4 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. 27 PRAY

28 PRAY Prayer is the heart of spiritual warfare. The very act of prayer is an admission that there is someone greater than I and that I am not able. Part of spiritual warfare is the recognition that you are not able in your own strength; you need God to hold you by the hand and fight on your behalf. -Clinton Arnold

31 Prayer is the communication by which the weapons of warfare are deployed according to the will of God. Prayer is for war. So I do not tire of saying to our church: The number one reason why prayer malfunctions in the hands of believers is that they try to turn a wartime walkie-talkie into a domestic intercom. Until you believe that life is war, you cannot know what prayer is for. John Piper
