Held biannually, the event is open to over 4,000 Haileybury community members and the wider South-East Melbourne community. Haileybury is proudly a multicultural community with strong links and deep engagement in Asia. Education is one of Australia s key exports and as a result Haileybury has developed key partnerships throughout Asia. In 2015 the Festival attracted over 2,500 people, and this number is expected to grow. The Festival attendees are a mix of parents, students, staff, and families from the broader community and surrounding suburbs. The Festival attracts an extensive range of traders from some of Melbourne s premier food trucks to local businesses. The Street Market provides a bustling place for festival-goers to shop and taste different cuisines. Entertainment is sourced from across Melbourne to provide an exciting display over the two stages within the Festival precinct. Cooking demonstrations, Asian craft workshops and carnival rides ensure that there is something for people of all ages. 4 2015 LUNAR NEW YEAR FESTIVAL Haileybury s 2015 Lunar New Year Festival was a cultural experience celebrated by friends and families within the School and the South-East Melbourne community. It was a joyous occasion attended by well over 2,500 people, who enjoyed delectable Asian cuisine, a twilight market with stalls from around Melbourne, carnival rides, craft workshops, Asian cooking demonstrations and outstanding entertainment.
