The Ultimate in Home Enjoyment & Entertainment Beazer Homes December 2013
Congratulations on the purchase of your new BEAZER home! Audio Buys will be one of the trade partners that will be working on your home throughout the construction process. With over 20 years of experience in the consumer electronics industry, we are confident in our abilities to assist you in a design a plan to meet your family s current and future needs. From basic telephone and TV outlets to an advanced whole house audio / video & communication system, we can design a system to fit your lifestyle. Per Beazer s request, all Structured Low-Voltage Wiring / Media & Communications selections must be made within 30 days of your contract date. These selections should be made prior to the electrical meeting as some of the technology related options have AC power requirements. For example, a flat panel TV above a fireplace requires an electrical outlet to be added to your electrical options. Prior to our meeting, here are some things to consider: Do you want to help protect your family and valuables by enhancing the HONEYWELL Security system in your home? Most common additions include window sensors, monitored smoke detectors, carbon monoxide and glass break sensors. Will you have Cable service, Satellite service or both and in what rooms? Will you have a computer and which rooms would you like internet connectivity? Do any of your electronics require network connectivity? Ex: Fios, Music Servers.. Are you interested in mounting any flat panel TVs on the wall? If so, where will the source components be located? (Cable Box, DVD Player, Tivo) Will you want music around the house? Would you like different music to play in different rooms at the same time? Are you interested in a Surround Sound System / Home Theater? Would you like a central vacuum system? How will the furniture be laid out in the room? This will assist in outlet and device positioning. The best opportunity you will have to enhance your home with these options is right now during the construction of your home. Please contact Tammy Congel at to schedule your appointment with Stan Kalnitzky or Barry Wittenberg. Your Audio Buys Team! Wellington Center Circle Suite 123 Gainesville VA

A radio unit provides for an alternate communication method for alarm monitoring systems (no telephone line required). The radio also allows for complete interactive programming with Honeywell and Security Central Total Connect web-based services. Additional Monitoring fees apply - SEE Audio Buys representative for further details Option # SC Additional Keypad: This allows the homeowner to operate the system (arm / disarm) the system from another location in the home. The front door or basement door, if frequently used as a primary point of entrance, would be a convenient place for an additional keypad. Option # SC Window and Door Contact: Use this option if you wish to secure / protect a window or door that is not covered in the base security system selected. This is commonly required when structural options are selected. (Sun Rooms, Conservatory, Bay Windows, Optional Doors and Windows ) *Note: Additional window and door contacts may be required for any structural items purchase* Option # SC (PIR) Dual Technology Motion Detector: These detectors provide superior detection because they use both Passive Infrared and Microwave technology. 4
Additional Security Options (Cont d.) Option # SC Glass Break Detector: Includes one Glass Break Detector which can be mounted on any wall or ceiling to detect intrusion by sensing the sound the breaking glass. Option may be purchased multiple times in one home. Option # SC Monitored Carbon Monoxide Detector: Includes one monitored carbon monoxide detector which can warn you of high levels of CO and send signals to Security Central s central monitoring station, who can then notify the fire department. Note: Some states require Carbon Monoxide Detectors to be installed in all homes. This Wireless Carbon Monoxide Detector (s) is NOT intended to be the primary household carbon monoxide warning system. It is intended to augment the performance of carbon monoxide sensors which may be required by applicable state laws. Locations are as follows: Basement level; near the proximity of the furnace and/or water heater. First floor in close proximity of the kitchen Second floor, upper level hallway area. Option # SC Monitored Smoke Detector: This is your first line of defense in the event of a fire. These detectors will send a signal to your monitoring company in the event a fire should occur. It is recommended that one detector be placed on each level of your home along with the already installed Smoke Detectors provided by your home builder. Option # SC Water Sensor (Flood): These Sensors can spare you the headaches of water leaks that go undetected for hours or even days. They are usually placed near sump pumps, dish washers, washing machines or any area that a water leak could cause damage or harm your home. These sensors will alert your monitoring company in the event water is sensed and you will be notified. Option # SC Camera Pre-wire: Run Cat5, 18/2 and coax from future camera location to structured wiring panel. 5
Structured Wiring (Standard) Option # SC PROVIDES: AN INFRASTRUCTURE TO SUPPORT: 2 ea TELEPHONE OUTLETS (CAT-5e wiring) 2 ea CABLE TV OUTLET (RG6 Coax wiring) THE BASE HOUSE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: STANDARD NETWORK INTERFACE PANEL, 18-INCH o PASSIVE CABLE TV DISTRIBUTION o TELEPHONE DISTRIBUTION W/ RJ45 PATCH CONNECTORS o BUILT-IN 110V POWER OUTLET TELEPHONE OUTLETS o UPON MOVE IN, OUTLETS WILL BE CONFIGURED FOR 2 LINES. o NOTE: TWO-LINE SERVICE MUST BE ORDERED FROM THE PHONE COMPANY. CABLE TV OUTLETS Additional Structured Wiring Options: Option # SC **Included at no additional cost with purchase of Finished Lower Level** 1 ea - Telephone Outlets = (1) each CAT-5e 1 ea - Cable TV Outlets = (1) each RG6 Option # SC Network Module/ Panel Upgrade Module for computer networking equipment (8 port switch) and upgrade panel to QN36. Option # SC Additional Phone/Network Outlet Single outlet plate with jack; CAT-5e phone connected to structured wiring panel. Option # SC Additional Multimedia Outlet Single outlet with 2 jacks; RG6 / Cat-5E connected to structured wiring panel. Option#SC Structured Wiring Conduit Orange 1.5 flex pipe with pull line (Basement to attic or Local to TV). 6
Phone/Network Outlet Option # SC Description: The homeowner should consider this option for standard voice lines, fax machines, or modems. To ensure optimal performance, Category 5 wiring is installed in a Home Run configuration rather than the traditional daisy-chained two-pair wire that has been used in new home construction. Category 5 twisted pair wiring offers significantly higher performance and flexibility and reduces the likelihood of negative effects such as cross talk, noise and static. Category 5 twisted pair wiring consists of four (4) twisted pair wires and therefore provides flexibility at each outlet to support up to four phone numbers. Please note the number of outlets that can be added is based on the modules installed in the interface panel. 1 Each - Home Run Category 5 twisted pair wiring from selected spot This wire is capable of supporting 4 telephone numbers. Upon move in, outlet will be configured for 2 lines. NOTE: TWO-LINE SERVICE MUST BE ORDERED FROM THE PHONE COMPANY. Twisted pairs offers a reduction in the chance of cross talk and static Ultra-High Bandwidth for passing digital signals CAT-5e wiring Outlet plate / Jack 7
Multi-Media Outlet (Computer Network & TV Outlet) Option # SC Description: The homeowner should consider this option for all television locations. Each Multimedia outlet consists of RG-6 quad shield cable and a CAT-5e cable. RG-6 is a high quality video cable which can support cable TV, digital satellite, attic antennas and HDTV broadcasts. RG-6 cable is designed to transfer digital signals to TVs without degrading the signal. By running the RG-6 cable in a Home Run configuration, video distribution can easily be re-configured as changes are needed. This home run installation method is far superior to the conventional daisy chain installations of the past. 1 Each Home Run RG-6 coaxial cable from selected spot 1 Each - Home Run Category 5 twisted pair wiring Computer Network outlet (May require network router and/or switch to be active) Able to pass digital signals without degradation at high band width The way we watch television, or even communicate with one another, is changing. Digital technology as well as convergence products, web TV for example are combining many products into one unit. Using lower performance wire today will limit the homeowners ability to take advantage of current and future technologies. HDTV (High-Definition Television) is broadcast in some areas today but within several years this will be the primary format network TV stations are transmitted. With lower performance cable, it would be impossible to see all of the advantages of digital source material: higher resolution, sharper picture, greater depth and better sound quality. Using RG-6 wire ensures you will be ready for the future. Multi-media outlet 8
Conduit with Pull String From Attic to Structured Wiring Panel Option # SC Description: 1½ flex conduit is installed from the network interface panel to the attic. A pull string will be installed in the conduit. This will provide assistance when additional cables need to be run to the upper level of you home. With today s changing technology, this option provides a solution for retrofitting wiring or adding to the systems already installed in your home. 9
Distributed Music System with Sonos Amp (Per Selected Location) Option # SC Description: This speaker option allows the homeowner to enjoy true musical reproduction throughout the house.
