2 DELAWARE COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND ROSEMONT COLLEGE DUAL ADMISSION AGREEMENT Delaware County Community College (DCCC) and Rosemont College (RC) enter into this agreement in order to facilitate the transfer of students from DCCC to RC for the purpose of entering a baccalaureate degree program. This agreement terminates the Dual Admission Agreement between Delaware County Community College and Rosemont College signed August Subject to the terms of this agreement, a student who completes the designated associate s degree program (see below) at DCCC will be guaranteed admission to RC with third year (junior) status. Students intending to attend Rosemont College on a full-time or part-time basis are eligible to participate in this articulation, however only students attending on a full-time basis may complete the requirements for the bachelor's degree program within two years of study, although certain majors may require more than 120 credits. All A.A., A.S., and A.F.A. transfer programs at DCCC, excluding Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Global Studies, Photography, Human Service, Social Work, and Science for Health Professions are designated as part of the Dual Admission Agreement: Terms and Conditions: To be eligible to take advantage of this agreement, the following terms and conditions must be met: Graduate from DCCC with an Associate in Science (A.S.), Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Fine Arts (A.F.A.) degree, excluding Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Global Studies, Photography, Human Service, Social Work, and Science for Health Professions; To earn junior standing at RC, students must transfer with a minimum of 58 transferable credits. It is possible that some DCCC courses, although part of the Associate degree program at DCCC, may not be transferable to RC. Achieve a grade of "C" or above for any and all courses transferred to RC including courses transferred to and accepted by DCCC from other institutions; A maximum of 66 transferable college credits from a community college will transfer to RC. Any transferrable courses completed at a four year institution can transfer for additional credits beyond the 66 from a community college. Speak to a RC admissions representative for details. Remaining courses must be completed at RC as there is a 30 credit residency
3 requirement. In addition, at least half of the requirements in the major or area of specialization, the comprehensive examination and/or any special examinations required for licensure and/or certification programs must also be completed at RC; DCCC students will sign a Dual Admission Intent to Enroll Form before completing 45 college-transferable credits at DCCC, this includes credits that were transferred to DCCC from other institution. The Dual Admission Intent to Enroll Form will supplement the application form to RC and affirm the student's intention to attend RC after completion of a designated associate degree program at DCCC; Enroll at Rosemont on a full-time or part-time basis; Graduate from DCCC with a minimum GPA of 2.0; Enroll at Rosemont within one year of DCCC graduation; Do not attend another institution of higher education between the time they graduate from DCCC and enroll at Rosemont; Submit a final DCCC transcript to Rosemont College to verify that the conditions of this agreement have been met. Transfer credits from other institutions which are accepted by DCCC will count as transfer credits by RC if the grade is "C" or above and the courses fulfill program requirements. Official transcripts from all transfer colleges must be sent to the Rosemont College Office of Admissions; and, International Students who complete the associate degree at DCCC are exempt from taking the TOEFL or IELTS. Obligations of Rosemont College: Waive the $35 admissions application fee; Send students who have completed an Intent to Enroll Form correspondence regarding acceptance in the semester in which they complete the Intent to Enroll Form. Students are required to complete an admission application. Provide DCCC students who participate in this articulation all the rights and privileges afford to all Rosemont College students. Students with a DCCC cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 and above, who will be enrolling at Rosemont College on a full time basis are eligible to receive scholarships. These scholarships are renewable each year at Rosemont College contingent upon maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0. For the academic year, the amounts vary between $3,500 and $7,500. These scholarships along with Rosemont Tuition are subject to change. Students who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may also be eligible to receive other federal, state and Rosemont College need-based grants as well as other types of financial aid. Students must attend Rosemont on a full-time basis to be eligible for the merit based scholarships.
4 Rosemont College Transfer Scholarships GPA Resident Commuter $7,500 $5, $4,500 $3,500 In addition to merit based scholarships, any DCCC student who is a member of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), is eligible for an additional $1,500 annual scholarship. Students must show proof of membership, maintain a 3.2 while at RC to renew it, and attend Rosemont on a full-time basis. The scholarship is renewable for two years. There is no obligation on the part of the DCCC student if the student decides not to transfer to RC. There is no fee required for the Dual Admission Intent to Enroll Form. General Education Requirements: Appendix A outlines the courses at DCCC that would fulfill the RC General Education requirements. Courses taken outside of Appendix A should be approved by RC before taken or the student may not receive credit for the course. This agreement does not ensure that all general education requirements at Rosemont College will be fulfilled by the DCCC transfer credits of the student in question. Additional courses may need to be taken at RC to fulfill RC s general education requirements. If any of the terms described in this agreement are not met, RC shall determine appropriate transfer of credit and admission on an individual course basis. Joint Obligations: DCCC and RC will assure that appropriate personnel in their respective institutions are aware of this agreement and will support it and will designate a representative to serve as institutional liaison and coordinate the Dual Admission process. This agreement will automatically renew unless personnel from DCCC and RC determine that a meeting is necessary to review and/or amend this agreement. Either institution may terminate this agreement at any time by written notice. In the event that the agreement is not renewed, RC will honor the agreement and admit DCCC students who have already signed the Dual Admission Intent to Enroll Form. RC will provide opportunities for meetings with students on DCCC campuses to provide information and assistance in matriculating to RC. Faculty, staff and administrators of both institutions are encouraged to visit the campuses of each institution. The RC Office of Undergraduate Admissions will provide DCCC with promotional literature which will be used to assist DCCC students and periodically exchange data and documents which contribute to the maintenance and improvement of this agreement. RC and DCCC will jointly develop and implement advertising and promotional initiatives to communicate the benefits of the Dual Admission Agreement between DCCC and RC. This agreement will become effective beginning February Signatures are on file in the Transfer Office.
