1 A Progressive Story... With a First Aid Theme! Equipment: Nil How to Play: 1. In a circle, tell a story. 2. Each person in the circle gets to add their own portion of the story. For example, the first girl may start with: "When l was out riding my bike last week, l saw two boys collide and fall off their bikes..." Next girl: "One got up not hurt, but the other one had a grazed leg..." Next girl: "I took him over to the tap in the park and with his help cleaned his leg and covered the graze with a clean hanky..." Next girl: "The other boy and l walked him home to his mother..." Next girl: "Last night my little brother touched the hot stove and burned his fingers..." and so on. Red Light - Green Light Equipment: Set of Questions How to Play: 1. One person is chosen to ask the questions 2. The remaining girls line up against one end of the hall. 3. A question is asked, if the question is right or the girls feel they should say yes, they take three steps forward. If the answer is no, or it is something they shouldn't do, they don t move. 4. If they get the wrong answer, they go back to the beginning. 5. The person who is the furthest forward when all questions have been asked is the winner

3 First Aid Feel Equipment: A cloth bag, pens, paper, 8 x different first aid items. How To Play 1. Put one first aid item in a number of socks. 2. Give every play paper and a pen. 3. Pass the sock around and try to identify the items. 4. The girls write down what items they felt and how they would use each item in first aid. 5. The girls who has remember the most items with the correct use is the winner First Aid Pairs Concentration Game Equipment: Set of first Aid situation Cards approximately 12 pairs of cards How to play 1. Shuffle the cards and place them face down. 2. Each girl take a turn in turn over two cards, if she has turned a situation card and its matching treatment card, she may keep the pair and have another turn. If the cards don t match the next player has a turn. 3. The player with the most cards at the end is the winner

Cut out the call sheet and put the squares into a hat or bowl. How to play: 1. Hand out one Bingo card to each child (each card should be different). 2. Have one girl as the caller; the caller should pull out one question, and read it out to the others 3. The remaining girls answer with the correct treatment and if they have that card with the correct response then they place a counter on it. 4. The girl who is the first to collect all the counters calls out BINGO and is the winner.

7 Arm Sling Race Equipment:3-4 arm slings How To Play: 1. One girl is chosen to be the judge. 2. The other girls in the patrol for pairs. 3. One girl acting as victim and standing in front of her partner about 30 feet away. 4. On the go signal, the uninjured partner runs to the victim 5. She asks what is wrong, and applies an arm sling to the arm indicated. She then raises her hand. 6. When the judge sees that the sling is correct, she calls out "Cured!. 7. The girl removes the sling and becomes the victim. 8. The previous victim runs back to the starting spot tags the ground and races back to the new victim. 9. Repeat step The pair that finish first are the winners Quick Challenges With A Challenge. Equipment: purse (large enough to put a hand inside), variety of coins, knotting cord, pen and paper, rewards if you want. How To Play 1. Pass a message around your patrol lip-reading only. Practise until the message is correct. 2. Pass a purse around the Patrol. Feel the coins in the purse and add up the total. Check to see who has guessed the right amount. 3. Tie a reef knot using only your toes. 4. Find a partner tie a reef knot one girl using her left hand the other girl using her right hand. Swap hands and try again. 5. Using your toes only write a message down. To make it fun you could race each other and the first one to finish or get it correct gets a reward

8 Learn How to Sign the Alphabet Equipment: A set hand symbols for signing the alphabet How to Play 1. In your Patrols learn how to sign the alphabet. 2. Taking it in turns, spell out a simple message. 3. The first to guess the correct message wins 4. Take turns in signing your name. 5. Learn the Guide Promise.

9 Basic Dog Biscuits for Charity Equipment: 2½ cups whole wheat, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon beef stock granules, ½ cup hot water, oven, bowls, wooden spoon, rolling pin, nonstick baking paper, cookie cutter, oven trays, cooling racks, oven mitts. How To 1. Preheat oven to Line the trays with the baking paper. 3. Dissolve stock granules in hot water 4. Add the remaining ingredients. 5. Knead dough until it forms a ball (about 3 minutes) 6. Roll out the dough until 1cm thick. 7. Cut out shapes with the cookie cutter. 8. Place the biscuits onto the prepared trays. 9. Cook in oven for about 30 min. 10. Cool on tray. Optional Add ins: Swap different stock, bacon bits, oats, liver powder, wheat germ Good Turn Dice Equipment: cardboard, pens, sticky tape Preparation: Draw a 10 cm cube template onto cardboard. On each of the squares write or draw a good turn ie wash the dishes, feeding the pets, clearing the table, peeling the vegetables. Cut out the cube shape and sticky tape it together. How to play: 1. The patrol members stand in a circle. 2. Each girl takes it in turns to throw the dice to another girl. 3. When it is caught that girl then mimes out the good turn for the others to guess. 4. When the mime is guessed correctly the dice is the thrown onto another girl. 5. Continue until every girl has had a turn
