1 Meet Mdle Students intrductin t Mdle and 1. What is Mdle? Mdle is the sftware used fr the Student Intranet and nline curses als knwn as a Virtual Learning Envirnment r VLE fr shrt. It is a web based service which yu can access at any time within cllege, at wrk r frm hme a cmputer r mbile device. Mdle is used t keep yu up t date with imprtant cllege infrmatin, annuncements and events, as well as prviding yu with curse ntes, and nline learning activities t help yu with yur studies. 2. Hw d I get t Mdle? Mdle is set as the default internet hmepage fr all cllege cmputers, simply lg n t a cllege cmputer and pen either f the fllwing brwsers: Internet Explrer Ggle Chrme Yu can als access Mdle at hme via the Mdle Curses link at the bttm f the cllege website as shwn belw: Alternatively yu can type the fllwing web address int any web brwser:

The Student Intranet is used t infrm yu f imprtant cllege events and annuncements, and prvide yu with infrmatin n the fllwing: Curses: a link that will navigate yu directly t yur curses Cllege: links t Cllege Facilities, Maps, Plicies & Standards and Prcedures fr HE Services: links t Careers, Learning Supprt, Cunselling, Sprts & Leisure and Finance Library: links t Online Resurces, Library Catalgues, Help and Supprt Students: links t Students Unin News and Events, LGBT Supprt Grup and StARs Help: links t Student Guides fr all Cllege Systems, Reprting a Prblem and Yur Safety The menu bar navigates yu t yur curse, cllege infrmatin, student infrmatin and services. Ensure yu lg in int Mdle befre accessing yur curse pages. This link will navigate yu t infrmatin n reprting abuse and advice. The annuncements shw yu imprtant news and infrmatin. These quick links navigate yu t student web based services. These links will navigate yu t tpical infrmatin and events.

3 4. Hw d I lg int Mdle? Yu will always need t lg in t Mdle befre yu are able t view yur curses, click n the lg in link in the tp right crner f the Student Intranet (Hmepage). In rder t lgin yu must lgin t Mdle using the fllwing methd: Username = yur ID Number lcated n yur student card e.g xxxxx Passwrd = yur date f birth in the fllwing frmat - dd/mm/yyyy 5. Hw d I access my Curses? Once yu have lgged in t Mdle click n Curses within Quick Links and yu will be presented with the Mdle: My Curses Hmepage with a list f yur curses... Alternatively yu can access yur curses using the menu bar at the tp f the Student Intranet.

4 6. What is Mdle: My Curses? The Mdle: My Curses Hmepage serves as a hme fr the curse/s yu are studying as well as access t sme f the fllwing cmpnents: Administratin Blck: allws yu t update yur prfile settings and access messages Messages Blck: allws yu t access any messages sent t by yur peers r yur tutrs. Upcming Events Blck: will display a list f events including timetabled classes, assignment deadlines, exams and ther planned events Calendar Blck: will display all upcming events within that current mnth as well as giving yu the ability t view previus and future mnths Timetables Blck: will display yur upcming timetabled classes Attendance Blck: will display yur attendance data that yu can find within PrPrtal Administratin Blck Upcming Events Blck Curses and My Curse Blck Messages Blck Calendar Blck 7. Editing yur prfile Yu will see an Administratin Blck n the left hand side f the Mdle: My Curses Hmepage and mst curse pages, in rder t edit yur prfile fllw these instructins: click n My Prfile Settings click n Edit Prfile Here yu can update yur accunt address, add a pht and add sme infrmatin abut yurself.

Yur Mdle Curse Yur Mdle Curse will cntain a curse menu with links t different curse units r tpic areas and each unit r tpic will cntain numerus links t sme f the fllwing: Assignment Mdule Chice Activity File Flder Frum Glssary Lessn Page Quiz Turnitin Assignment URL / Web Links Curse Title The curse menu links t curse sectins r tpics. The calendar blck displays curse and cllege dates. These resurces and activities link t curse ntes, files, assignments and ther learning resurces.

Student and Office 365 All students are prvided with a full Office 365 mail accunt, which yu can access frm cllege and/r hme via the Office 365 website and the mbile app. Alternatively yu can type the fllwing web address int any web brwser: Once yu have lgged in t Mdle click n Student within Quick Links and yu will be presented with a lgin screen...
