8 Mix of activities: Guided Reading Comprehension (answering questions about an extract of text) Grammar Free writing (writing for real audiences, using diaries, letter writing paper, cards) Discussions based a text Reading Records Children to record the books they have read in their Super Readers daily. Please read with your child once a week and write in their reading records.
9 Termly spelling booklet Everyone to learn theme words and common words, encourage children to try challenge words Look Cover Write Check, then writing the spelling in context recommended. Finding other words to fit the theme/pattern encourages better understanding and ability to apply knowledge No set weekly spelling test Little and often is the best practice.
10 Maths Set on Monday by maths teacher Mathletics to be completed by Thursday English Discussed on Thursday, books given out Due in by the following Monday Following Parent, Pupil and Teacher questionnaires, we are developing a new homework policy.
