box, enter your password. 6. Click OK. Outlook opens and displays your ECiMail mailbox by default. Creating Profiles for Outlook Profiles allow you to use multiple accounts with Outlook. 1. Click the Start menu and select Control Panel. 2. Click the Search box and search for Mail. 3. Click. The Mail Setup window opens. 4. Click Show Profiles. The Mail window opens. Using ECiMail 5. In the When Starting Microsoft Outlook, Use This Profile section, select the Prompt for a Profile to be Used option. 6. Click OK. 7. Open Microsoft Outlook. The Choose Profile dialog box appears. 8. Click the down arrow in the Profile Name box and select the profile to use. 9. Click OK to open your mailbox. You cannot switch between profiles while Outlook is open. You must restart Outlook to select a different profile to use. 3

4 Using ECiMail Using ECiMail With Mobile Devices If your administrator has enabled mobility, you can access ECiMail from most mobile devices: iphone: ios 2.0 and later Android: Android OS release 2.1 and later Windows: Windows Mobile OS 5 and later You must know your address, password, and your organization s domain to set up your mobile device for Setting Up ECiMail on iphone Entering ECiMail Mobile settings on your iphone syncs your , contacts, and calendars with your carrier s data plan. This process is the same for all Apple devices. Performing the following steps can delete all of the existing contacts on your iphone. This issue is common for iphone users who create new ActiveSync accounts. ECi recommends you back up all data before proceeding. 1. From the home screen, tap. The Settings screen opens. 2. Scroll down and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars. 3. Tap Add Account. 4. Tap Microsoft Exchange. The Exchange screen opens. 5. Tap the box and enter your company address. 6. Tap the Password box, and enter your password. 7. Tap Description, and enter a description for this account. This box is optional. 8. Tap Next. The Verifying message displays at the top of the screen and the Exchange screen opens. 9. Tap Server, and type mail.ecihosted.com. 10. Tap Username and enter your user name. This is the same name you use to login to your account online. For example, if you login with jdoe@ecihosted.com, you enter jdoe@ecihosted.com in the Username box. 11. Tap Description and enter a description for this account, if needed. This box defaults to Exchange. 12. Tap Save. The Verifying message displays, and the Configuration screen opens. 13. Slide the buttons on this screen to select what items sync to your account. 14. Tap Save. The Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen opens. 15. Specify global settings for your mail accounts as needed. 4

5 Setting Up ECiMail on Android Devices 1. From the Home screen, tap. The Application screen opens. 2. Tap.The Set up screen opens. 3. Tap Add Account. Using ECiMail If you already have one or more accounts set up, tap Settings from the Options menu and select Add Account. 4. Tap the box and enter your full address. 5. Tap the Password box and enter your password. You can tap the Show Password box to show your password as you type it. 6. Tap Next. The What Type of Account screen opens. 7. Tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. The Exchange Server Settings page opens. The Address and Password boxes populate automatically. 8. Tap the Domain\Username box and enter your address after the backslash. For example, if your is enter 9. Tap the Exchange Server box and type mail.ecihosted.com 10. Tap the Use Secure Connection (SSL) box. 11. Tap Next. The Activation Terms of Service prompt opens. 12. Tap OK. The Account Options screen opens. 13. Configure your account settings as needed. Setting Up ECiMail On Windows Phone The following process is for Windows 8 devices only. Setup for earlier Windows devices may differ. For more information, consult ECiMail online help. 1. From the Home screen, swipe left. 2. Tap.The Settings screen opens and displays the System tab by default. 3. Tap + Accounts. 4. Tap Add an Account. The Add an Account Screen Opens. 5. Tap Outlook. 6. Tap the Address box and enter your address. 7. Tap the Password box and enter your password. You can tap the Show Password box to show your password as you type it. 8. Tap Sign In. The phone attempts to locate information to run auto-set up. When the failure prompt displays, tap to continue to the next screen. 5

6 9. Tap the User Name box and enter a user name for your account. For example, if your is jane@example.com, enter Jane in the User Name box. 10. Tap the Domain box and enter the domain for this account. This is the part of your address that follows sign. For example, if your is jane@example. com, enter example.com. 11. Tap Sign In. The phone attempts to run auto-setup again. The We Couldn t Find Your Settings prompt displays. 12. Tap Advanced. The Advanced Settings open. 13. Tap the Server box and type mail.ecihosted.com. 14. Tap Show All Settings to specify what items sync with your phone. Tasks do not sync to Windows phones at this time. Some Windows phones might display an Untrusted Certificate Error message.
