2 First, We need to realize where sin cam e fro m Adam. All the descendents of Adam, including you, have the curse of sin as seen below. We all have sin natures (represented by the snake) going all the way back to Adam Sin: Adam and Eve obeyed the Devil instead of obeying God. They acted independent of God s authority. Anything we do independent of God s authority is sin. sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:4 God s words says in Romans 3:23 all have sinned This includes You!

3 Seco ndly, we learn that The Penalty o f Sin is Death Adam Eve in Adam all die 1 Corinthians 15:22 The Wages of Sin is Death Roman 6:23 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. Romans 5:12 The Bible also describes that death without Christ means one will go to the lake of fire. The lake of fire was not made for man but for the devil and the fallen angels. However, if we reject God s only way of salvation, the Bible says that we too must go there. Revelation 20:14-15 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

4 Next, we must see that God made a way for people to escape sin s terrible penalty of eternal death Before Christ came, God demanded a blood sacrifice where an innocent lamb had to die in the place of guilty sinners. The offerer confessed his sins over the sacrificial lamb prior to the lamb being offered by the priest. The lamb died in place of the sinner. Thousands upon thousands of sacrifices were offered by God s people prior to Christ s coming.

5 Go d taught in his law that it was necessary fo r an inno cent anim al to die in the place o f the guilty sinner. Proof of this Bible truth And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Hebrews 9:22 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Leviticus 17:11 and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, Exodus 12:13 the blo od o f these anim als did no t satisfy Go d s righteo us dem and to co m pletely rem o ve m an s sin. Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

6 Because a lamb s blood didn t make the offerer perfect, God came Himself as our sacrificial lamb in the Person of Jesus Christ. How did God become our Sacrificial Lamb? God sent his own Son to earth two thousand years ago to be our innocent, sinless, perfect Sacrifice. Mary had the Christ-child without any relationship with a man Though Mary herself was a sinner, by a miracle she birthed a sinless Savior. Christ was born without a sin nature.

7 Christ was conceived without Adam s sin by the miracle of the virgin birth. This is how he could die for us and shed his blood to remove the curse of Adam that we are under. Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23 Because Christ himself wasn t born under the curse of Adam, he has the power and authority to save us who are under Adam s curse from sin and death. Christ s birth was perfect, His life was perfect, and His sacrifice for our sin is also perfect. This is how Jesus can offer as a gift His perfect righteousness to cover our sin. Why? Because Jesus is perfect, and He is both God and Man. The fact that Jesus is both God and Man is clearly stated in the Bible. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and his name shall be called the mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest {revealed} in the flesh, 1 Timothy 3:16

8 This is why the cro ss is so im po rtant. This is where Christ, who is both Go d and M an, paid fo r our sin with his o wn precio us blood Made Sin For Us When we turn to Christ for His forgiveness, He exchanges His righteousness for our sin. This is a miracle. Jesus took the curse of our sin upon Himself and paid the penalty for the world s sin with his blood on the cross. This includes You!

9 Remember, there is nothing in the entire universe that can wash away man s sin except Jesus blood. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 1 Peter 1:18-19 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Corinthians 5:21 A miracle takes place when a person places their trust in Christ s blood for their cleansing. God declares the sinner righteous based on the merits of Jesus Christ, by His dying in their place and by His raising again for their justification. Justification means God looks at you just as if you had never sinned. Isn t that wonderful? But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Galatians 3:13 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened {made alive} by the Spirit: 1 Peter 3:18

10 The Bible says that after his death, he was buried for three days and then m iraculously, he rose again! Christ was Buried Christ s Resurrection is pro of that Jesus truly was God in a hum an body. He Rose Again! His resurrection proves Christ has the power and authority to be our payment for sin and to totally change our life.

11 Concerning the Resurrection of Christ 1. Jesus spoke of it. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25 2. His disciples witnessed it. And the angel answered and said Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Matthew 28: The early church accepted it. And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: Romans 1:4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15: Church history testifies to it. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3

12 The Bible states that forty days After Jesus rose again, He went back to heaven. This pro ves He is Go d and is able to save you now! After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once 1 Corinthians 15:6 See Ephesians 4:8-10, Acts 1:9, Mark 16:19 & John 20:17

13 In order for you to receive god s forgiveness for your sin and be assured that you are going to heaven when you die, not only do you need to believe that the death, burial and resurrection of Christ was for your sin payment, but you also need to receive the gift of his righteousness. This means God looks at us as if we are perfect because of what Jesus did. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; The gift of Christ s perfect life is called His righteousness. The gift of righteousness is what we need to go to heaven.

14 It is im possible for one to receive Christ s forgiveness and gift of righteousness without repentance. Repentance is turning from my independence from God which results in breaking his law to a total dependence on Christ alone for my salvation Acts 26:18 We must turn from the sin of dependence on our self for salvation Self Dependence, Self Trust, Personal Works, Religious Experiences, Human Philosophy, Self efforts, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, Sin Placed on Christ to receive Christ s Righteousness by believing He paid for our sin, in full, with His blood Acts 17:30 God commandeth all men every where to repent: Turn Trust Believe Receive To be saved we must turn from the sin of trying to work out a salvation of our own, to trusting that Christ worked out a way of Salvation for us. We must believe that He shed his blood for our sins and died in our behalf. We must Believe He is God and that He arose from the dead. We must receive the free gift of his forgiveness so we are covered by his righteousness. This is what saves us and prepares us to face God on Judgment Day.

15 H E R E A R E T H E C O N C E P T S W E H A V E L E A R N E D To Be Saved 1. You must realize you are born without God under a curse, the curse of sin, going all the way back to Adam, the first man. Romans 5:12 2. You must agree with God that dying without Christ has the consequences of spending eternity in a place called the Lake of Fire. This is the result of living independent of God s provision of salvation for your soul and missing your only way to heaven. Revelations 20: You must believe that Jesus is God, and as God He lived a perfect life just for you as your representative. He was born perfect, He lived perfect and then He took your sin upon himself and died your death and paid the penalty for your sin with his blood. Then He rose again for your justification-which means God sees you just as if you never sinned. 1 Corinthians 15: You must realize that God s gift of eternal life and forgiveness is a gift you must receive by faith, not by works or any personal merit. Eph. 2: You must repent of any personal effort you may be trusting in for your Salvation from God s judgment. Turn from your self effort and trust in Christ s work alone for your Salvation. Acts 17:30 6. You must believe that God has the power to change your life by coming into your life and saving your soul. 7. You can call on him now and ask him for His free offer of Salvation that will change your life. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

16 If you want security for eternity, you can pray this prayer. Dear God, I realize that I am a sinner by birth and by choice. I recognize that I deserve to go to the Lake of Fire for my sin. Jesus, I believe that you came as my substitute to give your life s blood for my sin on the cross. I believe that you arose from the dead, proving your power to give me forgiveness, and that I need your righteousness and not my own, to cover my sin. I now ask you, by faith, to cleanse me from my sin and grant me your gift of righteousness that makes me perfect before you. I now turn to you, repenting of the sin of not depending on you alone for my salvation. I accept your free offer of eternal life by faith that the blood you shed for me is sufficient to pay for my sin. I now trust you alone, as my only security for eternity. I ask this in your name, (Jesus), Amen. If you are truly saved, a definite change will Take place. This can o nly be explained by Christ m aking yo u a new creatio n, by the m iracle o f His Salvatio n and the presence o f His Ho ly Spirit in yo ur life. II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
