This manal spplements the installation manal of the following inverters: Snny Central 400HE-11 (SC 400HE-11) Snny Central 500HE-11 (SC 500HE-11) Snny Central 630HE-11 (SC 630HE-11) These inverter types will be referred to as "Snny Central" in the following. Combining the voltage stabilizer with other inverter types is not possible and is explicitly not recommended. Target Grop This gide is for electrically skilled persons. A qalified electrically skilled person is conversant with the practices of installing electrical systems as well as the dangers and risks involved. 7 SUNNY CENTRAL 630HE SMA SMA Solar Technology AG 2 Safety 2 Safety 2.1 Appropriate Usage The voltage stabilizer connects the Snny Central with the pblic power distribtion grid in order to secre the internal power spply of the inverter. The voltage stabilizer redces flctating grid voltages in order to ensre a constant power spply to the SnnyCentral. The voltage stabilizer may only be sed with a specially adapted Snny Central xxxhe-11 device. If a voltage stabilizer is installed later as an pgrade, SMA Solar Technology AG mst be contacted abot the modification of the inverter. 8 2 Safety SMA Solar Technology AG 2.2 Safety Instrctions Following Handling Instrctions High voltages are present in the voltage stabilizer. Failre to follow this manal, the operating instrctions and the safety notes may lead to severe injry from electric shock. Only perform work as described in this manal. Observe all safety notes. Disconnecting the Device Work on the inverter is only allowed if the power is disconnected and in compliance with the gidelines that apply at the installation location. Disconnecting the device: grid voltage Ensre that the device cannot be reconnected. Ensre that no voltage is present in the system. Grond and short-circit. Cover or safegard any adjacent live components. Error-Free Operation of the Voltage Stabilizer In case of a grond falt, assme that gronded plant components are still live. Ensre there is no voltage present before toching. The operation of a damaged voltage stabilizer can lead to serios injries throgh electric shock. Operate the voltage stabilizer only if it is in a technically proper and operationally safe stats. Operate the voltage stabilizer only if there is no visible damage and check reglarly for visible damage. Ensre that all external safety eqipment is freely accessible at all times and is checked for proper fnctioning at least once a year. Protective Condctor Connection Also connect the gronding bridge when replacing the voltage stabilizer. Warning Signs Warning signs mst be easily readable at all times and mst be replaced in the event of damage. Storing the Docmentation Keep this docmentation within close reach of the voltage stabilizer. 9 SMA Solar Technology AG 2 Safety 2.3 Personnel All work on the voltage stabilizer may only be carried ot by qalified technical personnel. Qalified means that the personnel has the relevant training for the tasks. The personnel mst be familiar with the contents of this gide and the Snny Central manal in order to commission and operate the voltage stabilizer. Especially the safety notes mst be observed. Check the voltage stabilizer visally before installation. 11 SMA Solar Technology AG 4 Monting 4 Monting 4.1 Choosing an Installation Site Reqirements: Installation site is located inside a closed bilding. The fondations mst be level and solid. The installation site is not in close proximity to a sorce of heat. Minimm clearances have been observed. 13 SMA Solar Technology AG 4 Monting 1. Mark the position of the drill holes. 2. Drill the holes and insert sitable screw anchors. 3. Attach the voltage stabilizer to the floor sing appropriate screws and washers. 4. Check that the voltage stabilizer is secrely in place. Installation Gide Ukonstanter-IEN

If the operating temperatre of the voltage stabilizer exceeds 50 C, the Snny Central will sht down since the voltage stabilizer will no longer be able to ensre a stable power spply. 5.2 Line Circit Breaker In order to operate the voltage stabilizer, it is necessary to secre the power spply of the Snny Central with a 16 A type D line circit breaker. The line circit breaker is located in the station sb-distribtion. Check which line circit breaker is installed. A 16 A type D line circit breaker is installed. 15 SMA Solar Technology AG 5 Electrical Connection Replace it with a matching type D line circit breaker. 5.3 Inserting the Cables Reqired cables: 2x1.5mm 2 cable for temperatre monitoring 3x4 mm 2 cable for the V circit, maximm cable length: 7 m 2x4 mm 2 cable for the 415 V circit 1x4 mm 2 PE cable for the enclosre Flashover along the srface of the cable inslation. Use separate cable channels for the V circit and the 415 V circit in order to ensre sfficient inslation between the two circits. 16 5 Electrical Connection SMA Solar Technology AG 1. Unscrew the screws on the cover and remove the cover. 2. Insert the protective condctor cable throgh the cable gland. 3. Insert the temperatre monitoring cables throgh the cable gland. 4. Insert the cable of the 415 V circit throgh the cable gland. 5. Insert the cable of the V circit throgh the cable gland. 6. Attach the cable inside the voltage stabilizer in sch a manner as to ensre proper strain relief. 5.4 Connecting the Cables Inside the Voltage Stabilizer There will be no proper protection if the protective condctor cable is connected incorrectly. Check if the gronding bridge matches the circit diagram. Check if the protective condctor bridge is available at the terminal strip according to the circit diagram. Protective condctor bridge is available. Protective condctor bridge is not available? Establish protective condctor bridge according to the circit diagram. 2. Strip the cable inslation. 3. Attach a terminal lg to the cable. 4. Connect the protective condctor cable to the protective condctor gronding point in the voltage stabilizer Connect the protective condctor cable to the protective condctor rail in the station sbdistribtion otside of the voltage stabilizer. Connecting the Temperatre Monitoring 1. Strip the cable inslation. 2. Connect the cables to the terminals. Use wire sleeves for this. 3. Also connect the protective condctor cable according to the circit diagram Tighten the cable screw connections. Connecting the 415 V Circit 1. Strip the cable inslation. 2. Connect the cables to the terminals. Use wire sleeves for this Tighten the cable screw connections. Closing the Voltage Stabilizer 1. Pt on the cover and tighten the screws. The exact position of the terminal strip can be determined with the help of the reference designation. Connect the 415 V circit. Connecting the Temperatre Monitoring 1. Strip the cable inslation. 2. Insert a screwdriver into the sqare-shaped opening next to the terminal and open the terminal lock by pressing it. 3. Connect the cables to the terminals. Use wire sleeves for this. 4. Insert a screwdriver into the sqare-shaped opening next the terminal and open the terminal lock by pressing it. 3. Connect the cables to the terminals. Use wire sleeves for this. 4. 23 SMA Solar Technology AG 6 Commissioning 6 Commissioning Snny Central Installation Manal Follow all instrctions in the Snny Central installation manal. Reqirements for Commissioning There is a protective condctor connection between the voltage stabilizer and the Snny Central. All screws and cable glands are tight. The line circit breaker is working properly. The voltage stabilizer is started p as soon as the Snny Central is started p. Installation Gide Ukonstanter-IEN

24 7 Maintenance and Service SMA Solar Technology AG 7 Maintenance and Service Maintenance Intervals Observe the information in the Snny Central maintenance gide. The maintenance gide describes all relevant safety notes and maintenance intervals. Maintenance Work: Press the test btton on the residal crrent device in the Snny Central every 2 years. This ensres that the residal crrent device is working properly. The residal crrent device will trip and the indicator light on the service socket will go ot. The residal crrent device does not trip or the indicator light on the service socket does not go ot? Replace the residal crrent device. Check that the connection cable is secrely in place. Check the voltage stabilizer for dirt every 6 months. Always ensre that the vents are free of dirt or foreign objects. Check if the fan is fnctioning correctly every 12 months.
